This was super helpful; thanks Aaron. I’m I need of a case for my 14PM. I’ve been using an Apple leather case since just before they stopped shipping them. Knowing that the 16PM case does not fit guides my decision making as I was considering something like the Bang Case. I will now likely just get a basic case or see if any of my older cases will last until the 16PM release date.

Despite the dozens of similar channels, you are the only one in my subscription pool. One user won’t make or break your large pool, but I suspect my rationale will resonate with plenty.
My 14 pro max gets warm even with light use. I am looking forward to new thermal improvements in 16 lineup.

As usual, a great video, Aaron! I have the 15 plus but I’m not getting any younger and I spend a lot of time on my phone and my thumbs have developed either arthritis or carpal tunnel so even tho it is lighter, the size is a bit much. My goal is to swap the phone 15 plus at 6.7 to the 16 pro at 6.3. Do you think this will be a huge difference in size? Even the slimmest cases make the phone so much larger. I want the smaller size but am worried about compromising the ability to watch videos which I do all the time. Thank you for everything!!
This was my thought as well. I’ve always wanted a size between my pro max and the regular one. Hope this one fits that Goldilocks zone!
I am going to keep my 15 Plus for a while. It does everything I want it to do and the battery life is great.
That's right, my 15+ is 9 months old and with 80% charge limit it's battery health is 99% and not a single issue so far.I'm going to skip n wait till apple decides to put a 1inch sensor.

I’ve had the 13 since launch , as good today as it was in the beginning ….battery health down to 84% ….it makes sense to change the battery and keep for another year or two ….

hey Aron Ios 17.5 running smooth for me. Generally i have all locations turned off. So i get more battery. but the update has no stuutters. my typing rn is very smooth. im happy with the rc currently. Also this time around when i lock the screen it goes fast. then previous update. well done update

With the MagSafe ring being a bit smaller size, will current MagSafe accessories work?
I would think so. They can make the magnet ring slightly thinner, but with the same strength, depending on the type of magnets they use.
Is there any incentive to get a 16 if you aren’t interested in a camera upgrade
Hopefully they fix the over heating with the pro max models but since they’re going bigger , I’m gonna do the 6.3 inch light weight non pro hopefully it’s atleast 90hz

Sony have used a camera shutter button for about ten years, I have always loved it. Press fully to take an instant shot or squeeze to open the camera app and focus
Also, presume the 16 pro will have the new iPad flash to reduce the awful shadowing from led lights
I wish Apple could redesign the camera area on the pro models, maybe maintain the same positions but it should like a triangle instead of the rounded square shape
Or just 2 vertical lens like regular 16 with one lens without frame/outside

So, I have the 12 pro max and am having the annoying overheating and dimming issues. Not to mention that the battery life is diminishing quickly. I’m thinking about upgrading to the 15 pro max, but don’t know if I should really try to hold out for the 16 pro max. Do you think there’s going to be big enough upgrades over the 15 to warrant waiting another 4-5 months?
The upgrades to the 15 Pro Max from the 12 Pro Max will be pretty major. Besides a fresh and bigger battery.
- Dynamic Island
- Thinner Bezels. While not noticeable in pictures seeing it in person is a bigger difference.
- Always-on Display
- A better 120hz Refresh rate compared to the 60hz refresh rate on the 12 Pro Max.
- USB-C
To be fair, as we're getting closer it's best to wait until the fall to pull the trigger for the 16 Pro Max. Since everything the 16 Pro Max will get will also stack on top of the 15 Pro Max's features.
In a nutshell. Apple knows what they are doing, and a few years from now you will have the same issues I’m sure. So don’t stress it. I just have a hard time paying for something that looks similar to what I already have. I’m suffering from a cracked back , and heating of the battery at times as well. Besides that everything is still fully functional.

