This is one of the best real life examples of a rags to riches story in modern times. Plumber discovers he is an insanely talented musician, writes fire songs, lands a record deal, and becomes universally recognized as one of the best songwriters of all time. Goo Goo Dolls were my favorite band in junior high when I learned acoustic guitar. Loved the alternate tuning magic. Black Balloon is underrated.

It can be found, but you would have to search long and hard for it. In the 90s and decades before that, it was in the air, literally part of the environment and part of the culture
