- Please allow me to be your tour guide on this adventure to an old castle ruin.
This castle ruin is located in the town of Frankenstein, Germany.
The structure is believed to be constructed in the early 1200s.
The first mention of a Knight of Frankenstein was recorded in 1142.
In 1340 the male lineage of the Frankenstein family was considered extinct.
Ownership of the castle and lands changed hands often in the 1300s to 1500s
In 1586, the main tower was demolished by Johannes Engel
There was a search for treasure in the castle keep in 1602. There was no mention if anything was found.
Spanish troops under General Ambrosius Spinola captured the castle in 1621.
Extensive restoration of the castle began in 1883 and continued to the end of the 20th century.

It is quite a hike up a hill to get there, but it is worth it. It is a nice, old piece of history
@Metal Detecting NC that was a great video
That place looks amazing love seeing natural decay
also loved the creepy music gave the video some character to keep you on the edge of your seat
Just as well Steve wasn't there with you on the roof as he's petrified of heights 😂
I happened upon some music called "broken piano" and I thought it would be perfect for the video... along with some other voice dubs to make it creepy
Awesome adventure keep up he great videos
Thank you, Edwin. I am glad you enjoyed the video, and thank you for your support.
these videos take alot to make. it's not easy...nice one Mike interesting as bro...
Thank you PJ. I still have a lot of unused footage from that place. It did take a fair amount of work to put it together.

You're welcome, it was an awesome place to visit.
That was a great video Mike! Very old and interesting castle. If only you could have detected around, maybe find one of Frankenstein's Neck bolts😂
To find a neck bolt would have been awesome. LMAO!!! It would be in the iron range though
THAT IS REALLY COOL MIKE. DAM I WONDER IF YOU COULD DETECT THERE???? LOVE THE SPOKIE MUSIC, & NOISES. AWESOME TOUCH. YOU GETTING SO GOOD WITH YOUR VIDEOS
Thank you George. I thought I would get creative with it, since it is Frankenstein's castle. LMAO
One heck of a DEFENSIVE PosiTion!! JJ
It probably took a hundred years to build that place. Even back then, their engineering was impressive
@@Metal-Detecting-NC Really impressive!
A wonderful video. you did a great job. Keep up the good work
Thank you, I sure will. I am glad you enjoyed it.
That Place Should Be Metal Detected Extensively So That We All Can See What's Found 👍🙂💘
In Germany, you need a government permit for metal detecting or I would have.
This looks awesome!
It was an awesome place to visit for sure.
Nice tour of the old castle, Mike. 👍
Thank you, The video does not do the site justice, although I tried. There is something awe inspiring about actually being at the physical site where history took place. I am glad you enjoyed the video as much as I enjoyed making it.
Mike this would have been perfect just before Halloween. When did you make the trip? 🧛♂️🎃
I made the trip fairly recently. I have more castle videos I need to do, but I will space them out.
Cool!
Thank you Jimmy
Awesome video. Very cool. 👍👍👍😎

Thank you Jerry. I am glad you liked it. It was an awesome trip
Excellent video!
Thank you, Joe. I miss you, brother
@@Metal-Detecting-NC Miss you, too. 👊🏻
it's still in pretty good condition too. I wonder if new houses would last this long 😂
They knew how to build things to last 850 years ago. These days... not so much.
never knew there was such a place. I thought it was all fiction. wow that was cool bro
I did too until I saw the village of Frankenstein on the map. Of ourselves, I had to go see it.
Another GREAT video full of world renown history. The old black & white transistion was great editing, and the piano background was a perfect idea. Even the still shots help add to the overall "feel" ... I was just thinking how great it would be IF we could use copywritten music....You could have edited/added a time scape photography edit while treking up all those steps while background track plays Edgar Winter "Frankenstien" I take it you have a mixing board for audio edits or a DAW (digital audio work station) for recording your own tracks? I got a great idea for a KILLA colab we could do ....I'll have to send idea via email...otherwise some other detecting musicians might use the idea.
Thank you very, very much for the awesome comment. I do have some recording equipment but it should be upgraded. The creepy music is called "Broken Piano" that I thought would be perfect for this video. I also added some other sound effects like the "Help Me." I look forward to one day collaborating with you on a music project.
You were so lucky to go there!❤
Yes, I truly was lucky to go there. I am in the process of making another German castle video
@@Metal-Detecting-NC can't wait to see it!
Pretty cool man I'd like to that out someday
I might have to return some day... next time with my metal detector. The castle was very awesome with a very rich history
Definitely that would be awesome. Imagine finding coins from then. Like an old sword or something I'll be awesome
