Father John has that just right amount of folky/pop/rock sensibility with a real ear for subtle and sumptuous arrangements topped off with a shaman's insightful lyrics.

Shaman of song. When you're smiling one of the best versions I have seen - it's a totally visceral experience.

He is gutsy! It takes great skill and control to sing Honeybear live and he _nailed_ it!
It takes even more balls to open with it. I would bury it down in the set to work towards it emotionally. I would always open with something like I'm Writing a Novel. I guess when you do it 100 times in a row you probably try every combination possible just to amuse yourself.
