Interior Designer here....the darker one makes the room more visually quiet.
Agreed! The light background made it look a little too busy IMO
Yes, I agree! I think it opens up possibilities with the other decor in the room - artwork and furnishings.
Also designer, and totally agree. The darker one is more sophisticated.
Is it just me or does the one on the lighter background seem to have a yellower tint to it? I know the white in both prints are the same, but to my eyes it looks yellower on the left, which makes me feel more energetic. The blue background feels calmer.
The light background shows off the design much better. Love he design a lot.
I think the dark one looks perfect with the trim-feels more cohesive and still bright enough to me.
I just asked my designer girlfriend and i think she has a good point. If you go with the dark background, it's not so much of a statement as the light background- it kinda blends in. That leaves a really cool opportunity do do something cool with some statement furniture! If you go light background, it looks great but it also calls a lot of attention to itself.
I absolutely agree with this comment! âșïžđ€
The dark one. Seems richer, more unique, has more confidence, but still has a delicacy to it.
From a designer's perspective, I'm with Phillip on the darker background but Anna, the design is beyond magnificent! đ
This designer disagrees with you.
The light one.
Yep, but Iâm not a fan of the yellowish white
Dark
The paper is lovely in both versions, but the light background gives the room just that bit of (very slight) contrast it needs--particularly with the full wall of paneling in the blue-green color.
I wonder if the light one will allow more mixing in of other fabric patterns in the room. It's also a nice balance with the check floor next to it when the door is open.
For sure the lighter one
I like the darker one. The wallpaper looks like it's part of the room because it blends nicely into the panelling.
agree! the dark wallpaper really feels like you're actually surrounded by plants. through the camera it looks so surreal.
I love the darker background. It makes the room an instant smile!đ
Dark one for sure, the richness & texture flows with the trim colour versus the white that kind of becomes a focal point for me.
The room has so much natural light that I think you can go with the dark.
The darker one gives the room richness...and you can see the pattern more. â€
I also agree!!!
The dark one is a perfect match. It's smooth, it's soft and sleepy, I love it. The light one makes the room colder and more restless.
Absolutely the dark one - it makes the room feel calmer to me.
I prefer the dark one, it's more subtle. You two are continually entertaining and amazing!
The dark one, for two reasons: one, it will provide a continuous visual impression from the painted wall to the papered wall, just enhanced with light embellishment; and two, it competes less with the tile in the bathroom, again providing just the right balance of cohesion and contrast.
I like the lighter one, the flowers are more visible on the lighter one. Incredible stamp, really nice â€.
I came to say the same thing! Both are beautiful, but I feel you can see the details better on the light one
I agree with the first thing Anna said: With the green background, it's too much green. And it would make the whole space too dark. That's not good when choosing an outfit.
The darker back ground has a WOW effect to it. It draws your attention right a way. Beautiful work. God Blessed you with such talent..
Dark one, the warmer feeling is more appealing for such a large room.
Definitely the wallpaper with the dark background, itâs beautiful
yes, once the two 'swatches' are hanging on the wall...can see the dark background blends well with the trim
Brings a softer look to the room †itâs beautiful đ«¶đ»
The darker one for me. Both are lovely. Itâs harder when your choices are both so wonderful!
I prefer the dark one. It's subtler than the light one and doesn't look as busy. It's a beautiful design!
The darker one is more subtle and calmer. Love the design. Think it's my favourite. Love the twirling tendrils and the scratchy background giving texture. I vote for the darker one in this context. Well done Anna
I love both, but I like the lighter background better! Nice contrast with the paintwork
I definitely think the one with the dark background looks better. The white is nice but I think it contrasts too much with the wood, whereas the dark background blends with it a bit.
Agree. Both are beautiful but I prefer the lighter one in the room.
I agree, and if I recall, the room is faced north (?) so a lighter color would fit much better
The dark one is more subtle and calming, perfect for a master suite. I think the light one, although very beautiful, would end up making the expanse of the room look too busy. The light one would be beautiful in a smaller room such as an en-suite, hallway, music room, etc.
...the lighter one for the wardrobe/dressing room!
For me, definitely the blue background wallpaper looks best. It will open up the opportunity to use bright accent colors in the room with pillows, curtains and so on.
Art teacher here đ... I prefer the light one because the white is slightly warmer as the white over the darker one..