That means your battery needs replacement, just bring it to Apple store and ask them to replace your battery for you, it is faaaaar cheaper than getting a new iPhone, only reason why you'd get a new one, is if Apple is offering a good trade in deal for your old iPhone 12
@@kevindao1103 12 to 15 is not a huge difference, you literally wont notice almost all the new features, 120hz on a small display is not as noticable as on a monitor or ipad for example, dynamic island will be gone in the 17 or 18 models, aod is pretty pointless, had that on my android phones for years before iphone, never felt like it was useful, thinner bezels is nice but not noticable, again had androids with curve edges, curve edges is really really but can live without
Only actual upgrade is the USB-C, that makes a lot of difference.
Wait for The AI features and maybe 10x zoom on 16 pro Max

Hey Arron, I hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday weekend! I have a question in regards to a prior video you had recently released about the battery health decrease on the iPhone 15 models. I have just purchased this iPhone 15 not even two months ago, have a cycle count of 77 and my battery health is at 98% after restarting my iPhone which has 100% prior to the restart. I don’t really text or call much and I don’t use GPS, Apple Music or any battery draining apps or services to warrant the significant drop in battery health. I had dropped the device from a literal two inch height and it dented the bottom right corner of the device. I am having to charge my phone up to four times daily depending on what I’m doing and the device is very glitchy, especially if I’m using Walmart + and Amazon prime. I’m a moderate user at most and I do have Apple care+ on the phone. I was hoping to get your opinion on the issue and if it’s worth the hassle to drive 2.5 hours to the nearest Apple Store to get it replaced? I appreciate it and I absolutely love the informative videos and I would love to see you do a video on where the best places are to get an iPhone 13 mini or iPhone XS since I can’t find them new anywhere, yet the iPhone 12 mini I can still find brand new from certain carriers. Apologies for any inconvenience and keep up the amazing work, Aaron!!
No, I would not go get it replaced until it tells you you need to replace it which is typically below 80% battery health. Apple will not replace it when it’s at 98 anyway.

Dang, 6.1 on the regular pro is already big enough. Sad they are going to increase the size... I really liked the 5.8" phone size like the XS. If they made that phone but with razor thin bezels it would be perfection!

I like my 15 Pro Max, but even as a tech nerd, it’s basically a 12sss and I don’t see a ton of value vs back when I had my 12. I’ve been more and more considering moving to Android simply to not feel so stale. I’ve tried out a Pixel Fold and Z Fold and heavily considering the Pixel Fold 2. For my use case a foldable always on me (for excel on the go, Remote Desktop, etc) appeal far more than “btw the screens a little brighter and the SOC a bit faster”.

I would think the two cameras on the pro that are in the same positions as the two on the regular 16 would be the same general function as far as optics go and so the third one would be the only one that could contain any type of optical zoom. Is that what has been going on or is that what’s happening now❓And do you suspect we’re going to get the additional high resolution CCD that can be cropped, for better digital zooming, and render regularly at a lower resolution to accomplish it❓Hopefully the extra button is touch sensitive and doubles as a print reader for dual authentication or even solo authentication with no island. 8:35 I like the no leak guessing. Does that extra button appear to protrude further out from the body of the unit indicating it is different or is it the same as last years new button❓ This much information will guide the speculation. 👍🏼 Thanks Aaron.

i am still with my base iPhone 12 all of my friends keeps telling me to switch to 15PM but for me right now is pointless because the new 16PM will come out after 4 mounths i preffer to wait and switch from my base 12 model to 16PM i thing that will be a good choise.... i dont know why but i kinda like even the base 16 too

I don’t think we’ll get that ever again because phones have reached maturity. They’re just going to have better processors and better cameras. There’s not much more you can do with them at this point.
Next up are under display camera and Face ID. And after that maybe a folding one without a crease

How did they increase the screen size by 0.2+ by shrinking what is already a pretty small bezel? The new bezel must practically have to be non-existent. Will be very interesting to see.
The domino camera layout for the 15 was pretty iconic. I feel like the excuse to change this wasn't justified even if it was for spatial video, I mean it's not like the vision pro is affordable to the masses and even so, how do you even view spatial photos on the iphone?

I’m just going to stay with my regular iPhone 15….. when I see a big change I’ll upgrade. Same thing with my iPad Air and my Apple Watch Series 8. Only thing I’m upgrading next week is my MacBook Air (2015😅) to the MacBook Air M1.
