      astroxbabe I play with a warrior playstyle, so what I find helps is getting weapons that deal either fire damage or poison damage so that even when you don’t attack it will damage them. I personally use Arachne’s Stinger (poison dagger) and Fanged Bow (poison bow) so it works well for me. Also, it helps if you don’t fixate on the Minotaur to attack it. Also make sure you’re around Level 40 to defeat it.

    50 hours lvl 50 My Tips
    1. Only upgrade your weapon and maybe 1 piece of your best gear. Materials get expensive. Level 50 is when you want to upgrade all your gear.
    2. Offensive Warrior skills are only good for early game. Endgame Melee is very underpowered compaired to assassin and hunter. 2nd Wind, Armor Perk, and Battlecry of Ares are the only skills you need from warrior. 2 points in shield bash if youre having trouble with shields.
    3. Spam the Arena is you need gear, exp, and gold. Its the fastest way to level up.
    4. Achilles gearset bonus (2% damage leech) is broken for Hunters. Its a free 2nd wind
    5. Around lvl 20ish you want to abuse the mecenary system. Get you bounty up until you find the mercenary "The Marksman." Kill that person and you get Achilles bow which gives you 20% damage to Devastating Shot. I still use that bow.
    Bonus Tip: Fire is a noob trap...Poison is better for endgame and higher difficulities becuase it debuffs the tougher enemies armor and damage they inflict on you. Fire just gives you a very mediocre fire damage over time. Its not worth it.

    • @5ean5ean22
      @5ean5ean22 Před 5 lety +41

      @@davidneraas750 Depends...... If you can kill something before the status effect starts then fire arrows are better becuase they do more upfront damage. If you have an enenmy tough enough for the status effect dot to start (Bosses, high level Mercs, etc) then poison arrows are better. Inxoxication indirectly buffs your main damage source like Devastating shot. I just scale poison arrows all the time becuaze it doesnt start fires in bushes while Im in stealth and I can 1 shot 90% of the game without fire anyway. I want to deal with he 10% that requires more.

      @5ean5ean22 Před 5 lety +21

      @@dhaynes325 If you rely more on assassin yes. If you go into fortresses and try to fight everyone then I guess your playing for fun at that point. But if Warrior is what you want to play dont let me stop you. I just think the skills suck compaired to Hunter and Assassin. Maybe in a DLC we can get a devastating shot type skill for the warrior skill tree then we can revisit my opinion.

    An actual advice from a level 70 player:
    1. don't upgrade armour and weapons too often, wait at least 5 levels between upgrade sessions.
    2. Invest your skill points only in abilities you're actually going to use. Most of the skills are useless and way to niche for broad combat.
    Good abilities to use:
    Hunter:
    Rain of destruction enhanced version (good for prep to chain with assassin abilities, massive burst damage), rapid fire (early game, very good if you have headshot bonuses and good aim), Devastating shot (pretty much the best hunter ability, don't enhance it though), Overpower bow strike (good mid/late game, when you have abilities that discount the adrenaline cost)
    Warrior: Bull rush (only enhanced, good to make space when multiple enemies storm you), weapons and gear master (max this out), OP attack (good when discounted), Battlecry of Ares (good late game, enhanced and combined with ISU armor that doubles activation time.. you're pretty much immortal and with a smart build, you can do over a million damage in just few strikes), Shield braker (good throughout the game, even if you don't really need it late game), Flaming attacks and fire mastery (max this out, and use all the time. apply bonuses to weapons as well - very useful bonus damage)
    Assassin:
    Shadow assassin (max this out), Rush Assassination (it's a play-style, I never used it - but it can be useful) Critical assassination (max it, use it), Stealth master (max it), Hero strike (max it, use it - all the time)
    There are other passive abilities that are a no brainer, but these are what I use.. there's also one that deals "multiple hits" but gives you adrenaline back.. like 3 or 4 bars. That is essential and a top priority. If you run Assassin oriented build like me, you can never be dry on adrenalin. All other power abilities that I didn't mention are garbage or niche. There are some really good enhanced abilities which I also didn't mention cause I don't remember.. But yeah - pretty much strive for combos, full adrenaline, chain your attacks and abilities so you're immortal most of the time.. You can mow through the whole fort on hard mode with a decent build. It's crazy how some critical hits cards and shit let you deal upwards of 5 million damage in what seems like seconds. Have fun playing

    • @Truguru
      @Truguru Před 3 lety +3

      What I love to do with bounty hunters is when I'm alerted 📢 to their presence I hide immediately. Get Ikaros to tag them so I can see the path their walking. Then use him to harass the bounty hunter. Not only does he distract him which allows you to sneak up behind but he also deals really good damage. The higher your assassination damage the harder he hits! After about 4 hits from the bird I go for a critical assassination.
      If that doesn't kill him then I follow up with a hero strike to finish him off. With a good assassination set and weapons you should be able to OHKO buy the hero strike is a good buffer just incase he still lives.
      Sometimes though you'll be fighting bounty hunters that are above your level so they won't go down so easily, that's when you can step back after a knock down and change your gear to either hunter or warrior, depending on your play style (and available gear).
      Finish them off with hunter or warrior abilities for a much easier kill after you softened them up with critical assassination and hero strike!

