Comparison: 20 Gauge vs 12 Gauge | APEX TSS & Federal TSS | 25-40-60 yards

- Nolan compares a 20 guage vs 12 guage TSS. The 20 is loaded with APEX TSS 3 inch and the 12 is loaded with Federal TSS 3 1\2 inch.

I am shooting a Primos Jellyhead .560 with a 2 3/4 inch Apex #9 and getting 230 pellets in a 10 inch circle at 40 yards. I got the 2 3/4 initially because it was all that was available, but I am sticking with it. I don’t remember what the count was when I started messing with the Apex and had some 3 inch, but it wasn’t that much better. You gain about 95 pellets with that extra length, but I am not too concerned about that. It is significantly less recoil with the 2 3/4 vs. the 3 inch.
Shoot what u are comfortable with! I have a Carlson's in my new 20 and it does great also!. The APEX does the magic for me also!! Goodluck to u!!!

20 All day everyday. Twenty gauges always did pattern much better than 12. No matter what choke or load you're using. And I don't mean just for turkey. Is squirrel, Rabbit, Is quail, Is grouse, And pleasant. Only time I use a 12 is for large waterfall.

Under porforming with the 20 gauge, should be getting way better than that.

@@TheGoatRope that .555 may be blowing your pattern apart. Doesn’t even look like 150 in a 10 inch circle at 40. Should be getting at least 250. Typed as I was watching and saw you had 134 in that orange, assuming that’s 10 inch. You would probably get a better pattern with a choke in the .560-.570 range.

Federal is not the same as Apex. Not even close. Apex is top of the line TSS. Why compare a 3” against a 3.5”? Theres way more bbs in a 3.5” 12 gauge vs a 3” 20g. Be fair shoot a 3” 12 gauge apex.
I agree APEX is top dog compared. It out preformed the 3.5 12. I believe we mentioned in the video it wasn't apples to apples. Lots of people think bigger is bigger and that's not the case most times. But either way. That's what we had to compare so that's what we did.
