I love how Phillips says he daughter may be a writer with no need of a husband. It means she admires Penelope and wouldn’t be disappointed if she turned out like her ❤
I loved that she slipped that in there. Finally showing she respects her sister and wants her daughter to see her as a role model. It was a nice way to show how she has matured as well.
I love the fact that all of them are at the Featherington House at the end.

I've been sayinng it all day: this was the most romantic season yet. Now the first 2, they brought and were amazing, but there was something about Colin & Pen that I just fell in love. I had not read any of the books and so when I heard that they got together, I was ready for their season. They did an awesome job and IMO it's gonna be hard to beat.

As a queer person, I'm still not quite on board with the Michaela Stirling thing. Michael was my favorite male character in the books precisely because of how he displays emotions as a man. I would've preferred a wlw representation for Eloise, it would've made more sense. Or even Benedict now that he explored his sexuality with men.
Yes exactly! Although as a queer person as well I’d prefer if they write new characters rather than disappoint book fans like myself being going very very off book by changing the gender of the Bridgerton main love interests. Sophie and Michael were my personal favorites

This whole Bridgerton craze is so surreal to me. I was a hugh fan of Julia Quinn when she was writing the series and read them all as they were released in the early 2000s. I think the originals are on my bookcase.❤❤

In the book Franny had a happy marriage with John unlike the show which shows her immediate disappointment and attraction to Michael/Mikayala cuz Michael was attracted to Franny and been pining for her for a long time, Fran only sees him differently after death of her beloved husband. They really didn't have to do Franny dirty like this.

I feel like the other bridgerton stories could be adapted to have a queer storyline without too much change but Francesca only wants to remarry for the purpose of having a child. Her story is the one that makes the least sense to be queer, Eloise or Benedict or even one of the younger bridgertons would be a better choice cause the plot of their books could remain similar.
I don’t think she’ll be unhappy with John there just might be some confusion. She loves John and just met Michaela.

Why must they change it?
I was so looking forward to Michael Stirling he won’t be the same if it’s a woman a Michaela Stirling. I’m all for showing gay romance but Michael was my favorite Bridgerton love interest, my second favorite being Sophie for Benedict.
The race changing is one thing, I mean although it’s historically inaccurate for regency era setting, it doesn’t change anything in the main plot. Changing Michael’s gender absolutely does change the story.
Instead of changing so many things in the books why don’t we just write new stories? That way we can put as much gay or racial representation rather than just changing already good stories!
I was dying to see michael stirling and i am truly disappointed. Francesca's story was the best nd the most heartbreaking of them all in the books nd to see it so altered is sad.Representation is one thing but changing a main character in fact the best character of the entire series for representation is sad. The part showing benedicts bisexuality was beautifully done. They could have done something like that with Francesca but taking Michael away is heartbreaking. Moreover francesca is not queer in the books which is the source material for the show.Michael stirling is a fan favorite and to have a man who was a green flag in that Era is a huge thing. In those times most men considered women to be beneath them nd as baby making machines so even if its fictional to read of a man who was a green flag is a big deal. That is what they have taken away. Because men who were green flag was very rare in that Era fewer than what we find now. So yes it is sad that they took away a good man. Nd I do not hate queer ppl I have said earlier itself that I think they depicted benedicts bisexuality in a beautiful way. I loved seeing Reynolds nd brimsleys story. My opinion was not abt queer or straight love. It's abt making drastic changes to books so as to change a whole character.Also for your information even some queer ppl are not happy abt the change because the issue here is not the kind of love depicted(queer/straight)..the issue is changing an entire character. Aww bless i havn't read the books but i found the ending really sweet they have a mini colin and they looked happy in love i am looking forward to the next season in a few years to see how colin and penelope cope as pearents the speech he said to her when he got over his anger was cute and they were both happily crying before sharing a happy dance and we even had a cheeky sex scence of them all loved up again while Julie andrews was talking they could of not given them a happy ending but they did and thats good enough for me

I enjoyed season 3 but….there were some aspects which I thought were unnecessary and changing the dynamic of the show from the books is a bit frustrating
Firstly huge respect to both Nicola Coughlin and Luke Newton for their portrayal of those intimate scenes. They really did it justice in tackling issues around body shaming. I’m really impressed with how that was presented, respectfully done.
I’m all for equality and diversity and freedom of expression and I’m open minded however, I did feel some sex scenes were not necessary to convey a situation. Sounds like a contradiction considering my above comments but it felt unnecessary to put that in there for me.
I love Julie Andrew’s and love her as lady whistledown she is absolutely amazing in that role. Now that she has come out to society. We now lose a much loved character of the whole show. She equally makes the show what it is. So where do we go from here?
The whole point of doing a series based on books is that you follow the books, so why are we introduced to Michaela and not Michael Stirling when the character is male in the books.
Again nothing wrong with diversity if it follows the books, but the show is going off on its own tangent that moves away from the narrative of the books.
You wouldn’t dream of radically changing Pride and Prejudice Sense and Sensibility or Jane Eyre. So why do it with someone else’s books.
Overall the season was good. But having the season cut in half was a bit disappointing after waiting so long for it. Then to add insult to injury we now have to wait 2 years for the next season

