- UPDATE! Check out the new and improved Grimm Troupe lore video here:
• Hollow Knight's Grimm ...
Hollow Knight's second content pack brings us a good chunk of lore to discuss. Also, we mourn the loss of another beloved NPC, Leg Eater.
Please comment below who you think Bretta will end up with, or if you think Team Cherry will just kill her off, and leave us a body to stumble upon in a future update. My personal theory is the Hunter. They are both writers, The Hunter is basically everything Zote isn't, and The Hunter could use another interaction to make his character feel more fleshed out.
I didn't give myself a month to make this like I did my last video. So while it might not be as polished, I do hope I am able to present this new lore in an informative and entertaining way for you. Thanks for taking the time to read the description, You're the best. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise.

Could you make a video on the kickstarter added characters?
I actually thought of something that could be really awesome to do regarding the Grimmchild
Looks like the Nightmares King's kinky sex toy
Have you tried searching the howling cliffs?
ok so normal dreams give off that standard sort of pearly essence, and nightmares give off a red essence. anyone care to explain how the room in the abyss with the lifeblood core ties into all of this? there is blue looking essence everywhere and when you get the lifeblood core the screen fills with it. I really hope Team Cherry follows through with the abyss expansion once it gets funded, and this maybe gets answered.
also i wonder what's the lore behind that one corpse you have to dream nail to access the new content. most ghosts/corpses are somehow linked with the dream world, yet this one has something to do with nightmares. perhaps it's something like heaven and hell. maybe this bug did a horrible thing in life and now it suffers eternal punishment...? honestly i doubt the lore of HK goes that far.

Imo, the Path of Pain is Pale King's sealed memory. The reason why it's so hard is because Pale King really tried to bury this memory or he didn't want anybody to find it. He realizes that by being affectionate towards the Hollow Knight, he may have caused them to be no longer hollow. He knows he fucked up. And even though he began to love that one child, he still had to sacrifice it, causing great suffering.
The Path of Pain is either Pale King's attempt to preserve a precious memory with The Hollow Knight, or an attempt to forget it, to distance himself.
So in this case, The White Palace is a literal Mind Palace.
I also have one gripe, that people seem to miss all the time. It's the dream catcher sprites in the white palace. They are the literal symbols of dreams and memories, so them filling the white palace should be a pretty hard evidence.
qwormuli frfr
I feel the same!
It could also represent the suffering and pain the King went through to sacrifice and raise The Hollow Knight knowing he has to sacrifice it in the end. It maybe why you have to go through the hardest platforming section to reach the deepest memory that the King held dear
Kind of like Christian Values
The Grimm Troupe isn't a real circus at all. When you visit Jiji while the Troupe's in town she gives you this whole speech about how they hide their true appearance and aren't what they seem. Then there's the fact that they travel to dead kingdoms where there are not many bugs left to come see them and the few who are still there are too spooked by them to approach (it's not just Elderbug ; no-one else in Dirtmouth approaches the tent either). Divine's even really surprised that the Knight isn't scared of the Troupe.
The whole circus aesthetic is there to provide a convenient cover story whenever they pop up somewhere. It's not their primary function. Hell, all the nuggets of lore we get about the Grimm Troupe play up the Ritual and the Nightmare Heart and none of them really talks about the circus thing.
Long story short : the Grimm Troupe is a cult disguised as a travelling circus
Wait so it's not normal for circuses to give you a demon child and force you to kill people to reap their souls?
Huh
Of course I didn’t visit Jiji in time. Glad I still made the right choice. Grimm is cool looking, but I feel he’s really overrated just for his design. “Good ending” is banishment, Brumm was right. Still, sucks losing baby parasite buddy.
@@notenoughgarlic I felt really bad for Brumm 'cause yeah, he IS better off in the banishment ending, but I really wanted to keep Grimmchild

