Star Wars The Old Republic Galactic Timeline Mini Movie
Galactic Timeline is a series of in-universe videos that provides backstory for the Star Wars: The Old Republic video game. They are presented in the form of record entries made in the Jedi Archives by Jedi Master Gnost-Dural who narrates the history of the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order. The narration follows a reverse order, beginning from the Treaty of Coruscant and going back to the events that led to it; it spans the Jedi Civil War, the Old Sith Wars. The animation is simple and is definitely nowhere near the level of the cinematic trailers, but they are some great stories here. Sadly, Bioware canceled the series after 12 episodes because lack of interest. They do have brief descriptions of what each episode would have been about. Most exciting for me would have been the last episode. It would have gone back 30,000 years to the moment when philosophers and monks first discovered the force!

Old republic movies would be good imo, not just that but having games that cover times that are mentioned like the Mandalorian wars would be a great movie imo

Obi-wan once said "over a thousand generations" a harmless throwaway line at the time, but that now means there's at least 30,000 years of history but also the Jedi and the greater Galaxy have been largely the same for all that time. So we get a thousand different writers trying to fill in the blanks with stuff like Hylo Visz

One of the main reasons I love SWTOR so much is how they weave lore into the "modern" story! When Hylo appeared, I freaked out!

Maybe this is what Disney should have covered to start with. Rather than the damage they did. They would've had more elbow room I think then again they might've made it too political.

Why? You already have all over 9 movies identical to these images and events. The ships, soldiers, and uniforms are just the same as clone wars and original trilogy. It is just a rescrambled version of everything you've already seen a thousand times.

Grand Moff Odeel Viken sounds interesting. Would love to see a movie made about him and the origins of the modern Imperial military.
an Old Republic series could be six movies easily, maybe more. tell the complete story of Revan. start with his birth, discovery and training by the Jedi, and his descent to the Dark Side and eventual return to the Light. end the Revan saga with his confrontation with the Sith Emperor, and the tragedy of how he sacrificed his spirit to keep the Sith Empire from conquering the Republic.
including flashbacks you could fit in so much of these events into the movies and create so many new characters. it would be a true saga that would be the equal or superior to the Skywalker saga.
All in all, them being superior over the Sequel trilogy is a given.

Everything starwars made before disney bought the rights to the franchise is non-canon except for the movies and the clone wars cgi show. That unfortunately means this is non canon too, even though thats stupid because nothing here could possibly contradict with the movies because they literally take place 4000 YEARS BEFORE PHANTOM MENACE! ugh.
"An unprecedented army, 50,000 strong" what is this? the dark ages of europe. You should be able to find bar-brawls on coruscant with more people. There should be like Millions of Bothans at least since they are an advanced space-faring race. An unprecedented force would require like a few more zeros. Sure you could argue that this was just the strike force around the shield generator, but even then 50K doesnt feel unprecedented and 5k defenders is just laughable
Earth and it’s population arent really good comparisons when looking at the Star Wars Universe. Planets in the galaxy far far away are hardly ever as densely-populated as Earth is, the beings of the Star Wars Universe have an entire galaxy to inhabit, so it’s rare to see that many all in one place, especially during that era. There's so much to mine from the EU, so many great characters, arcs and eras. Revan, Exar-Kun, The Mandalorian Wars and Emperor Vitiate could all support a film/series.

No they fell during the end of that war and made the next one.
Their fall preceded their search for the Star Forge.
Bullshit MMO retcons changed their characters into puppets. In the original lore its not clear when Revan really fell, but what is clear is that it was his choice. You could argue he turned when he gave the order to activate the mass shadow generator, wiping out the jedi/mandalorian forces on Malachor V in order to end the war. Or you could say it was when he discovered the sith academy on the planet's surface and learned about the existence of the true sith empire (eldritch horrors in the old plans for kotor 3). It was here he learnt about the Starforge and ultimately decided to embark on the path to find it and use its power to create a fleet that could fight them

In the Expanded Universe/Legends, The Old Republic Era takes place from 25,053 BBY (the founding of the Republic), until 1000 BBY (the Seventh Battle of Ruusan and the end of the New Sith Wars). The events here take place over 3,600 years before Ep 4.

Serious question: Why does the Jedi Order keep the Council governing structure no matter how many mistakes or bad decisions it makes?
Always sounds like mistakes are repeated and there is no culpability on the council.
Yea I agree no mater how far you go back the fact the jedi close themselves off ban that side of the force and certain emotions following a certain set of rules etc always causes fractures. Then and now their closed mindedness and complacency gives rise to their downfalls.
I think the best answer for this is that Jedi is a religious group more than a governing body. The best comparison would be the Catholic Church in the medieval age. This puts the Jedi in a position when changes to their structure questions the religion as a whole, leading to a splintering of the religion. Sorta like when Martin Luther proposed changes to the Catholic Church and accidentally started the reformation.