The light one makes the room look warmer while the darker ones make the room look and feel cooler...
Both are beautiful, but the light one creates warmth and strong constrast against the darker colour on the rest of the room.
Sending love and luck from South Africa!
Iâm with Phillip! I prefer the dark background, it make the room so elegant.
The darker looks peaceful and moody. For the bedroom "less flowers, more passion", time for some loving dear Phillip more than the house.
The light version for the wardrobe, the dark one for the bedroom. Having such a print, I would want to use it in more than one place đ
Correct answer and let me add, it is stunning!!!
Exactly I agree!
I like the idea of the darker one in the bedroom, and the lighter one in the wardrobe room.
I really like that idea, light for the dressing room and dark for the bedroom. But I am looking forward to seeing the passion flower one, too.
I like the idea of using both for the different rooms too.
I think the darker one looks more elegant, I really love the design â€ïž
I prefer the darker one from how it looks on camera. Somehow the lighter one looks more green/yellow. Also the dark one blends seemlessly and has a relaxed feel. No matter which color you choose though, the pattern is beautiful! You did an amazing job as always đ„°
I agree with the interior designer who posted. The darker background, to me, makes the space feel calmer.
Me as well.
I liked the light one much better, it more in ceep with the chĂąteau.
The darker one! Itâs so gorgeous and the bathroom floor compliments beautifully
The darker background looks more elegant in my opinion, more monochromatic and less busy. Because with the light background, strong contrast between the pattern and the back looks less modern. Great job. Keep it up!! Love it đ Miami ,USA.
Phillip! That takes running with scissors to a whole new level!!!!!
Was that you I was mind melding with?
Lol I was thinking the exact same thingâŠwhat could go wrong
A dangerous level.
As a kid I was told you shouldn't do that, but now that I've seen such a prominent influencer do it......
see what she did there ? brilliant, love it
The dark background is lovely, and I would prefer it. The lighter background is somehow more tropical and less formal.
I like them both. I think the darker one is more subtle and will look less busy in the whole room than the light one.
I think they're both beautiful in different ways - but in that space, I think the darker background option suites the space better. đ
The dark one matches the tile in the bathroom and makes the transition seamless!
The darker one, and itâs very unusual, I agree with Phillip this time.
The dark one!! The light one is lovely, but it looks busy. The dark one feels more peaceful.
Darker one!!! You can lighten it up with lighter decorations. Lighter woods/linens etc. But both look absolutley stunning. I really want to buy your wallpaper Anna!
I vote definitely for the dark background!!! Itâs beautiful, but I agree theyâre both gorgeous
The dark paper really looks rich.
They're both beautiful but I personally prefer the dark background đ
They are both gorgeous, but the darker one is so much more calming and relaxing, and I think for this room, and the trim, it blends the best! It might be easier to decorate as well. So I say the DARK!
I prefer the dark background because it will blend better with the room making it look like a garden and making the woodwork fade into the wallpaper and viceversa.
I like the light background.
Darker one - gives much calmer look, especially for bedroom
The white one looks busier. The darker one more calming. For me, the darker.. Very beautiful designs!!!!
The darker one looks more elegant.
Love the âlight oneâ. A lot!!!
You both are such hard workers and inspirational. I really like the light one so much better, but no matter which they are both amazing!
Finally Anna is getting her chateau wallpapers produced commercially. At last đâ€
Definitely the light đĄone. It brightens the room.
I actually love the darker background!!! I seem to be the odd one out but to me it's warmer and blends beautifully!
The dark one with the white flowers. It feels brighter to me because the white stands out more.
Seeing it through a camera lens is hard to judge because we donât see it in actual light. Iâm pretty sure youâll find out yourselves what is best and both will look stunning. Such a great work, Anna!
I like the dark one better, it looks softer on the eyes and not as busy as the lighter one.
Light one ! 100%
Anna, you are an artist. Do not ever again think of yourself as a casual dabbler.....such beauty you create!!!!
I love the dark background because it creates a less stark contrast, making it softer looking.
Both so beautiful but light one for that room.
I like the darker background. It compliments the painted paneling. Itâs beautiful, good job!
The garden is looking lovely in the springtime. The fact that your hydrangeas are blue is another sign that you have acidic soil⊠from what I understand hydrangeas will bloom blue in acid conditions, purple in neutral soil, and pink in alkaline soil. Pretty cool đ
I grew up in an area of Hawaii where the volcano makes the rain slightly acidic, and I never knew hydrangeas came in anything but blue until I grew up.