Dont you think the scene at the end is explaining why the hollow knight failed to contain the radiance? The hollow knight and pale king share a moment and they care about eachother making the hollow knight not hollow of emotion. And this is why the pale king creates the path of pain with all the saws so no one will see that the pale king was the reason the kingdom fell. This is my theory atleast
I believe he took the white palace to the dream realm in order to hide his failure, he realized that the Hollow knight was not perfect but it was too late whe he sealed The radiance, he grow attached to its creation and filled even a little its hollow vessel, that would be why the hollow knight stabs himself in pain during his boss fight, well at least thats what I think

Dikkse isn’t that what he said? He was tarnished by the idea instilled and we see the moment where it happened
I think that hollow knight desire to say hollownest made him not empty
The hollowknight fails because it is not hollow but the knight is hollow and The hollowknight doesn't want to fight the the knight but radiance/infection is forcing it too.
I mean, I never considered the Pale King an Asshole. He was doing the only thing that he thought was the way to save everyone. Like Gwyn from Dark Souls is a complete douchelord because he purposely cursed everyone to a repeating cycle but the Pale King just seems to be trying to help everyone.

Pale King is like King Asgore

Nightmare King Grimm Well, they certainly should change your view of the person.
I always felt so bad for him. He was the savior of Hallownest, and only wanted to help keep his people safe. But he was forced to make hard choices, and in doing so, doomed everyone including himself.
I agree
Pale King: Look Hollow Knight, everything the light touches is our kingdom.
Hollow Knight: What's that black stuff?
Pale King: That's the void Hollow Knight, we do not go near there.
Did anyone else notice that Grimm's moveset is very similar to Dracula from the castlevania games? I thought it was a cool touch.

I honestly thought of him as just one big tribute to Dracula from Castlevania. The Grimm Troupe and Grimm even have a cycle similar to Castlevania's castle and Dracula.

I feel like when Grimm dies and the ‘heart of Grimm’ continues, that isn’t really him dying. He, as a consciousness/person, is still alive, just moved into a different body (the Grimmchild.) In a sense, he’s not dying at all, and when you ‘kill’ him, you’re not actually harming him - you’re just playing a part in what amounts to a circus act.
Yeah I have the same thought. Like the child isnt an actual child but simply a vessel to contain the heart which manifests itself like whatever Grimm is. So Grimm's/Heart's consciousness remains with all the memories previous vessels had.
When I first saw Nymm in town I thought he might be like the bard in Shovel Knight.
You can talk to him and he'll play any song you choose from the soundtrack, that would be cool.
We can only hope for a "Mute Salubra" option in the next content update.
We all do.

Y’know. This might be a controversial thing to say, but I feel as if the Accordion kinda is a small hint to you(the player)being a bit of a “clown” of sorts from stepping down from the challenge of the Nightmare King Grimm.

The Wojtek Hollow Bretta: The visual novel
"A lot of people experience this bug." You see, you just uncovered the greatest secret in Hollow Knight. When this "bug" occurs, what are you doing? That's right, fighting two bugs. What other two bugs are featured and "patched" in this update? Bretta and Leg-eater. Putting all this together, Two-Legs (now unbreakable after he totally did it with Divine) and Bretta will totally do it and make two new Wingmoulds or whatever, thus renewing the cycle of the Grim Toke, the fuel for the crazy Australians in Team Cherry. Thank you for truly deciphering the lore, only a true Rick and Morty fan could.

