- Mci bus needs some serious attention. The air leaks and oil leaks are very bed. Fan hub assembly removal, blower removal and more.

I may (or may not, as the case may be) give you guff on some things, but Scott, you and your son do EXCELLENT work and your ethics are the highest in the automotive industry. Blessings to you and best wishes towards your increased business and prosperity.
It's an adventure every time you look under one of those buses. Probably never a cheap adventure either..Great videos. Thanks.
You are just like the DOT inspectors, except you help get them up to snuff before they leave the Mountain! Those beautiful coaches saved, 1 at a time.
Those are the MCI buses I grew up riding on. They're definitely my favorite.
That bus has more bubbles than a Lawrence Welk show.
This bus could have it's own foam party!
It may be bad now but when it leaves, Tom and the Farmhands will have a safe dependable ride!
That radius rod bushing was most certainly 'f....... not there!' 🤣🤣 Great work as always Scott.
Saying Hi in beautiful Northern AZ...One day..I will be driving my bus up that hill....first I must get a bus....but mark my word..we shall meet one day....
As always, great work and very thorough. I used to freeze the bushing before pressing it in. Goes in easy and expands tight. You save these folks BIG bucks doing it right the first time. Sure to last a while.
Solid pallets make great out door work benches. Cheap or free and the slats let all the crud fall through. I don’t think I could work on the ground like you both do my knees are to bad.
"Anything and Everything" and you could have a sign saying the same above the door? Appreciated the footage of pressing in that part with the press. I never see that before. Until next time ✌
It must be a love/hate experience, taking your bus to BGM,love that your getting problems fixed, hate that he always finds way more problems than you thought.
Your thinking oh my brakes ain't bad ,and then you find out you have 92 air leaks
When we first got the bus, I flew to San Antonio and drove it home, it had almost no brakes whatsoever. Nothing like driving a bus you've never seen 1100 miles with no brakes
@@rb25064 I can imagine that was a stressful drive,my worst was driving home a Ford Falcon I'd dragged out from under a tree,it had brakes but I could almost do a quarter turn on the steering wheel with no change of direction!
Our 30 ton press has accumulated a whole box full of old bearing races etc. Don't know what we would do without them.
So. Any thoughts about putting some kind of barriers up to stop buses driving right into the apartment? Watching that guy pull in got me to thinking about a brake failure. Just saying! Take care!!
I do miss the on the road trips you use to do to fix peoples buses but how good is it now that they bring them to you and you have that fantastic workshop to work in side out of the weather and with a nice concrete floor instead of dirt 👍👍
I think that bus has more holes than the titanic
Titanic only had one, but it was longer than this bus.
That belt looks like it's playing tennis with the guy in the court above
Keep up the great work scott was a bit hesitant to follow as im not a detroit fan but by golly im glad i did learning so much from your channel awesome job man
Suggest you spray AT 205 on rubber air bags, bushings, etc, a couple times a year. It works to keep rubber from cracking . Use it as an additive to oil, and hydraulic systems, to maintain and stop leaks.......also, with the blower, isn't leaky seals a good reason to at least check to see if bearings are shot ???
Pretty good video man lot of knowledge thank you...
Go to Harbor freight buy a air operated 20 ton jack and replace the hand pump one on your press.
I wrote a few great lines for your theme song Scott.....Them Dern Flippin Sparkplugs wont crossthread /not worth a dime.Rather be drivin a VW with a backbrace holdin my spine.COLDSTART
That owner is lucky he made it up the mountain. When you get done with him, he will be able to go down safely. You guys have your work cut out. Good Luck.
How is that valve cover going to communicate with the ECM if you take the wire harness out?
Its Gonna Be Hella Safe💯 on the Road🚌 but 💲💲💲 For Now ‼‼‼ Great Job as Usual there Fellas👍🏾👏🏽👊🏽‼‼‼
Great video.,gives me things to check on my possible new MCI tri axel.....👍👍👍,,,,
I'm going to check it over tomorrow.......see if it runs and will air up...?,,,,,,we shall see.
I sure hope everything works out for you. I am excited about upgrading to a bus.
Good luck.
Leaks from evey possible seal and orifice on those air systems. Need that cha-ching sound effect again.
That's gonna be one happy bus!
Jeez that long belt gives me anxiety lol
Looks like another bus that hasn’t had much maintenance on the air system and suspension in a very long time. Should perform as new when it rolls out of the shop !
At 12:38 If the fans were reversed they would still blow air the correct direction but be much less efficient. The rotation would be the same but the little lover/blades would be angled incorrectly for free air flow.
Nice to be able to gat in your bus after a few days and have 100 lbs of air.
1:16 - Sounds like _(original) "Godzilla"_ with a cold - lol!
Yes very eerie sounding
@@BusGreaseMonkey - I'm still watching the video - I can only imagine, what's going on with those brakes - See ya on the other side. Cheers-
Might make a trip to the shop if I get this MCI....if I feel it's something over my ability..
Jet-A might burn cleaner in that heater than diesel fuel. It's certainly cheaper than grocery store kerosene per gallon.
Was that a fox that ran by at 0.51 ?

