    I just traded my BMW 3 series for this car. I am so happy with my decision. I will NEVER have another German or Japanese money pit in my driveway EVER again.

    This is a beautiful Impala. I have a feeling that many years down the road this will be an impala that people will want to restore and cruise on a summer day just like the ones of old today.

    • @Bartonovich52
      @Bartonovich52 Před 3 lety +1

      Nope.
      The RWD V8 Chevy SS sold less than 1/10th of the FWD Impala.
      The Charger does sell more.. about double... but for all of its muscle car pretensions it’s heavier, less comfortable, more expensive, and slower than the Impala in V6 trim while V8s represent a handful of sales as most interested in pure performance will go for the Challenger, Camaro, Mustang, or a European sports sedan.

    I stopped in at the dealership today for some free burgers and sodas at their Memorial Day sale. I got my first look at the new Impala and I am really truly impressed with it. It is so much better than the boring old one. I got inside a LT and checked it out. The inside is also a vast improvement over the previous one. I am not a Chevy guy but I am really impressed with what they have done to the Impala. Might add it to my list of new car possibilities.

    @LlyleHunter Před 11 lety +3

    I totally agree. I've had my fill of imports. I was once told by a Mercedes dealer that the part that I needed wasn't even a part that was on an American car. I told him that I such a honor to have a European problem. I said " You know my family had European problems. That's why we live here now!" Second Chrysler now and couldn't be more satisfied. I haven't needed to replace as much as a light bulb in 8 years now and it doesn't cost me $500.00 for an oil change or $1800.00 for a tune-up.

    It really doesn't. The 3.6 is powerful enough to move the car out in the 6-6.5 second range. Pretty good for a full-size 3800lb car. Maybe you prefer a v8 but it doesn't NEED one.

    I'm in love with american cars and it was such a pain to see something like cobalt, old focus..etc on the road coz they are so badly built/designed that you don't have to be a rocket scientist those can only do harms to companies already struggle with building cars that people willing to pay to have. Kind of glad to see they are improving and truly hope they will continue to improve.

    UPDATED JANUARY 2023: My IMPALA is now 6 years old. Only Oil Changes and Tire Rotations. It just turned 21K yesterday. No trouble so far and living in the North East the car is outside year round. Looks inside and outside like the day I bought it still. I owe a few thousand (thanks to Covid 19 extending payments for 6 months) I just found out a feature I didn’t know the car had this morning by using VOICE control to call out Music Stations, Without my Android plugged in. I bought the Red Tint coat Option paint in LT Trim with the PANO roof and a few other options the sticker was over $36K I paid $25K July of 2017. Don’t think you can’t haggle more then just a few thousand. Made me kind of upset the day after I bought mine they brought out the one I really would of wanted the sporty model in Black with the upgraded appearance package and a few other options for $2K more.

    I was pronouncing your name my way. So? And thanks for the compliment. It speaks highly of your worth. This new Impala is a great looking car, and along with GM reliability, should be better than anything else in the class. And Chevy's current lineup is pretty strong. The Spark, Sonic, Cruze, Malibu, Camaro, Impala and Corvette are all excellent. The trucks go without saying... the best trucks. Chevrolet calls it "im PAL uh", not "im PAWL uh". Maybe we should listen to them.

    I'm just a fan of how they did the 96 impala SS. They took a big family sedan and made it a powerful rwd, corvette driven, car. Don't get me wrong I love the LS3 engine from recent years under the hood but I want my Impala to bark and get sideways down the road. Yeah its more efficient but I think GM need to provide more Muscle for our money. As a matter of fact the new 2014 SS rwd car, I love the drive train but would much have rather seen that under this impala body.

    I travel a lot with my work. We rent cars from Enterprise as we have a national account. I am always very happy when I get to drive the Malibu's as they are very well done cars. The 2.5 litre engine has ample power, and they are truly a joy to drive. I can only hope Chevy has put as much fun into this car as they have the Boo. I watched as these guys produced the biggest pieces of shit known to man backin the late 70's and most of the 80's. They have finally gotten their act together.

    The interior was horrible also. The center console would shake violently by just touching it. Wasn't even held into the floor well. Wow. Headliner was falling down at 40k. We take very good care of our vehicles too. No excuse for a car to have all these issues at such low mileage. But then again, look at what you're dealing with. I really do not like the bling bling could have toned that down. Also should consider changing to paddle shifters instead of the GM part from the Frankenstein bin to build GM cars with. Almost everything GM is old and from some other car. Anyway the car looks good. Just wondering if the extra time they took to launch this car was worth the wait. I will have to test drive this when I go pickup my Ford Fusion Titanium. Also was considering the BMW 328i, just for the driving dynamics.

    Folks, I work at a Chevy dealership and have just had the chance to drive and check out one of these new Impala's...at 5:00 he comments on seat comfort, and I will tell you right now and it is NOT TRUE...the seats, like those in the cruze and volt are HARD, and very thin. The padding is poor/thin, and very cheap feeling. Headroom for tall people is compromised as well due to the very low roof line....check all your options before making a purchase.

    If it's like or worse than the 2002 with the one piece exhaust system (shops like to unbolt and bolt on new assemblies and not deal with component like resonator replacement) and side window glass that detaches (I had two windows repaired for a few hundred dollars) the consumer is in for surprises. I'd like to find a '67 big block SS with a factory 4 speed on the floor (not console) and manual windows---I remember the Marina blue one with the bench seat black interior..