The white lady addresses the little bugger grimm telling it Hallownest will never accept it as king. I think like.... later when It grows up it could threaten hallownest. you may have made the right choice, lore wise.
Then again... what if Grimm is mostly harmless and actually a beneficial figure?
I feel like the only one who likes Nymm’s accordion...
I’m not missing out on that boss, though.
Grimm's inflated ball form mimics a defence strategy of the the vampire squid, minus the fireballs. Just thought that was interesting
Wait whaaaat
Potential spoilers:
I believe that, during the nightmare king fight, when he splits (referenced as being vampire-like), that it actually could be a callback to all the times the ritual has been completed. They all look like the 3rd form of the grimmchild and there are many of them. I think that each one is a previous child that inherited the flame of the king. Damaging him consistently causes the tether, binding them into one body, to weaken, revealing all the children of Grimm. The one with glowing eyes can be damaged, revealing that body currently carries the flame and is the current grimmchild you're tasked with defeating to complete the ritual to find a new vessel.
I also believe it being a vessel to be a strong connection to the idea of the hollow night. This, I believe, speaks volumes to the theory of the hollow knight being a vessel of the radiance, whom is also describe as being related to the essence.
Pure speculation, but... as mentioned, the Grimm Troupe seems to be nightmares while the radiance seems to be dreams. Perhaps some other entity also discovered, as the pale king did, that this sort of dream energy can be contained in a vessel. This other vessel fully encompassed the nightmare energy, but the shell did not shatter as with the player after defeating the radiance. I believe it was not a complete vessel, just like the hollow knight. This also speaks, to me, as when the hollow knight took in the radiance, it grew much larger than it appeared to be in the player's memories. Grimm himself, is much larger than the Grimmchild, and I believe that after obtaining all the energy it grows into a fully formed Nightmare King. The members of the Troupe seem to be followers of the Nightmare King in a similar fashion to how I imagine the followers of the radiance. They also both have full screen titles given before their fight, which I think suggests that they are similar entities.
I could keep rambling, but I just wanted to voice my theory on the separation that happens during the Nightmare king fight and as I wrote my ideas down, more surfaced.
so judging by your theory, that would mean each and every grimm is supposedly each kingdom that has fallen in the world of hollow knight. huh, neat.
@@hahatdog2486 Well, doing the missions you build up the small little grim and when he gets strong enough, you fight the nightmare king. I assume he wants to keep adding more and more grimchildren to himself to keep increasing in power and deceives the others insects to accomplish it.
I can't say that the kingdoms fell, but I believe each grimchild is meant to represent that each one belonged to someone else at some point and the owner had to collect the flames, just as you do when performing the missions. At the very least, I would assume that each one represents at least one other insect that did the tasks, but wasn't able to defeat the nightmare king in the end.
THANK YOU for appreciating the lore at the end of the path of pain
I honestly thought he was going to flip his shit a little there, getting so little after so much pain, but it turned out he actually saw the world there. I guess lore dudes see the world with different eyes?

