- Browns Place in the Bronx is where I, Grandmaster Flash continued to develop the turntable science. I would host parties in the room connected to my apartment. Right around the corner on Alexander Avenue is where I played my first big park, 54 Park!

Mad fly, I'm from building 352 in front of 54 park. I was little, but I saw you rock " I can't stop", drove me to be inspired.
Watched wild style in 83 I was eleven, seen the part with grandmaster Flash in his Kitchen and that was it , changed the way I listened to music for the rest of my life , flash the creator god bless 🙏🏻❤️❤️

Grand Master Flash. New York’s Finest DJ. Grand Master Flash is the FIRST DJ who used 3 turntables at one time. He kept the music going by mixing the music without stopping the beat. Flash could blend his music so well and the man NEVER missed a beat while blending his music. . Flash mastered his profession so well others tried to copy but just couldn’t get it. Flash opened the door for future DJ’s. Flash is a master of his talent. The greatest to EVER DO IT in my opinion. The DJ’s now don’t know what it means to carry crates of vinyl and lug your columns( speakers) . 2-3 turntables and have to move your equipment with a U-haul. They grab a computer and USB the music is downloaded on and the computer mixes the music for them. Just Lazy. Because some of today’s so called DJ”s need WiFi in order to DJ. What happens if there’s no WiFi or the WiFi goes out? Your computer burns up the mother board? The party’s over. I respect DJ’s such as Flash, Red Alert, Eric B , Premiere, Jazzy Jeff, Kid Capri, and any other DJ who can still rock a party with turntables. Some ppl may say well it’s the new technology of DJ-ing. No, it’s the I can’t rock out with 2 turntables and get creative on my own. If you need a computer to mix your music for you, well your just not a True DJ. Much respect to the Grandmaster for his talent. Thanks flash for the music. Your a true legend.

72-73!! WOW!! I wonder why or how he (or they in those days) came up with those "numbers" as the names for those parks? 54 Park- 137th st Alexander Ave? 23 Park- 165th & Tinton Ave is nowadays called Behagan Playground- I believe named after a neighborhood basketball legend which ran the tournaments back in the days. We should name 137th street park GrandMaster Flash Playground!
UptownChamps great question! Those numbers USUALLY referred to elementary or JHS schools that had playgrounds attached to them and we just called them parks! Hip Hop Matriarch #MCDebbieD

@onetimepeace Ah man, yo its good to hear somebody acknowledge that fact aloota people and not all JS1 fans either, think Jazzy Jeff( is to me the next Flash) invented cuttin & scratching, to really understand what Flash is you gotta go to the TK Fever Fun house Roxy these parks etc. What he did on wax is incredible too but Flash is the straight up INNOVATOR and most DJ's idolized. I knew Chris Rock was a real ni66a, when I saw Flash spinnin the Chris Rock show.
Alot of them tapped into the electrical supply for the street lamps to power their equipment risking serious injury or death. And they took that risk out of their love for music.

Whats the difference between theses hip hop guys and there late 20's early 30's"old them looks. This guy with his hip hop hat and some punk rock guy with his long hair and leather jacket and budweiser beer can?There is no difference, this guy has money and he could dress like an adult,he got business money so he could be in a suit but he would rather look like mr hip hop.
