I could hear it steaming after I turned off the engine .I waited about an hour and opened the cap and it still blew out steam. You and your family, stay healthy brother.✌️💙🏇🏇🏇

    Here’s a trick to check the cooling fans just turn on your ac on max the ac system needs the fans to run to operate correctly. The fans after 2 to 3 seconds should fire up and run. If the fans work with the ac but the car still over heats with the ac off then check relays. The way it works is the computer will ground the cooling fan relays and turn the fans on since the fans can be run at different speeds you may have a few relays controlling the fans. The reason I say try the ac first is because if the fans run with the ac then that tells me you have a relay issue if the fans don’t come on with the ac then there might be something wrong with the fans themselves. The fans will always kick on with the ac turned on full blast.

      @thankgoduzoma82 Před 3 měsíci

      Well my fan turns on with the AC, but it doesn’t work without the AC.
      I’m curious to know why my car still overheats when the AC is on with the fan running. Please give me some advice 🙏

    • @ryans413
      @ryans413 Před 3 měsíci +3

      @@oprahd.lizard2984 if the fans come on with the AC on but the car starts overheating with the AC off then yes you have something else that’s wrong. Once the temperature reaches a certain point the computer will kick on the fans usually at low speed depending on how hot the cars getting. You’ll have AC fan relay and usually 3 relays for fan speeds. When the AC is on the fans run at full blast that’s how the AC works when the AC is not on and the car starts to get hot the computer will kick on the fans at low medium or high speeds. This is typical if it’s a hot day and your sitting in traffic not moving the engine gets hot with no air passing over the radiator so the fans might come on at low speed. So to sum up if the fans work with the AC but not with the AC off check all the fan relays. When the temperature gets above 200F or 90C they should kick on.

    • @ryans413
      @ryans413 Před 3 měsíci +4

      @@thankgoduzoma82 you might have a blown head gasket if it’s still getting hot with the AC on. Plus that might have happened because the fans didn’t work with the AC off it got to hot blew the gasket.

    Really cool to see you replying to comments a year later. I have a 2016 Subaru outback 2.5, after about 40 minutes of driving the needle moves up to red then slowly goes back down to normal. It will do that a few times during the ride. I also notice the heat will then fluctuate between hot and cold. I’ve read online it could be the radiator cap but I replaced that today with a Subaru oem cap and still the same. I’ve also read it could be low coolant. I plan on changing that tomorrow. I just wonder if there’s anything else I should consider?

    My temps stay between 177 and 184 when the a/c is not on. Unfortunately when the a/c is on, I see the temps go up to 205. I have my radiator fans turned on all the time but even like this, the temps climb high with the a/c on. With the a/c on and at highway speeds, the temps will mostly drop to the mid 190’s depending on the outside temperature . I’m really hesitating on installing an oil cooler to assist because it just adds complexity.

    Man, I have a beautiful 02' Blazer ZR2 4.3 w/300k on her & she used to run at 200 on hot days with a 195° thermostat.
    Now she's running around 210° (1/2 way mark) after driving just a few miles on hot days. Then it'll raise a tad past 210.
    That's never happened. The water pump is pumping. I can see it flowing when the thermostat opens.
    Maybe this is normal but I've never noticed it in the past.
    She'll get a tad higher when towing a very small 5x9' utility trailer with 200lbs in it. I'm South of Houston.
    I've flushed, cleaned the outside of radiator, not loosing coolant, did a flush twice in the past 2yrs & didn't look bad, got a new 195° thermostat, coolant, Severe Duty Clutch Fan & I've purged my system twice. I believe all my air is out.
    The new fan is odd, it is working or engaging when parked & getting warm or just after the thermostat opens, it just doesn't cool it down much or I cannot hear like I can when I'm driving but it's working. It's a new Hayden 2786.
    Might be normal because it runs around 200° in the mornings & holds that temp whether towing or not. It's just when it's really hot outside like 90° or higher when the temp runs hotter than normal.
    Which is probably just fine & me worried about nothing.
    She's had a ton of work done to her & runs like new. Still getting the 02' sticker mpg, 16 in town & better on highway.

    No offense, love the video, but the coolent Reservoir you spoke of in the beginning with the high/low and was pictured dull white plastic is for overfill level, It's not your coolent level. To test the coolent level, you just fill the the radiator more and more until no more can go in. If more coolent can go into the radiator, then it's probably not full. As said later, you may have airpockets so keep on trying to fill it. Make sure it's the right kind, too.

I know it's not the fans, plenty of coolant is available, no smoke from under the hood, oil looks normal, car sounds normal, no knocking, loud noises or anything. I don't believe it was an air bubble.

    What do you all think of when you have a good, well taken care of 6.4L V8 HEMI and two or three weeks ago it starts overheating but not while driving or ripping on it. Driving temp bounces from 180, 190-ish to 210-ish, after 210-220 ish the fan will kick on and the temp will go back down. But as of two or three weeks ago she started overheating while at idle and it happens maybe 3 to 5 minutes of idling (like waiting to pick up my kids from school and have to sit in that line for a bit) and will shoot up to the gauges max of 265! Then she starts beeping and yelling at me. But once I start moving again the temp quickly drops back down to normal. What is causing this? My thought was thermostat or water pump? But I won't know that until I can start taking stuff apart, which I don't want to do if I don't have to. But I could be wrong, which is fine. So, if anyone can help point me in the right direction as to why I'm having this issue I would really appreciate it.
    BTW: I have a 2018 Dodge Durango SRT with some mods but nothing recently and nothing that would affect the coolant system.

    • @zachariahgore8490
      @zachariahgore8490 Před měsícem

      @@derekninkovich3728 I did get it figured out. After all the checks I knew how to do, it turned out that I had a small crack in my radiator and leaked enough coolant to be too low to maintain temp but not low enough to throw a code. The mechanic I always go to thought it was the thermostat (like I thought) then thought it could have been a blown head gasket but luckily it was the radiator. He replaced the radiator and the thermostat just to be safe and now she's running fine. I know they are two totally different engines, but I hope this helps you figure out your problem.

    I have a cruze with a faulty waterpump. replaced the pump and the inlet pipe blew off when driving and the car overheated and blew the head gasket. (water in the #4 cyl, and milkshake). Got some head gasket sealant and tried that and it seemed to work. (no water in cyl and no milkshake cant check compression). But now there is a intermittant overheat issue. There is no thermostat in it so it should run cool. The coolant level is fine, and it does not drop, there is no thermostat, the heater works and when it starts overheating, I put the radiator on full and the air is hot as hell. (this brings the engine back into range and then it is good for a while again). The fans work, and I dont think that it is a sensor because the air is super, super hot when it start overheating. The water pump is new,and I have flushed the system once before, but I need to try it again. .. Any other ideas please or an I down to junking the car or replacing the motor?

    • @HVAC_Mechanic
      @HVAC_Mechanic  Před rokem +3

      Seems like you have gone over most everything. Some engines do need the thermostat installed to slow the coolant to be cooled, so it may need a thermostat installed. The engine and radiator may need a flush. These are just guesses.