      Here’s a FYI, the legendary sets the cultist give you, will relevel to your lv when you get the whole set. ( they won’t deliver though so if your not lv 45 but get the full set for one that requires you to be lv 45, that pc isn’t going to downgrade).

      Engraves are cheap, upgrades expensive. So engrave to your heart's content. However, I do agree with NeOmega's idea of conservative upgrading. It's often not worth it to upgrade, and almost never worth it to go all in. Just a few underleveled key epics / legendaries with a buff you need for playstyle might be justifiable.

    • @stephenbiggs3623
      @stephenbiggs3623 Před 5 lety +3

      I mostly agree. The majority of my gear I replace with whatever item I find for my current level. And since I am swapping out items so frequently the engravings arn't worth the materials they use.
      But occasionaly I find an item that's enough above average it's worth upgrading. So at high level most of my gear should be a complete set of such items.

    One thing about ranged attack is you can stay in stealth when hidden in bushes or tall grass. Using your bow doesn't break stealth. Once I realized that I hit respec and put more emphasis on the ranged tree. You can clear out quite a few enemies as they run around trying to take cover from you before they even finally come up and find you. And usually by then you've killed them with arrows before they even find you. Kinda crazy...

    I LOVE the combat in AC Odyssey & walk into forts & obliterate everything. It's very challenging & fun. My tips after 1300 hours of play:
    I recommend calmness, precision + lightning reflexes & timing during combat
    If u see a red attack do not move. Just press space once to dodge
    If u see a regular attack, time it & press block or dodge
    With practice u can fight elusively like the great boxer Floyd Mayweather. However it's much easier if u also boost defensive ability numbers: Melee Resistance, Range Resistance & Elemental resistance etc
    Some red moves give only a very small amount of warning eg shoulder barge, shield rush etc - however, even these are dodgeable if ur ready with that dodge button
    Attacking a fort is safest (but slow) with long range hunter skills (i.e. bow)
    Assassination skills are also quite safe & the Rush Assassination ability can be very useful for eliminating 4 opponents quickly & sometimes for jumping up a wall
    Warrior skills are most dangerous & fun way IMO - when using warrior skills to attack a fort, keep moving: if u get too many archers & mercenaries it can become impossible so I try to keep moving round corners, attack a couple, kill lions & archers early, then move round a few more corners & attack a bit more etc
    However, with a proper "tank build" archers can't do any damage.
    T7 PDM has done the maths & does amazing things with different combinations of weapons & armor & ability points. He was able to inflict 330 million damage with a single attack. i recommend his videos
    An invulnerable tank build = 100% Melee Resistance &100% Range Resistance & 100% Elemental resistance
    Purple equipment is better than gold equipment because u get more engravings
    When u go to a blacksmith always look for equipment with these:
    1) CRIT Chance 2) CRIT chance while Full Health 3) CRIT Damage 4) Melee resistance 5) Range Resistance & 6) Elemental resistance
    The best sword is purple & only appears (ultra rarely) in blacksmiths = +24% Weapon Damage, +30% Sword Damage & +50% CRIT Damage
    The best dagger is purple & only appears (ultra rarely) in blacksmiths = +24% Weapon Damage, +30% Dagger Damage & +50% CRIT Damage
    etc
    The Spartan Javelin from the Trouble in Paradise mission gives melee resistance which can help to make a tank build. It's easily lost through not realising how useful it is.
    Similarly the copycat sword is helpful to get 100% CRIT Chance i.e. every hit u make causes CRIT Damage
    I have heard if u complete the game & then play New Game+ u can complete the tombs again & get another 40 ability points
    For Dracmae, there are 17 weapon racks that can be quickly raided in Aipeia (in Messenia)

    1.- You can actually use the “AFK method” of “go to travel point”, but at the same time use the Eagle to see the map.
    2.- The ability of taking off the shields of enemies is really useful. It makes you ignore damage while doing it and has a small radius of action, this means enemies that are close to you will also be affected with a little “stun” that can always come handy when charging other abilities or attacks

    i never sold any armor or weapons, money is not a problem if you are doing sidequest and not focus on main story, i always dismantle cause materials is harder to get and requires more when upgrading weapons and ship.
    i didnt focus on one playstyle, hunter warrior or warrior assasin.
    i dont wear set armors, i always try to have fashion while also fitting the fashion to my build. even when i have many legendary sets.
    at the beginning i use warrior assassin because if my stealth fails i can still fight. right now i play hunter warrior and just enter fortress or camps from the entrance lol.
    just choose poison or fire, i use poison at the start, then switch to fire because its more fun when enemies are shouting when they are on fire.
    i only play on hard difficulty though and the only enemy that kills me more than 3 times is the giant boar that stinks poison around.
    the game is huge but the mechanics is small so try everything and find your style, the game wont punish you from making mistakes. also there is no endgame to prepare with, so if you know how to use the build you are using, you are fine even after reaching max level.