Fak all the people on discord who kept telling me that crib in the White Palace was not for the Knight and was actually for Hornet. I am the true hk lore master now.
Saleh G yeah, I'm not sure why everyone is so married to the idea that the crib is for Hornet. But I don't think we can conclusively say who the crib is for yet. I could be wrong of course.
mossbag
but your shade's theme plays there and white lady calls you her child in one of her new dialogues and the king sees you as his son too. All evidence points towards it.
Saleh G I think the main reason people say it's hornet's is because a crib is something you would use on a child you intend to care for. But the Vessels aren't supposed to be treated like children. The shade theme is explained by people saying Horent is made of Void, which I think is debatable.
What does the crib look like?
hornet is at least part void she's a sibling
Wow I thought you were jesting when you were praising the path of pain ending, but damn, I feel stupid now. Great job.
Also, is nobody going to talk about how there's a discarded scarlet tent right next to Willoh? Like, was it always there?
I wanna see a fight to the death between the Radiance and Nightmare king Grimm.
Personally, (and this is of course conjecture), I believe that Dream Nailing the dead Troupe member and lighting the Nightmare Lantern serves as a way to unify Hallownest and the nightmare half of the dream world. It doesn't so much call the Troupe as unify the kingdom with the nightmares that they normally reside in. This allows the Grimmkin to take on the forms they choose, maybe even allowing Grimm to take on the form we see (it's possible that in reality he's just the Grimmchild that you can damage when he separates).
It's notable that when fighting a Grimmkin, the screen is covered in dream catchers, as if you were fighting a warrior dream or collecting Essence from a root (though with Grimmkin the dream catchers are red because, you know, nightmare vs. dream), but that you don't need to use the Dream Nail to cut through the borders of reality first. Almost as if those borders were already sundered.
Nailing dead people is necrophilia if you're into it
Grimm’s puffer fish attack is more likely a reference to the VAMPIRE SQUID.
lol i loved this when you mentioned the zote running his mouth just offscreen
I think all endings end the infection, if the Pale King's idea:A Vessel with"no mind to think","no will to break" can seal the Radiance.
We know that the Knight has been to the plains beyond Hollownest, loosing his mind and memory.
There's a psychological idea that goes like this: if you take away everything, that makes you You(memories, personality, will) then there will be nothing left.
So the Knight with "no mind to think" and "no will to break" became the perfect Vessel after returning from the Void beyond Hollownest.
Pluss the Knight doesn't show any sign of emotion.
That's just my theory so take it with a grain of salt. :D
vapandris _ I never thought about this. It explains why Quirrel has amnesia as well. It seems that he remembered Monomon and her wish at some point, though. I propose an idea that when Lil' Knight dreamnailed its reflection in Birthplace, its memory has returned.
I think that Quirrel's mask kept him in some kind of contact with Monomon, which she used to draw him back when she sensed that a vessel returned, and allowed him to keep some semblance of identity, though not his memory.
However, I don't believe that the Pale King was correct in believing that a truly "hollow" vessel would work. While it would effectively contain the Radiance, the dreams and memories of the inhabitants of Hallownest would still eventually cause the Radiance to resurface in the form of the infection. It didn't help that the Hollow Knight was imperfect because it "cared" for its father, and thus was eventually overcome by infection itself. The only true way to exterminate the infection without destroying the Radiance is to eliminate the entire population of Hallownest so that they can never find any dream or memory of the Radiance again. Which isn't much of a cure.
What truly allows the Vessel to contain the infection is that they have the full power of the Void at their disposal, the equal (or perhaps even superior) and opposite of the Radiance, and are thus able to truly destroy her. In the "siblings" ending, the Hollow Knight IS able to fully contain the Radiance, unlike the previous Hollow Knight, but she can still reach out to anyone who remembers her and begin the infection anew. All she needs is for someone to find the statue at Hallownest's Crown, and she's back in business.
Nope the first ending is bad my friend
The one with Hornet is slightly better but still bad
The world outside isnt void? Its just planet
Angel V. "Void" in this case is metaphorical. It refers to the fact that there is no known civilization, and no known bugs of intelligence outside of Hallownest, and that leaving Hallownest causes most to lose their memories and intelligence and become feral again.
Something I noticed that seemed interesting was that the flames the troupe kept referring to were all noticeably scarlet, like blood. Maybe this is supposed to reference some kind of "blood" within the kingdom that is being consumed to prolong Grimm? at the very least it fit the whole vampire-motif the dlc had going for it.
I think it was more of the vampire motif than anything else. We don't see red blood in the game ever.

