I think this was a beautiful touch to the scene. The fact Tony was so caught up with facing the reality that he's speaking to his father as a friend, as a comrade or even as a amicable employee. Tony holding the flowers was simply him listening to his dad, doing as he's told and not even thinking about his peeve. Just a kid talking to his dad, a dad that passed long ago, a kid who's become a dad of his own. Lots of healing in that scene for Tony. What i wouldn't give to have 5 minutes with my old man. We went out on bad terms and then he passed. Now i am a father myself and would love to just talk to him. Enjoy your parents guys they are here for a finite amount of time.
Not just that, but speaking to his father... about himself... before he was born. With so much going on during the Time Heist, I think it took a couple seconds to sink in that his actual day of birth was coming up in a few months.

This is such a horrible take and I really wish people would stop coming to this conclusion. Infinity War and Endgame only work as well as they do because of all the movies that came before them. They are the epic conclusion of a decade worth of buildup. Comparing the slow start of the new saga to the dramatic finish of the last one is genuinely idiotic.

Let's be real, Robert played that scene in the elevator perfectly. You can see the emotions running through Tony as he's seeing his father and realizing the moment he stepped into. The looks of deep thought on his face when he's replaying the stories his mother and father have told him and Tony recalling those to piece together the clues knowing now what he didn't know back then.
I've seen more of these "bet you didn't catch this" videos than I can count, but this one actually impressed me. I knew about the peeve but didn't catch that in Endgame. What a great detail