      actually selling gives u more money to buy the raw material compared to dismantling. That's why i always sell all unused gear, and use the money for buying material on different blacksmith. Let's calculate a blue gear usualy gives around 200-300 drachmae, which u can use to buy either 20 pelt (@12) or 20-30 iron (@10), when dismantling only gives around 3 pelt & 3 iron. not worth it

    hmm abount bounty hunting... 50% of the game walk with level 4 bounty but those hunters never attack my enemies. Actually most of the time they team up with my enemies and there 15 enemies surrounding you. Honestly, keep bounty level only for experience. Cause killing them is really profitable

    If you are selling stuff rather than tearing it down, I would suggest tearing down the bows, as they give you the wood, at least until you get your ship upgraded. Also if you had not already figured it out, and I did not hear it mentioned here, if you are boarding and use the spartan kick to kick strong enemies off the ship into the water, they will not get back on.

    • @netatsake

    I've never once had a Mercenary start fighting with the other enemies in the game. I also don't keep a bounty for the most part, but I do hunt down the Mercenaries and kill them anyway.

      Some of it yes but not all of it. The wanted level tip is a death sentence on nightmare if you get to level 3+ and more than 1 shows up you better get out of dodge ASAP or you are going to get assassinated. they go all out for those kill shots and generally find you at the worst times possible.

      Only tip you need if playing on hardset, go hunter build with heal and toxic arrows and slow time from assassin tree. Then its just steamroll.

    Telling people to go all in on 1 tree is probably the worst advice you can give for this game, even worse than "make sure you parry and dodge". You can only use 4 melee, and 4 ranged active abilities at one time. To be effective you first want to decide if you want to focus primarily on ranged or melee choose 4 actives of that type that can fit your playstyle then pick the rest of your skills to support and synergize those actives.
    Even if you want to play a very strict archetype, like a hunter assassin or warrior, you'll benefit greatly from using skills in another category. For instance, flaming attacks and venomous attacks are DOT buffs that will work just as well with ranged or melee weapons, and venomous is objectively better due as it has a debuff that flaming doesn't have. Second wind is always useful. Hero Strike is one of the best combat abilities a warrior can equip. Devastating Shot is an invaluable as a stealth assassin....ect ect ect.
    Personally I prefer melee combat, the only actives I use in the warrior tree are a heal and a buff, Second Wind and Battlecry of Ares, while my primary attacks are Assassination Rush and Hero Strike from the Assassin Tree. This makes for an extremely fluid and aggressive melee playstyle that would not be available to me if I stuck to just dumping my points in to 1 tree.

    • @YoungBaller-sj6wd
      @YoungBaller-sj6wd Před 5 lety +1

      Durruti You can have 8 melee active abilities

    • @Durrutitv
      @Durrutitv Před 5 lety

      If they changed that, that's cool but you certainly couldn't when I finished the game in patch 1.0.5, only ranged abilities could be assigned under the left trigger modifier. I tried googling to confirm but I can't find anywhere that notes that change but I'll take your word for it since I don't plan to reinstall just to see if they opened up the LT modifier to melee abilities. Anyway, that doesn't change the point of my post: that going all in on 1 tree is terrible advice.

      You just hold the button used to activate the skill and push down on the keypad and you get another 4 abilities ... for both melee and ranged

    • @ErinBrookes
      @ErinBrookes Před 5 lety

    I'm level 99 and mastery level 101. There's alot here I don't agree with you on. My tips:
    1: Do a Jack-of-all-trades build. You'll allways have something that works whatever the situation. Don't be a one-trick-pony.
    2: It's "Assassins' Creed" not "Archers' Creed", stealth and a quick stab in the back is the way to go.
    3: If you need money: Sell. If you need resources: Dismantle. Keep an eye on what you get from different gear, it might be so that one type of gear doesn't give the resource you want, then, sell.
    4: Keep the stuff that fits your playstyle. With the the new "slot"-system you can have several builds and switch easy.
    5: Don't get a bounty on your head. Those guys turn up at the worst time. Stay of the radar and be the hunter instead of the hunted.
    6: Do everything! You paid for a full game. Why play less than half of it?
    7: Board ships to get the most loot. Just remember that Spartan and Athenian ship will increase you Bounty-level and if you board and kill the crew, each kill will also add to the bounty. Conquest sea battle will not increase your bounty no matter how much you board and kill. Pirates are free for all.
