@@rickyvalent2742 not really , cause it’s hard to compare. Mercedes is a brand more focused with road cars and mass-production for the richer market. While Porsche is made more primarily for racing, performance, and for the even richer supercar market (although they still make road-focused cars like the cayenne). If you are talking about specific cars that are made to compete with each other like the 911 and AMG gt, then yes I think Porsche is better imo

Mercedes basically made their own idea of a 911 this go round. I think it looks great, the AMG GT always has, but something about the old one still gets me. The side view shows me they pushed the cabin forward a bit, shortening the hood and making it look much more agile. Which isn’t a bad thing in the slightest; the car looks more athletic now.

I have the new SL63, so similar shaping as the new GT. Pictures are hard because you cant get a feel for real-life proportion. Once you see the car, especially next to the old SLs and GTs, it's actually more like they've extended the rear for the most part, with only a slight cabin move forward. The hood is just as long as the old GT physically.

Look at everything that makes a car brand the best
      1 - Sales(clearly Mercedes stomps, no doubt)
      2 - Safety(no need to talk)
3 - Reliability(Porsche has great reliability such as Mercedes)
4 - Praticality(the only pratical models from Porsche are Macan, Cayenne and Panamera)
      5 - Price point
6 - Quality overall(Porsche has good quality same as Mercedes)
      7 - Variety(no need to talk)
      8 - Performance(compare three of the highest performance range I'm talking about AMG One, GT Black Series, GT63S... x 918, GT2RS, GT3RS...)
      Talking about the Performance
      AMG One, lap time 6:35.183 > GT Black Series 6:43.616 > GT2RS 6:47.3 > GT3RS 6:49.328 > GT63S 7:23.009
Note that Porsche ran with the gt2rs and gt3rs more than once, while Mercedes only made once for each, and on wet track conditions
And the GT Black Series shouldn't be compared with GT2RS cuz GT2RS is based on Porsche GT2 cars, GT2 cars are made for high speed races on tracks with low amounts of downforce, while the GT3 cars are the opposite made for being better on cornes with huge amounts of downforce.
That said, GT Black Series shares same category with GT3RS, but is so incredible and well done(MASTERPIECE) that people compared with GT2RS and is able to beat him
If you want to say "but hey GT Black Series has more hp than GT3RS, suits better compare it with GT2RS🤓" remember that Porsche doesn't make high hp cars, gt3 cost +200k and has 510hp, with +200k you can have +600hp on Mercedes

    Both really stunning designs.
BMW needs to get off the bathsalts.
What I love most about the Mercedes is the low, tightly-wrapped feel of the hood and front quarter panels 10:43. The rear 3/4 view really shows how pushed forward, and to the edges, the front wheels are, and the hood and quarter panels are tightly wrapped (again, for lack of better word) around them. I prefer this newer model to the old. It looks far more fit for purpose, where the old looked really heavy, and frankly unweildy with the length of the front end.
I honestly don't care much for the front of the GT3 (the lower bumper area in particular) but understand that it is mostly form follows function here. I get a "minnow mouth" feel from the little oblong grill part. Which Porsche front is at 03:49? That is MUCH better looking to me. The rear though? AMAZEBALLS. It even has a bit of a retro feel. Love it!

the 911 GT3 will look better for longer, no question and when the question is buying one... I'd be keeping it forever so yeah, very easy choice. The AMG is great to drive, but I don't need the car to look like it'll swallow children. Overall it's a really well-designed car but I think it would look so much better if that grille was 30% smaller. I miss classiness from MB because they did it well. But no worries, I wouldn't buy it anyway. My grandfather has a 2021 911 Turbo S and I know that I will want my own 911 in the future
Edit: oh also, the interiors makes this so easy. I don't think any of these touchscreen heavy vehicles will look good in 10 years and definitely not 20 or 30. Which is the amount of time I'd keep my 911. It looks so much more timeless. I don't know anyone who owns an AMG GT due to simply aspirational goals or because their father or grandfather had one. I know two people that have one, one is a 23 year old kid with a rich step dad and the other is a mid-30's real estate guy who is a bit of an a-hole. lol. But I know more than 10 guys who have a 911 for that reason of aspiration. There's a reason the 911 stays so beautiful and an evolution of design

I'd never buy a car based on the fact that other people have them, that seems silly, I buy a car for me, not for people to see me in it - but the two people I know who have an AMG... they both care a lot about what other people think and want to be seen. for more years than I care to remember. Handing of the 911, in all kinds of
roadway configurations, just can't be beat. How do you compete with something

I have a 992 GT3 Touring and for a drive to a cup of coffee I fully agree. But I think the GT3 is the wrong 992 to compare with. It should be a 992 GTS or a 992 Turbo to be compared. The GT3 is the second best car I ever drove, but it is not suitable for everyday's use like the NEW AMG GT 4WD. Drive a GT3 once in a traffic jam, and you know what I mean 😂.
