Chihiro was the first character I completed Free Time Events and School Mode events with. My reason for this is because he's probably the nicest of Makoto's classmates... followed by Sayaka with Hina not too far behind.

Seeing how the School Mode Events categorise Chihiro as a boy, but Makoto uses she/her pronouns to refer to him, I kinda feel uncomfortable about it though in this sense Makoto doesn't know that he's a guy yet.
On another note, it is canon that Chihiro is a cis male who crossdresses as a girl and that should be the truth that we all know and support.
However, I and others have HC or alternate changes that Chihiro is a Trans Male (FtM) or we use they/them pronouns when introducing him as a character in fanfiction per se. I mean, nothing wrong with it tbh it's just what people prefer. It's what I prefer, and we could have reasons for so or just like it in general.
So yeah I alternate between using he/him and they/them according to the fan creations I see, I'm fine with either. So like if it does bother you then I'm sorry. But please don't attack other people with different opinions. We should all respect each other for what we think [:

That doesn't mean that they're a boy, only that they have a penis. If Chihiro is a trans girl, and thus a girl that was born with a penis, Sakura and Kyoto would only know that. Anime is notoriously bad at dealing with LGBT+ characters, especially trans characters, and if Chihiro was trans then it would make sense for Monokuma to disrespect their memory by saying that they are a boy.
Honestly from what we've been given, I don't think that he's transgender. Chihiro (Via Monokuma) stated that he wanted to be stronger so he can get away from all the bullying he's been through. Monokuma described him dressing as a girl being "Armor" So In my opinion I think that Chihiro at first maybe wanted to be a girl forever so people can't bully him, but when in the killing game he wanted to change and stop pretending to be female. Though again this is just my opinion and isn't a confirmation at all whatsoever.

I literally thought the same thing when I was first going through case 2, and I totally get it, it's 110% weird that his genitals are found out when he's dead, but he's actually closer to being a trans boy than to being a trans girl; he effectively just started presenting female to escape bullying for being weak or possibly gender non-conforming, but he's dissatisfied with it for the same reasons pre-transition trans people are dysphoric and wants to just come out as a cis boy.
It's not like Watarase Jun, who is 100% a trans girl but transphobic weebs just go "I don't care."
He is not transgender, so please just stop.
