@@kstrainstuff7456 FANTASTIC!!
@@JnL_SSBM It took a lot of playing around, and it tends to really bring out the scan lines if you're not careful. Lots of trial and error.
The original video was captured in OBS at 1440x1080p, color corrected (well, as much as possible) in Davinci Resolve, and re-output as 640x480. It gave better upscaling results going from 640x480 back to 1440x1080 than keeping the resolution. I still haven't gotten the workflow down to something that gives consistent results every time, but I'm happy with these settings for now.
Handbrake is also a necessity. The output files from Topaz are massive. Nearly 120GB for this video, but re-encoding it as an h.264 mp4 at 15000Kbps made it more manageable to work with. Davinci Resolve (at least the free version) does not like Topaz's native output mp4 files.
@@kstrainstuff7456 Yes, like remastering before downscaling, to reescale again to better resolution. Just like remastered film-based movies from then.
@@kstrainstuff7456 Separate audio before mp4 and re-output the video having mp4 no audio plus wav at 24bit high resolution merged the re-output to mov to preserve lossless audio or matroska MKV, mp4 compresses audio. H264 is good enough yeah.
I love to see these videos always fun seeing how different Strasburg was back then than it is now
This is cool. I wanted to see footages of Strasburg railroad back in the 90s.
Wow, that’s so cool!
