Please read to the end since important information is at the end.
My drain pump continued to run even after turning off the washer. The only way I could get the pump to stop was to unplug the washer for several minutes but again when I plugged the washer back in and pressed the power button and the pump ran without ceasing. I do believer this to be a firmware error that is reset with a hard reset when doing these steps. I assume no responsibility for anyone's actions and I am only showing what I did. Basically, I opened the control module panel and lightly tapped on the the small round black capacitors which hold a charge, making sure I was insulated ( using plastic ) and not touching anything that would shock me. I also sometimes check the wire connections to see if they are loose or for any play and pressed the connectors back in securely. I used to repair circuit boards in computers a very long time ago and there is nothing wrong with this board, only that it needed a hard reset much like a Casio watch does when you change out the battery. This is a firmware error that the factory needs to address and doing these steps sometimes allows for a hard reset or hard boot by draining all of the electrical charge out of the capacitors. Replacing the control module board with another new control module board with the same firmware will not resolve any firmware input, output errors. So, purchasing another new circuit board with the same firmware is costly and worthless since this is a firmware issue and not a hardware issue. The same firmware error will eventually reappear with even a new control module board. This is an issue that LG needs to address with a proper firmware update fix. The only temporary fix I have found is to fully reset the washer by draining all of the electrical charge out of the control module programmable memory which is what a hard reset is. So far I have only had to do these steps once a month or less and have been successful but sometimes the reset requires 3 attempts at doing these steps before the washer fully resets. This may seem primitive but the objective is to remove any and all electrical charge from the control module to clear all errors. I am a former CTG/ISSC ( IBM programming division ) employee who has also worked on a Debian team with people who wrote firmware for GNU/Linux in the past.

I just tried this after hours and hours of trying to fix my washing machine. Worked perfectly. And my son now thinks I'm amazing. Haha. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this video and provide such clear explanation. A great gift from God to our family tonight.

Discharged the capacitors onboard by tapping on it?? That is a new one for me.
    Interesting.
Did this repair hold up, or do you still have to repeat it from time to time?

This is a firmware error, so I have had to repeat the process from time to time but not anytime in the past 2 months. I leave the top screws out and that makes the process much quicker for me if needed. I do not see the point in my replacing the circuit board since the firmware is likely to be the same on the new board. Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the video, I have a red LG front loader and the drain cycle keeps running then after tem minutes or so, it show the DE error code. I replaced the drain pump motor (old one seems ok) but I still change it, But still keep stuck in draining cycle. Check drain tube and normal. So I'll try this if my front loader has the circuit board similar to yours. Thanks

Hi ! The problem that I'm having with my washer is mine is slow letting the water out and Its spinning for a little bit then stop and then that OE comes on and that flashes on & off and stop unlocking the door, and when u start it back up it asks like it's draining but doing nothing but samething so what is that pump or what.

      See LG ( please read):
      www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/oe-error-code-top-load-washer-CT00000305-1425330996723
I myself would also try unplugging the washer to clear the data.
Your problem is different and not the same as the problem I have in the video. Merry Christmas!
