My Hero Academia (Japanese: 僕のヒーローアカデミア, Hepburn: Boku no Hīrō Akademia) is a Japanese superhero manga series written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi. The story follows Izuku Midoriya, a boy born without superpowers (called Quirks) in a world where they have become commonplace, but who still dreams of becoming a superhero himself. He is scouted by All Might, Japan's greatest hero, who chooses Midoriya as his successor and shares his Quirk with him after recognizing his potential, and later helps to enroll him in a prestigious high school for heroes in training.
The series has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 2014, with its chapters additionally collected into 30 tankōbon volumes as of April 2021. The series has also inspired numerous spin-off manga, such as My Hero Academia Smash!!, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes and My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions, as well as an anime television series by Bones. Its first season aired in Japan from April to June 2016, followed by a second season from April to September 2017, then a third season from April to September 2018, a fourth season from October 2019 to April 2020, and a fifth season premiered in March 2021. It has also received three animated spinoff films, titled My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, and My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission respectively. There are plans for a live-action film by Legendary Entertainment.
Both the manga and anime adaptation have received an overwhelming positive response from both critics and audiences, and are considered one of the best of the 2010s, with winning several awards including the 2019 Harvey Award for Best Manga. As of April 2021, the manga has over 50 million copies in circulation worldwide.
The series is written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi. It began its serialization in Shueisha's manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump on July 7, 2014.[9] Shueisha has collected its chapters into individual tankōbon volumes. The first volume was released on November 4, 2014.[10] As of April 2, 2021, thirty volumes have been released.[11] The manga entered its final act in chapter 306, which was released on March 21, 2021.[12]
The series is licensed for English-language release in North America by Viz Media, who published the first volume on August 4, 2015. As the series is published in Japan, it is also released simultaneously in English digitally by Viz Media's Weekly Shonen Jump.[13][14] Shueisha began to publish chapters of the series at the same time as Japan in English on the website and app Manga Plus in January 2019.[15]
I like the message he seems to be delivering. "Stop trying to surpass me. Work on surpassing yourself!" Thats the real secret. Dont train to get stronger to surpass a rival or whatever, instead, ask yourself, "Am I better today than i was yesterday?" So long as the answer is yes, you should be proud. Keep focusing on doing better than you did yesterday, and eventually you will reach your goal. By aiming for the top of the mountain you just damage your sense of pride in your accomplishments when the gap never seems to close. You lose heart. To put it in simpler terms, you can do 10 pushups. Your goal is 100. Isnt it better to go "Yes! I did 12 today! Lets go for 14 tomorrow!" Or whine how you STILL arent hitting 100 yet?

That is *exactly* what Endeavor was trying to do. Trying to surpass All Might. He sees the mistake now.

To be honest, endeavor was looking for the opportunity to make someone else feel what Almight did to him🤣🤣🤣
I mean if it was just that easy to pass Endeavor, he would've never been the undisputed #2 hero when All Might was around. Endeavor sacrificed so much to reach this point, so I'm glad the anime is making sure people know just how deserved it was for him to take over the #1 spot in terms of work ethic and talent.

It's really jarring seeing Endeavor as an actually good teacher for a change. Although it does mean that he's always had it in him and he's only decided to go through with it now, but whatever.

Deku smashing through the ice and not losing any momentum. I wonder what that means for the ice Shoto is producing. Is he making it less dense to make it easier to melt and thus not be a hassle? Can he do something like that?
Considering how he can control the temperature of his flames, he can probably do the same with the ice.
MHA really likes pushing metrics and nuance into the application of straightforward powers; Endeavor's entire philosophy revolves around it
Deku controls power output in duration and percentages, Bakugo can control the volume and pressure of his explosions, so I think it makes perfect sense Shoto's ice has more variables than simply shape
Todoroki can control his fire & ice to the same degree by default, shoto has just been neglecting his fire side out of spite from his father, all those crazy pinpoint fire abilities endeavor does like hell curtain and hell spider, shoto will do similar things and has already did similar things with his ice & fire, shoto can manipulate the shape of his ice and temperature, just like his fire, shoto is basically nerfed like deku, but it’s shoto’s fault why he’s nerfed, shoto is essentially using 50% of his power, then using the other 50% which just means 50% here of cold solid(ice) then 50% there of hot plasma(fire) shoto actually using his quirk at full capacity would be flashfreeze heatwave, even shoto has said this multiple times because it’s cough cough obvious, shoto is nerfed from a power tier standpoint as well, if shoto could consistently attack with flashfreeze heatwave plus use it to make his speed higher he’d be capable of defeating allmight, he overpowered 100% deku and shoto is even hotter fire/cooler ice since then, shoto is nerfed, deku is nerfed(not as much obviously) and bakugo is just getting stronger while already being polished, Honestly here I don’t see how bakugo will eventually keep up with shoto once he starts consistently doing the flashfreeze heatwave technique
@@realtruth1448 Bakugo's power is very versatile while Shoto's is mainly for fighting. Explosion can be used for speed boosts, attacking, forcing the enemy back, causing a distraction, making a smokescreen and more. Both Bakugo and Deku are strategists from hanging out with each other for so long so while Bakugo may not be able to out perform Shoto in raw power once he masters his quirk Bakugo would still be able to put up a good fight and probably even win.
In Deku's case the 100% he was throwing at Todoroki wasn't actually 100%. Because he was wrecking his own body while using it and while fighting he was trying to lower his output to do less damage to himself. When Deku's body can fully handle 100% his power will be stronger as well.
People trying to apply logic on TodoBakuDeku moves... Guys.... There's a character LITERALLY ON FIRE there
The dude literally uses fire to fly and is unfazed by the power it takes to keep him in the air, I get he’s a pro and all but he must be extremely in shape in the quirk world especially since quirks are physical abilities

