I just wanted to thank you for this video. The power went out in my truck and 5 mechanics could not figure out what was the problem until I showed one mechanic your video and he was able to fix the truck. The ground cable that attaches to the frame was frayed and breaking apart.

the way he explains in details is hard to find on utube..thank you..alot of mechanics automatically think everyone knows the important details and only show overall..as they say,,DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS..with videos like this saves drivers valuable time and $$$$
This is awesome. I had exact same problem today, after I watched this video I just used my jumper cables to bypass this wire and the truck started right up! Took the cables off and truck still starts like it should. Definitely buying a new cable tomorrow because it looks like this one is on its way out. Thanks for the help here! Saved me a bunch of money

Wow awesome video totally fixed my problem, no electrical thing was working in my truck and tightened the bolt on that wire and everything is working now
Thanks so much for posting this video! Without it, my automatic 2018 Volvo 860 would have had to be towed to the repair shop. The very cable with the relay (that was clearly pointed out in the video) was the problem. Apparently, the relay was shorted out. Once replaced, all was good. Thanks again!

Do you know why : my truck when i start 15 fuse shut off and disconnect behind dash
I disconnected engin heater and nothing problem for one week and again have same problem.

In my Volvo, the ground connection problem was on the ISX' enginess block, right below the fuel filter. Removed and cleaned everything, make a new ground eye terminal because it was weak, install it back to the block and problem solved.
I think that’s my problem but i have no codes in truck
On Volvo's trucks, fusible link is connecting starter's ground terminal and the frame. Should be grounded.
How did you get positive power to the fusible link? Have you replaced fusible link?
You did not explain how did you fix this problem. I do not understand why are many of people here thankful for this video.
I agree, ther is now then a short , because he showed it was in the state of positive power, then he just added a ground to it. Something is still not right !!!

For me, it was the inline 150amp mega fuse on the ground cable. Physically looked fine, but worked when bypassed.

I had to left my truck parked in a yard due to this problem, I had and idea of the problem, but didn't know how to find it to solve it, now I will go back with a hope after watching your video. Taking advantage of your experience, there could be a ground connection in the cad hidden under the dashboard for the the fuse box, or it is the only one? Just asking to avoid dismantling my dashboard unnecessarily. Thank you very much in advance!

Called a fusible link, usually in older volvos and other trucks I assume, it usually goes from starter to engine block.
Check basic stuff first all the time
It's broke down about an hour and a half away I'm on my way to check it now

I've never seen a fuse on the negative side. Do you think that that fuse is necessary? Can you replace that cable with just a regular ground cable?

My truck lost all power from the ignition but the radio and some of other stuff comes on no dashboard lights come on no gauges power on what do you think it could be
Hey so I have an 07 Volvo with isx Cummins it won't start unless I give it one shot of starting fluid then it will start and run but it takes about 25 seconds after starting before it responds to the throughtle peddle 😊

Thanks only when you connect one side After fuse what abut the other side I mean can I connect apiece of wire from negative to after fuse temporarily until I change that whole negative wire that fuse in it is not working

Hey Fransisco, D13 neutral switch not detected; check three fuses and relay, tighten btry cable check control , wire's under seat pull test. Truck was towed from the front driveline and axle not disconnected.

Thanks for the insightful info. I have a 2010 with an IXS Cummins engine. I am down with Regen failure. The mechanic clean it up but it drove for only a hundred and forty miles and the problem resurfaced. Can you please help me.

(Kan hende dynamo har en skjult feil som BURDE vært oppdaga i denne sammenheng, og det er ikke ALLTID en sånn type feil kommer opp i dashbordet)

Hello I have same stile of volvo but I have the opposite issue truck would not shut off if I take the key out it stays running and dash stays running
