  • This pair of very old Justin Boots have been worn and used to the fullest and have been resoled a few times and craziness done to them. The suede leather was so dry drastic measure's were needed to condition the suede and needed a Swedish bath. With new leather footbeds, gemming replacement and new welts these boots really pushed it with what should be done on them or what even could be......

You sir are a true craftsman with a passion for what you do. I have learned so much about shoe crafting. Thank you sharing and am anxiously waiting for more vids.

I’m speechless. I honestly didn’t think they’d look so good. Amazing, quality work.

I just got me a pair of vintage chocolate brown lizard skin Justin boots in my size that my step son found in a storage unit lot that he bid on and won. He was going to toss them out before he asked if I wanted them and I said “hell, yes I want ‘em!” I live in Texas and boots are a right of passage. Been wanting some “exotic skinned” boots as an upscale to my standard roper calfskin boots. The boots are in great condition but I’m planning to get them resoled and new heels put on just to make them newer. Since they were free to me, it won’t matter.
I really enjoyed this video. Made me put my boots on! 😊

400+ bucks buys a nice new pair of boots... Unless there is some sentimental value is a hefty amount hard to stomach.

Beautiful job. I can understand why you are not enthusiastic about doing such a high end re craft on cowboy boots.

A question. Why is it in harness work the stitching is sunk in a groove and with shoes and boots it is surfaced stitched.? On the bottom of the sole it would seem proper. If you pull the old stitches out, you have the holes on top of the welt as the guide, you punch them thru with an awl . Hand stitching that wont take that long. i did my holsters with a wooden vise I made at a handy height, stitched it while watching TV. Stitched it in a groove. Also in lots of the boots they dont burnish the edges of leather pieces so you see raw leather edges. Its like saw marks on wood work. SCHLOCK.
When i was a kid i remember taking our shoes to our local cobbler, Armando. He was a very nice guy. All those hammers with the flat heads and the trimmers and buffers were fascinating for a kid. The smell of leather. That must have been over 60 years ago. Hey Walt, how are you? , Soles and heels. Got it. Tell your mother and father I said hello. Be ready on Wednesday. How did he not whack his fingers , all those little nails and the hammers with the flat heads. it was a mystery.

If a. Boot has a Conposite toe when you resell it the boot or will it be the same as it was when you bought the boots having the composite toe back in win you get them back from a cobbler

Crazy question, I just watched your flip flop video, can you make me a pair of sandals like that? If so how much? it was the black plean sandals.

It is indeed surprising that so many of your suppliers didn't know what gemming is. It makes me wonder who supplies gemming to Allen Edmonds or any of the other shoe manufacturers.

Already at the beginning of the video, you are talking down about a half sole repair. Did you think that maybe the owner only wanted a half sole?