I think the white palace is not real but rather what the pale king would've wanted it to be. It is known that he has become desperate (-> collector) and very paranoid, so perhaps all the saws etc are just what he dreams to have to finally feel safe from the plague.
Jo Possible
That.. actually makes sense.
Tat 011 Likely because he realized that while he might be safe, his kingdom is gone, and without a kingdom, and king might as well not exist. So, in his mind, he's already dead.
Are you saying the collector is the Pale King? What?
PRODUCERDiceOfficial No, that's not what's he's saying, he's saying that the Pale King started getting desperate and tried to make more Kingsmould, but as you know, when people (or bugs in this case) get desperate, they can't focus clearly and make huge mistakes, so the Pale King accidentally made the Collector instead of a Kingsmould. So no, that wasn't what Jo was saying, but I can see why Jo's comment could be seen as saying that the Collector is the Pale King.
Igor is pronounced EE-Gore, not Eye-Gore.
Imagine if someone said Drake-You-La instead of Drak-You-La.
Cool video btw.
People pronounce things differently some people pronounce Beethoven as Bait-hoven and some pronounce it as beat-hoven
Regional variance in dialect accounts for that
@@K-7Maylis So if your name is Dick and someone says "Hey Dye-k", would your point stand or would you correct them?
@@Speed001 And I'm from the US and speak exclusively English. If a name is pronounced a certain way in the country a person is born in, I'm gonna pronounce it that way.
When people read about Saladin, they say "Salad-in" when the name is pronounced "Sa-la-ha-deen".
Different dialects is an excuse, you either have the respect to pronounce a person's name properly, or you don't.
@@Gyrannon No one would proniounce dick as dye-k, Arkansas is a better example, some say ar-kansas and some say arkansaw, one of them may be correct but honestly there's better things out there than to be arguing about names, especially if the person doesn't care
I don't know if someone else already talked about this, but I though about how Brumm loses his identity, and becomes Nymm after losing a design change, the loss of the mask. Not only that, but as said in the video, Confessor JiJi says that the Grimm Troupe hide their identity. Doesn't this all ties back to the Mask Maker, who said "
To change a face; to conceal it fully within another... A powerful protection that is, but one with sad consequence. The original mind is destroyed, though those of striking will may still retain a sliver of that concealed self", together with the dialogue about Mask can be used as faces, which maked think exist, implies that it is possible to completely change the identity of bug, with consequence of the original bug losing his mind. So it would make sense, that the Mask Maker, or someone like the Mask Maker, is helping the Grimm Troupe. That is why they all wear mask, so that all their identities are concealed by the mask. Maybe even the mask forces/influences them to serve the Heart of Grimm( This last phrase is not-evidence based, but I could see it being a thing).

I love how you didn't mention the direct Castlevania reference in Grimm: He teleports away, lifts an arm (and with it, his cape), and flaming bats fly out. This is one of Dracula's traditional attack patterns in Castlevania.
"Seal of Binding" like the seal of binding that was said in the Hollowknight:Silksong gameplay at the treehouse live? Hmm....in your video at 13:42 in the hunter's journal it's said that the "Seal of Binding" was used to contain a powerful force or to preserve something of great importance. That means those bugs that capture Hornet knew she was of great importance and knew what that binding was used for, which is interesting to say the least!...
Great video! However, you missed one important detail that I feel the need to point out. You claim that the only two bosses with full-screen title cards are the Radiance and Nightmare King Grimm. This is blatantly untrue.
Zote the Mighty’s Eternal Ordeal. What does this mean? I believe that it is Team Cherry blatantly telling us that Zote’s power is equal to, if not greater than, that of the Radiance and Nightmare Grimm.
It may be argued that you didn’t include this in the video because the battle had not yet been added into the game. While this is true, it is still necessary to point out the severe lapse in judgement of not bringing up Zote the Mighty’s incredible power.
I always thought of Grimm as being the HK equivalent of the Devil to the Radiance's godhood.
Mossbag! These two reviews are really nice. Thanks for your thoughts

i have my own theory on the relationship between grimm and the nightmare heart. i think it's more of a symbiosis than the slavery brumm likens it to. grimm gets the power and immortality through rebirth that the ritual requires. and the nightmare heart gets a powerful host to protect it
First thank you for an other video. To me you're the game theory, fantastic work by the way, greatness dood!