The light one for sure. It will give more light to the room đ
Both wallpaper samples are absolutely beautiful! However, I do prefer the darker one. It has a peaceful, calming effect for me.
I love the darker one. Seems calming and peaceful to me. Itâs lovely. You are so talented!
The gardens are shaping up beautifully! I can see wanting to walk the grounds in the morning, noon, evening, and at night to get the full effect of how light plays on your gardens. I think it is magnificent!
I nearly forgot! In the US, your impliment of mass destruction is called either a weed whip or a weed whacker.đ
For once I agree with Philip. The darker one is so elegant and makes the design absolutely pop out. The pattern is totally dreamy - very much in the artistic spirit of Honfleur. Iâm so happy for you that your design aspirations are taking off.
I like the light one.đđ
The darker one is absolutely beautiful.
Phillip "I can inject some passion in the bedroom" I am dead! LOL! Adore the slo-mo shots of Phillip jumping up to clip the tree branches especially that last jump when he landed with his feet perfectly together (3:28) so good! Both wallpapers would look lovely but I think the darker one just might be best! Well done Anna!
Both versions of the wallpaper are lovely. Either would work in the bedroom but my choice would be the darker one. Phillip in slow motion trimming the trees is hilarious. â€
Definitely the dark background. Lovely and restful.
Light one, as it contrasts with the wood trim very nicely. The Passion flower print is the best! đ
Phillip your pruning ballet was a delight! đđđđ
LMFAO! Remember the Q&A video where you guys said that you couldnât imagine doing videos without storyboarding? Please donât! That clip with Phillip jumping & cutting the tree branches is absolutely comedic!!!! đđ
I like the light one better! It makes a nice contrast with the solid paint of the doors and the rest of the walls. Def my favâ€
Definitive the dark one, it makes rhe room very harmonius and will make an elegant descrete bakgrund for furnitures.
Dark one for sure! it's classy and elegant. the light one gives a nursery vibe...
the dark one blends with the cupboard walls creating a cohesive cocoon feel.
The light one !
I dieđđđđđ watching Phillip jumping up and down cutting branches.
You planted some great specimen in your garden. It will be spectacular one day.
Ziggy is a good companion. Help you clean the garden bedsđ. When you are able, you should get raised beds. Let taxing on the body
The prints are gorgeous.
The dark one goes so well with the room. And Iâm with Philip on seeing (almost) no green here.
The design is more prominent in the light one, much more subtle in the dark one. I think I prefer the dark background. I enjoy the subtlety.
I agree with PhillipâŠâŠI love the darker one. Itâs stunning and I donât think it shall âdarkenâ the room. Not with all of the windows. Stunning!
The lighter one for sure. You can see the beautiful print a lot more clearly. It also gives an airiness to the room, while the darker one makes the room feel more closed in with so much of the aqua color.
The design is beautiful! I have to agree with Phillip on this one. The darker feels more elegant and calming.
the contrast created by the lighter background is very elegant đ
I like the lighter one. It brightens the room and makes the wooden stand out more.
The dark one makes for a more calming room to sleep in.
The navy background with mint/aquamarine flowers would be top notch!
The light background is nicer. Lighter and brighter
the slowmo of Philip jumping to trim the tree makes me LOLđđ
BUT QUITE DANGEROUS !!
So dark and dangerous, but so exquisitely executed đ. Also, Anna, the wallpaper design is gorgeous! Itâs interesting how the darker sample feels calmer and the lighter sample feels busier. Same design but the color changes everything.
The light one looks more cottage core, the dark one looks more royal. Which is fascinating, because it is the same print!
Beautiful wallpaper! Both would look stunning in the room, but I personally prefer the dark one for the dressing room. It's calm and cohesive and will marry well with all the other textures that will inevitably end up in the room too ;-)
I prefer the dark one for a bedroom. The light one looks like it would be better in a kitchen, but the dark one makes it all flow together better and will look calmer in a bedroom
The darker one looks gorgeous and more refined.
The dark one is my favourite for a bedroom. Beautiful design!
Anna - The enormous amount of work you have put into your design is reflected in the finished product. What ever you decide I am sure you will be happy with the outcome.
I agree with Philipp, the dark background does it for me. But they're both lovely!