SOUNDS LIKE BIDEN FARTING ON CAMILLA BARKER BOWLES
I love that sound
this bus air system makes as much bubble as a kids party lol
'Tapered Cones' had to laugh on that one....
The Cha-Ching Juice strikes again 🤑 or Safety Bubbles ? Good thing for BGM's Scott & Tyler 💯👍☮
another good video, keep them coming
It's Sunday night and Tom's bus is blowing bubbles... Only thing missing is Lawrence Welk.
Wow, that makes me wonder if commercial trucks & buses are really maintained the way they should be…
Rv’s are exempted almost no regulation in most states
Put those steel shield bushings in the freezer for a few hours .little to no effort needed to seat them
It was 30° overnight in the shop
I always cringe seeing the Belt of Death lol.
why don't some one build a belt retention system for that .bolt 2 pulleys on the out side of the belt ,with a big bolt or spring to pull them together
So what do the big overhead fans do, with that belt going up vertically? Is that in someway supporting the turbo,? Thanks. So watching further seems there is a turbo? But a blower as well? Another edit... Must be air cooled...
Radiator “fans”
How is the homestead coming along? Haven't seen any pictures/video of it for a few weeks.
Im pretty sure you can buy an Air/over kit for that hydraulic press you have Scott for pretty cheap. Time is money son... And your arms aint getting any younger neither.
:)
I had air over on there i stole it for under the bus.
@@BusGreaseMonkey Doh! Well use some of the profits from this bus to get a second one :)
Its the MCI bubble machine :p
dang looks like the lawerance whelk show under that bus
That Poor L'il Beauty is Leaking like a Sieve...
Thank Goodness there's "The Onsite Surgeons" in the Operating Room!!!
< B- )
The 6cyl Detroit engine’s just seem sooo much easier to repair than the V8s
When replacing airbags, is there any reason you couldn't use a small vacuum pump to collapse the bag, slide it into place, and then release? Might save a bunch of extra jacking to stuff the bag back in.
That sounded like Tacos for dinner .
Why on those m c I buses is No guard around the big belt that look so dangerous
That must be the worst bus for air leaks I think I have ever seen. How long is it since the air system last had a service? Excellent video there
Do you have any experience changing a clutch in one of these busses? My clutch is out and I have a new one but I don't know how to go about changing it. Or getting it out in the first place.
Almost said this radius arm bushing is completely fucked lmao 🤣
Wonder who’s been doing the previous maintenance for it to be this bad? It’ll be mint when it leaves that’s for sure! 🇦🇺🍺🍺
No way that was even close to passing the air brake test...2 or 3 pumps of the pedal before out of air?
Scott have you ever heard of solar panels on a car?????
I have to ask y'all if you've seen a push behind floor sweeper that looks like a lawn mower w/o a motor? Saw one for my 1st time at an estate sale Fri. Would work good on all that empty floor space you have. I couldn't use it b/c my barns are used for storage.
Brakes , bushings and bags , sensing a reoccurring theme , no ? Oh and plenty of leaks .
Do you plan on enclosing the end of the shop eventually or just leave it an open bay?
That funny leaning Chinatown bus on 95 is this what they look like? Just wondering if you see a bus on the road you can look at it and say "he's a leaker"
What was the VPN that bgm favored? Or have they fallen out of favor?
Great vid! What was that sound at T = 1:17 czcams.com/video/1WmWcLpk-Lw/video.html ? Assume it's the brakes but is that a sign of anything bad?
Knew we were in for a treat when you showed the wiring harness entrapped in the valve cover! Must have had a very careless or overworked maintenance man at some point to do that.
And like everyone, I shuddered when I heard you said "air leaks" and "easy" in the same sentence! But it made for a great video. Thank you.
Secret sauce recipe for the heaters 1 gal gas to 4 gallon diesel burns clean and less than $20.00 for 5 gal. And no it is not going to blow up you safety Sally's
do you see a crack at 17:14 in the frame the radios rod attaches to the frame czcams.com/video/1WmWcLpk-Lw/video.html or was it a light effect ?????????????????
its a diesel ,it leaks .I bet Flex-seal would not work on any leaks you find .tiny bubbles in the bus
What exactly does this fan assembly do
Suck air through 2 radiators up there
Once again I'm gonna ask a stupid question, but what are the big fans above the motor used for?
The radiators sit in that space above the engine, the “squirrel cage” fans provide cooling.
@@glossamano1899 ok thank you
What in the world zipped past at the 0:51 mark?
Sharp eyes you have.
A low flying goblin,
or perhaps a turkey.
Was going to ask the same question.
It's the reflection of the sun from the door of the bus as it opens.
Edit: It's not the mirror.
This ain't gonna be cheap. Or easy. I'm betting those parts are pricey. Why wouldn't they be???
Time for some garage doors…..
Man, seems of late, should've bought the diaphragms in a gross package! Funny, how stuff comes in waves.
Are there annual inspections for privately own busses?
depends if your state has state inspections. only commercial bus and trucks are required federally
DD3's = headaches
Who ever designed this needs their head stuck in that squirrel cage blower!
Finding air leaks fun ,fixing air leaks not fun
omg, a wire compressed between bottom of valve cover & valve cover gasket @ 8:48 - even I know better than this & should never be done
1
That bus has more air leeks then Joe Biden!