Ok, so Radiance and Nightmare King are both sides of the same coin. So we can consider Knightmare King as an "higher beings" like Radiance.
I have an hypotesis : we call the Grimm Troupe in Howling Cliffs, and they come to Dirtmouth. What is placed between those 2 places... the king's path (tutorial area), full of stones guiding "higher beings". And in this area, we can find the "Fury of the Fallen", in a chest in front of something with RED EYES, charm that reinforce those who are ABOUT TO DIE.
Since the first DLC was about 2 bosses you could defeat over and over until you have to make no mistake because they would one shot you, here is my question : Is someone ready to do every sort of thing about this dlc with one hp left and fury equiped ? :!D
Sulfury I'm pretty sure speedrunners already did that. The fury of the fallen is great for speedruns.
You know what bothers me? how come there wasn’t an addition to the true ending if you chose to shatter the lantern? I mean, we got an addition for all the other DLC’s if you chose to destroy the dreams and the gods; how come we didn’t get anything for choosing to destroy the nightmares? it would actually fit perfectly with the phrasing from m and old medieval spell: shatter the dreams, tear down the gods, destroy the nightmares. it seems like something that should be significant to the way the true ending goes.
Eiii, nice! Well, I think I'm gonna give you a subscribe, because I really do enjoy your commentary, and you have a nice voice. In fact, from the last video, I discovered that you can Dream Nail enemies, and get more lore that way, which I find really cool. Also, secrets I didn't know previously.
Well, thank you. It's always hard to tell if your own voice sounds good, so I'm glad to hear that.
I really like the way you present the ideas and the way your narrative flows... Really nice job explaining this game! I was kinda lost! :)
I love your videos. You always perfectly mix analysis and comedy to make an enjoyable video. So thank you.
so it only took you 1 hour the go through the path of pain? LMAO i gave up after 2 hours and not reaching the 2nd checkpoint
I hope you continue with your lore videos, in the future!
Just finished the game and came to see the videos and I gotta say:
Dude, you're so good at this.
I love Godmaster for letting us fight NKG whenever we want. I can banish the Grimm Troupe, hope that shit didn’t immediately go wrong for the other members, and still keep my boss fight.
Honestly the Grimm Troupe quest fascinates me. The whole time I was playing this I kept thinking "why would the Knight want to help these bugs?" Sure, the whole Void vs Radiance thing is already an inversion of our assumptions on the nature of light and dark, but why would a being concerned with the preservation of Hallownest be aiding a creature wishing to feed off the flames of its despair? My best guess is that, at least in the Knight's mind, it's all in a quest for balance. The light of soul gifted by the Wyrm could not exist while the Void was locked below, and so too can the essence of dreams not survive without the scarlet flame of nightmares. Or maybe I'm just reaching, who knows.
"They'll miss NKG"
Godmaster: a-nope
eccept you have to beat NKG to get him in godhome, but nice meme anyway
@@Palindromeda banishment works too. Source: it's there in my save file and I did the Banishment ending, thx btw
@@pulim-v oh ok. but i still don't want to missout on grimmchild's max form tho so... yeah
@@Palindromeda if you can, get the Ritual ending, I totally recommend it, Carefree Melody is awful (even if it was free It'd be awful), but I am horrible at Hollow Knight (I legit died to Massive Moss Charger) so yeah.
@@pulim-v well i have NO intesion of getting the banishment ending anyway
Thank you for this video! Thanks for your tie and your work :)
Your videos are have a surprising amount of humor in it. Thanks for making me laugh
I banished him per intention, but only cause I know I can beat his ass in godshome since the last update
Yes, this was late comment. But you can't fight with nkg im godhome and PoH if you dont beat him, same with grey prince zote, and godtamer
I’ve never heard Igor pronounced, Eye-gor.
lmao EE-gore. surprised this comment is so far down.
I love all of your videos ! Thank you so much !
This video is funny as hell, your dry sense of humor is fantastic.
As a fan of accordion music, Nymm's presence is a welcome one.
IMO, it's a good rendition of the Dirtmouth music. The only thing breaking it is Zote's incessant babbling and whatsherface's chuckling when on the bench.
So you get the SoB from the Path of Pain?
*_FITTING_*
Well the Pale King alwasy was an SOB
Thanks for the video about Zote and The grimm troupe, you get a new subscriber now xD.
Thanks for this mate, I haven't played the DLC so this is much appreciated.
I call the white pallace "Pallace of masochists"