This season was good in all, but there are two things I didn’t like about it:
1. Not so many Polin sex scenes. Only 1 in episode 5 and a 5 second clip in this episode. Even Benedict had more scenes than them and it’s not even his season.
2. The Michaela reveal. I understand that queer representation is important in these tv shows, especially in a show that is all about love in many different ways. But I am not sure if Francesca’s storyline is really the way to go there. Jess Brownell needs to think how this will look. Michael is many people’s favorite leads in the whole of Bridgerton and to replace him with Michaela like that will make many people riot against this show. And against the actress who plays Michaela. Not to mention, the many changes they will have to make in Frannie’s storyline. The infertility issues and being the only sibling to marry a second time. And I’m pretty sure Julia Quinn already confirmed that each Bridgerton season will have an episode named after each Bridgerton sibling’s book. And Frannie’s book is When HE was Wicked. I just can’t see how the writers can change that pattern and fulfill this. If anything, they should’ve made Eloise gay or bi. Her character would make more sense and her own love story with Sir Phillip in the books sucked to me.
1. They can simply change the He to a She, not that hard, is it?
2. Francesca's story, at it's core, was about second chances at happiness and moving on. I don't see why they'd have to erase her struggling with infertility as it seems they'll dive a lot deeper into her relationship w John than they ever did in the books, giving us time to see that arc play out before he actually dies. But Francesca being bi and finding herself falling in love with his cousin will be even MORE confusing than her conflicting feelings for Michael in the book. Plus, there's already a precedent in Bridgerton of societal laws being changed with the Queen Charlotte spin off. This would actually adress a criticism that I've seen online that racism doesn't seem to exist in this FANTASY reality where everyone gets their Happy Ever After, but classicism is still an issue and non-heterosexual relationships are still looked down upon. If they handle this the right way, I don't see why Francesca wouldn't be able to marry a second time

The Bridgerton book fan base was very nasty when the initial casting news for Simon dropped and they realized the show would have blind casting, but that's precisely the reason WHY Bridgerton became such a huge hit: giving people that weren't represented in romance period dramas leads that looked just like them. So I'm having a hard time at understanding why they assumed the show would stop at that and not tackle m/m - f/f relationships

There was a very heavy hint that next season will be Bennedict season. He is telling Eloise he will see her at the masked ball, and we all know he meets his future wife Sophie at that masked ball. And he was main focus in one of the last scenes, opening gates alone. Seson 4 will no doubt be his season. Wasn't a fan if them maiking him bisexual, but i am glad he finished with that trio so that we can have his real couple...can't wait ti see who they cast as his pair. Hopefully Francesca will taie a break and we'll see more of Eloise too. From what i saw, they hinted again at the strong bond between Eloise and Ben, quite possibly will be their next season...not a fan at apl of tue gender swap with Francesca's future love intrest tho..mwe really don't need a gay couple just for the sake of diverity and inclusion, ok? Plus it won't even fit that era...i don't onow, i don't like the direction they chose for her story at all .but i supose Brigerton won't do a couple per season anymore, cuz i Don't sed Netflix apporving 8 seasons

I can't believe what they did with Francesca :( Her book is SOOOO good. Bridgerton has such a huge following, what a great opportunity to discuss infertility (which is NEVER shown on t.v.) and her & Michael's story is so beautiful. I'm just so disappointed. I guess I better prepare for Benedict to show up next season and meet Steven at the ball instead of Sophie. The whole thing is a mess now in my opinion.

Instead of changing the sexuality or race or gender of characters from previously beloved books and stories to fit diversity standards, why not write new ones?
At least Benedict’s bisexuality is tastefully explored and hopefully Sophie will appear next season not a male Sophie.

Well, another show ruined💔 I'm dissapointed like I was in The Game of Thrones. Something will be lacking without Lady Whistledown. We won't have the charming Michael and I'm sick of seeing Benedict sleep around so much. Where did the romance go? We also didn't get to see Pen and her sisters pregnant and share that special moment with with their husbands. That would have been funny, touching and sweet. Dear Netflix stop ruining the show!

Bendict will redeem himself in season 4. I love his story...it's my favorite ! Also, in the books, we never had any scenes of the births of any of the children. We don't know even know if Pen's older sisters had kids in the book. I liked that the sisters had much bigger part in the show.

Do you mean Crissada ? She's not in Scotland...she's in Wales. In the books, she was only part of for Colin and Pen's story. Afterwards, she was only mentioned once in a Bendicts story. I believe her story is done. For Eloise, we will see her back in season 4 as she mentioned that she will be back for her mother's masquerade ball which will most likely be Bendicts story.

I'm tired of producers wanting to introduce us a forced gay character.
Nothing forced about it. Gay characters have always been around…… the only forcing is from a heterosexual community that just can’t handle any story that does not reflect a likeness to them, back at them like a mirror so they bitch about it until everything not-them goes away. Stories are supposed to be safe places for new ideas, new characters, and new stories. Or maybe not so new stories…. Robin Williams once said “Straight sex, bi sex, gay sex……ANY couple that’s been together for any length of time knows for a fact that it’s all the SAAAME SEX. 😂

Agree, I really didn’t like Colin’s portrayal through this. Such a lack of partnership, love and kindness that’s only recovered in the last 15 mins.

@@mimis.5139 he was jealous and envious in the book, but he also couldn’t be apart from her, was much more tender and their love and partnership developed much further and with vulnerability. Unfortunately, because of how the Lady Whistledown story has unfolded in the series, the polin second half is one about his anger and distance and, for me, just had such a sad feel about it in comparison to the first half.
My sentiments exactly. I am really disappointed. Not only a bit. Such a freshly discovered love and such quick distance? Return to balance took too long. And this sleeping separately... 🙄 In fact the marriage was illegal. It is a pity. So much waiting and such disappointment. And the solution of Benedict story.. 😢😢😢 😢😢😢😢
The only good thing in the second part is the pen, Colin, and Eloise as well. I can’t believe what Netflix did to Benedict’s story. They made me really hate his character in this season after he was one of the most beautiful characters in the series.
He will redeem himself in Season 4 ! His story is my favorite as it's a Cinderella story.
Maybe you shouldn't post spoilers in the title of the video....I saw this on my home feed and it ruined the ending for me
