- Four Spiritual Inquiries: Finding Heart Wisdom in Painful Times - Tara Brach [2023-10-18]
When we get stuck in difficult emotions like hatred, anger and fear, we are in a trance of separation - disconnected from the whole of our inner experience, each other and the web of life. This talk explores four inquiries that help us reconnect with presence and heart. Rather than reacting with aggression or blame, these inquiries allow us to respond to our struggling world with our naturally wise and caring heart.

Thank you for this beautiful meditation and talk. I have been struggling to cope with the recent violence in the Middle East. Your words were calming and a reminder to stay in the heart however painful that may be. May we all keep our hearts open during these stressful times.

Thankyou tara you are a true blessing to the world. Your kindness and wisedom, and presence is invaluable beyond words. May all beings find freedom from suffering, , the light only comes afer the darkest hour and freedom from pain is found in turning towards the pain inside with courage abd compassion and discovering our deepest truth. Life is bigger than all of us and I trust life will find a way I well only stop and listen to ourselves, each other and the workd around us. Love and courage to all beings.

TO BY FREE OF ME AND MY STORY . To fully see you and love free of me…FULL WITHOUT ME
1. What is my deepest aspiration? What does my heart most care about?
2. What's true here? What's happening inside me right now?
3. How can I meet what's happening with kindness?
4. What does love ask from me?

Peace of mind, kindness rhymes like Kin-ness of a kind... Are you only be kind to your kins?🦉

SHRAVANA IS SARASWATI
This didn't calm me, I do feel strongly that dropping bombs on an oppressed people daily is an outrageous act. "He who is not angry when there is just cause for anger is immoral. Why? Because anger looks to the good of justice. And if you can live amid injustice without anger, you are immoral as well as unjust." Thomas Aquinas
Suffice it to say the oppressor / oppressed dichotomy so popular in the west breaks down when we take a serious look at the history of the conflict, and what has been endured by both sides. War is hiddeous, but if the allies hadn't freed Europe from Nazis in WWII, I would not be here today. My grandfather went through suffering and death at scales that we cannot begin to imagine here in the modern US. Including the murder of his own siblings and parents at the hands of the Nazis in front of him.
Jews returned to Israel to make sure that our people will not suffer another industrial scale genocide. Meanwhile, Hamas has publicly declared its genocidal aspirations, and has demonstrated its seriousness by bombing pizzerias and weddings, kiddnapping civilians and torturing them, sending rockets into civilian areas etc for 20 years, since Israel pulled out of Gaza with the hopes for peace.
The world is not black and white. It's easy to come to that conclusion when the news shows a woman crying in front of a pile of rubble, but what they don't show are the weapons of war and tunnels used for carrying out brutal attacks like those on Oct 7th situated in and under those buildings. North Gaza was evacuated precisely to spare as many innocent lives as possible.
Now I've heard only 1 intruiging non-violent solution to this conflict. Get an agreement signed by both Israelis and Palestinian leadership - that for each incident of violence perpetraded by either side, that side must concede land proportional to the scale of the attack and of number of people killed. It seems a strange and probably never before tried idea, but honestly outside of that I see no choice but to root out Hamas and let Palestinians try to elect more moderate leadership. Israel may do the same, and pull out of the WB.
What else can be done to assure mutual security?
And what about the rape, butchering, beheading, burning and hostage takung of babies, women abd the elderly?
You cannot seriously expect to move 1 million people with road blockades no food and water no fuel from northern Gaza to the south all within 48 hours.
Please educate yourself more on the history of where Zionism came from and how the state of Israel came to be: Namely through brutal forced removal of Palestinians from their homes and illegal settlements and occupation of Palestinian land. Warning people to evacuate so the Israeli government can indiscriminately bomb their homes is not a justification. What Hamas did was violent and condemnable but the collective punishment of the people in Gaza is genocide and we must denounce Genocide unequivocally.
