- In this episode of One's Abode, we visit a newlyweds' first home, an HDB executive maisonette in Tampines. Open and practical, the house’s interior design was in part inspired by the pandemic’s lockdown. Things are kept flexible with fewer walls and standalone furniture rather than built-ins in case needs change, while a well-equipped home gym sits at the original yard. Thanks to the generous amount of windows and a light neutral palette warmed up with wood tones, the home feels airy and inviting. It is most evident in the kitchen, which was expanded to include an island. A glass panel divides this cooking/working/entertaining zone from the laundry room, generating a modern feel while also letting in lots of light. Join us as we take a tour of their bright and beautiful home.