For a guy like Endeavor who only wanted to train his son, who agreed to train his friends Midoriya and Bakugo is a pretty good teacher and all because of the war against the villains of the paranormal front hehehe is definitely a professional.
Dude, I cannot wrap my head around Shoto's mobility with Ice
How does that even work, how is he propelling himself with ice and sliding on the ground? How is he even sliding on the surface of a building with one hand producing ice?? That's weird, Author definitely didn't think this one through
Ice is slippery, hes using the force of the ice hes creating to propel himself, kind of like snow surfing
He used his fire abilities to push himself forward and because ice is slippery then he can slide on it
I’m not even gonna question how shoot sliding on ice can be as fast as deku or bakugos quirks

watch his race with inasa it show that produce ice as propulsion like imagine you can grow a long rock through your feet shoto did that with ice the author think it through it just anime did not show it well
It doesn't make sense as to how Deku is slower than Bakugo. Bakugo was going all out in the fight and Deku was only using 8 percent. He is using at least 15 percent which is almost double which means he should be miles faster than Bakugo. I would understand if Bakugo got stronger but firstly its the winter and secondly he can't be growing as fast as Deku. Don't even get me started on Shoto.

It’s less a difference in travel speed and more reaction speed. Bakugo starts moving before Deku. It also has to do with propulsion as sometimes they’re moving high up and Deku has to jump, meaning there’s more time where he’s not propelling himself whereas Bakugo is always going at a consistent or rising rate

He’s just designed to look older and more mature at this point. I think his costume may have been tweaked a little bit too.

Am i the only one who thinks Deku should be the fastest here? All he needs is a 20% full crowling and he's off. He already has reached teleportation speed, and is definitely faster than Endeavor. 😑😑😑

Is deku only using 5% when running? Im pretty sure Bakugo had trouble reacting at 8%. If he uses 15% or even 20% he shpuld be faster than endeavor.
i think deku is using 8% rn. at this current state, it's hard for him to use 20%. if i remember correctly, using 20% strains his body so he's not comfortable using it at this time. if he did, he can at least catch up with endeavor but i don't know about him being faster...

in this manga, everyone is faster than deku, shinso was barely able to cope, but uraraka defeated three 1/b class characters without his ability, sir nighteye defeated 2 characters, while deku barely coped with a beaten and broken chisaki. the whole manga is illogical in this regard
he can't knock anyone out or catch up with 10%-15% of his power.

I'm pretty sure Midoriya is holding back his power and so is Bakugou when they are trying to chase after Endeavor because Endeavor definitely isn't a faster character and Midoriya should actually be the fastest out of the four of them considering his power can rise up in both power and speed while Bakugou has to release a certain amount of explosions in order to keep up but also to be able to fight. Midoriya doesn't have that problem since he can maintain his physical capabilities and the only thing he has to do is push further to maintain higher amounts. Either the writer is doing this on purpose which would be against the general point of this scene or it's an inconsistency. Also, how does sliding on ice help Todoroki keep up with them? Being slippery still doesn't fully solve that because he would need to be using both his fire and ice to slide consistently or to move his legs same way like Frozone from Incredibles.
Endeavor is definitely faster than all of them. That’s the entire point. He has incredible power and more importantly, control that allows him to maximize his output to blast himself forward. They literally explained the mechanics behind it basically being a more well trained version of Bakugo’s explosion based flight but it’s continuous. And imagine if Shoto built a pillar of ice under himself to raise himself higher. Now imagine him doing that but horizontally. He’s pushing himself forward by creating ice beneath and behind him.

dont worry dude, this is not an error from the author, in fact, this training montage didn’t happen in the manga, so i see this scene of them training with endeavour unnecessary and contradictory to the main story, i mean shoto has no problem with his fire power when it comes to use it, so it makes no sense why he is not using it in this scene to his advantage jsjsjs. @Adwig25 W In my humble Opinion it ruined the pacing, Class A vs B wasn’t exactly the pinnacle of excitement, but it didn’t seem so bad considering MVA was essentially a direct follow up (even reading the manga when these arcs originally released) now that they switched it, it just continued the molasses pacing only to Flashback post endeavor training arc.
