- Atlantic Salmon returning to the Bunduff River in Co.Sligo and Co.Leitrim from their feeding grounds in Iceland and Norway. The exhausted Salmon display courage and determination to reach their spawning ground further up river and give life to the next generation. The Annual Salmon Run on the Bunduff River takes place from June through August. Its understood that Salmon navigate to their river of birth using the earths magnetic field and smell. They enter the river in May and rest in deep pools before attempting their ascent during the first river flood. (Click on Keane Films Logo for more Sligo Videos)

Amazing footage
Really enjoyed it
Been salmon fishing in sligo past ten years but never fished the duff
Hopefully next year.
Fabulous video that captures these magnificent specimens so well. Their power and persistence are amazing. So sad their numbers have declined so much. When I was younger we would lots of them in the winter time and now hardly any.
Thank you Neil. 2019 was a good year for them, maybe there is still hope. Ken
A beautifully shot video, Ken. Really shows the river at its best. All your long hours spent videoing on the river resulted in a video, the likes of which I've never seen before.
Thank you Tom and for your invaluable advice on the River
Fantastic footage Ken. I walked the Bunduff, and shoot footage also, around Aug 2019. A really beautiful river 👌👌👌
Thank you Aidan, I enjoyed your very informative video on the river when I was doing my research. I hope to have a full length video on the river shot over 12 months out for viewing in late spring/early summer. Ken
Amazing footage and great to see!!
Beautiful to see such strong salmon, but they don’t need to go through such a tough task…. The river should be modified to suit there return
Fantastic sight. Excellent video.
Thank you Shane, it was our privilege to witness it, lets hope they keep coming.
Terrific Ken. You might alert Sligo heritage and History page to it....thre were quesions on there only last night as to why salmon dont make it up to Lough Arrow from Ballisodare....your footage explains it all...even with a fish ladder!
Thank you Damien. Yes I will send them the link. It was a record year I'm told for salmon entering the Bunduff River and it was a real privilege to experience the run
Lovely :-)
Thank you Tony
Hi Ken! Well done! Fantastic images!!!

How many jump before to reach the top of the falls ? One of the most beautiful fish to the earth.
Thank You, well to answer your question. As many as it takes, this is a very determine fish, Long may it last
Is the runs any good?
Superb video the odds are stacked against them getting past there any ideas of what percentage make it ?
Thank you Kevin, a good percentage of the Salmon made it up river this year and we filmed them spawning over Christmas week for an longer video on the rivers life which should be ready in late spring 21.