Wait, the Weavers left hallownest to go to their old home?
Hornet?
It's a sequel confirmed?
Man, I love your lore videos!
Your lore videos are easily the best out there when it comes to Hollow Knight.
8:45 The brothers Grimm are rolling in their graves.
Hollow knight in 2017
"Man this shite is so good"
Team Cherry: this is not even my final form
*launch Grimm troupe pack with an awesome boss and excellent sound tracks and stuff... also Child adoption lol
one thing everyone misses is that grim actually attacks like dracula from cas sotn opening his cape letting out 1-3 attacks and also soul sanctum is a nod sotn and the dream master acts like dracula alot as well
theory : Grimm is the caused of the effection.
As we all known the radiant before was pacifist but when the pale king arrive, she is locked in dream word. I think she met nightmare king grimm there who told her to take back what was hers that why she decided to make the whole hollownest effected
Shadows dream of endless fire.
Flames devour and embers swoop.
One will light the nightmares lantern.
Call and serve in Grimm's dead troupe.
A spark of red lights darkest dreams
Scarlet nightmares bright and wild.
Visions dance and flames do speak.
Burn the father, Feed the child.
Dance and Die and live forever.
Silent voices Shout and sing.
Stand before the troupe's dark hear
Burn away the Nightmare king.
it's a nice piece of poetry
7:16 I'M CRYING HE L B
I've seen some cute fanarts of ghost and grimmchild, which makes it even better
This channel is gonna blow up fast. Well done, this is great
EDIT: Getting some massive Horus Heresy vibes from the King/Knight bond, the Godlike King ambiguously caring for a child tool he created. I like the test theory, because it fits the brutal nature of the world. As a weapon, the Hollow Knight must be great. But it was still a living child creature. And if the King didn't care..why make a memorial mourning the sacrifice?
Love the ambiguity and subjective depth.
WE GOTTA FIND BRETTA GUYS
Henry Badger
Why didnt your Hollow Knight video ever get a part two?
Saleh G oh wow, nice to see ya mentioning that! lol!
Basically, I just have so much to do irl, university, work, etc. And it's on my to-do list for memes and videos, but it's not very high up there :p
Henry Badger
ok, take your time
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if we found her corpse. Judging by Myla and Tiso
Saleh G :D!
Am I the only one who feels kinda bad for Grimm? Also look how cute fully grown Grimm Jr. is!
The Pale King abandoned his kingdom after he made the Path of Pain due to the immense debt he racket up buying all those saws and spikes.
8:49 it took me way too long to realize what was wrong with that pufferfish
What's that peruvian grub shit?
I also want to know.
I don't think I've seen that room.
It's been nicknamed the "Vitruvian Grub" and you can find it in a hidden room in the Tower of Love just before you get the map of all grub locations after the Collector fight.
It's considered a reference to Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitruvian_Man
The current theory is that the Collector was obsessed with prolonging the creatures of Hallownest and saw something in the Grubs cycle of being born and then using their parents as cocoons as a way to metamorphose into the "GrubberFly" a creature never seen in game but mentioned in the GrubberFly's Elegy charm.
He might have been analysing the Grubs to find a way to prolong all creatures in Hallownest and captured them to observe their behaviour.
But that hasn't been confirmed as the Vitruvian Grub is still one of the most mysterious secrets in the game.
Sorry if all that was a bit long.
Just about long enough for me to understand it, thanks!
16:49, how did u get that ? another thign that was there the whole time and i havent discovered ?
Yeah, it's been there the whole time. Secret room above the hallway where you get the collector's map.
mossbag Yeah, I didn't know it either. What are the theories about? Is there like something like subreddit for it?
It just pops up every once in a while. I don't think there's any strong theory about it that anyone agrees upon. Just pieces, like the charm description for Grubberfly's Elegy makes it sound like the grubs have some secret power. I've heard that maybe the King wanted the Grubs, since it seems like the Collector was made in the White Palace, and dream nailing the mold in that room says "serve". There was one theory that tied the grubs into Grimm Troupe, but that's clearly wrong too. So yeah, we're pretty starved for answers right now.
My bet is that its just a grub map as it has 46 dots
FuzzyD yeah that seems logic
another great explanation. here's hoping we get all of the answers out of the last dlc! cheers!
Your comedy is fucking gold.
I can't stop watching your videos and I've never felt better.
