I think this was a beautiful touch to the scene. The fact Tony was so caught up with facing the reality that he's speaking to his father as a friend, as a comrade or even as a amicable employee. Tony holding the flowers was simply him listening to his dad, doing as he's told and not even thinking about his peeve. Just a kid talking to his dad, a dad that passed long ago, a kid who's become a dad of his own. Lots of healing in that scene for Tony. This is such a horrible take and I really wish people would stop coming to this conclusion. Infinity War and Endgame only work as well as they do because of all the movies that came before them. They are the epic conclusion of a decade worth of buildup. Comparing the slow start of the new saga to the dramatic finish of the last one is genuinely idiotic.
