I agree but don't at the same time. I love watching and drawing with her but my art starts being influence into her art instead of mine😔😁
There's actually an interesting reason why we tend to like our sketches more. When sketching, we tend to use more lines all around where we want it to be, and our brains kinda meld them together into an ideal. When we ink it for the final drawing, we are forced to choose only one of those lines, not the generalized ideal of the line.
Does that make sense? I'm not sure I described it right, lol
totally makes sense! our brains have a habit of fixing what we see in our heads when given the opportunity. so once we eliminate the possibilities and are stuck with one option, we can't do that anymore.

Me: "I don't know what that all means but I like the second sketch anyways."
I get it, though. It's kinda lackluster compared to the other sketch. It's static in term of movement and pose. And the expression is a bit bland. Basically, the sketch kind of lack the character that her sketch usually contain. Sometimes, even when other likes the artist's work, the artist just kind of have a nagging feeling that it's not right. God knows how many sketch I scrap before I settle on the right one when I'm working on my own project.

@@sparklepaintings3833 It's usually like that for me when inexperienced artists compare work to mine. Plus, they don't know what you were going for, so they might see it as a great piece, and how they just overlook the-insert random thing- when you had plans for that random thing that didn't work out. Plus, many times, there is low confidence in art, so, don't bring yourself down, just keep trying🤗

I remember my art teacher in high school. When we did critiques she would point out different points of some of the art the kids did and she would always say “that looks so yummy I wanna lick it”. She always had something eating art work, some things just looked yummy to her. When you did the overvoice of asking people not to eat the art remind me of her. You have her personality. She was amazing and so are you. Sorry this long but wanted to share it😳
Watching you ink those lines was so satisfying. India ink just has such great coverage that no other medium really covers.

I agree, I love the sketching part the most! As a kid, I watched documentaries on 2D animated Disney movies and I always loved the pencil tests more than the finished art. I really like seeing the strokes and linework.

i have the same probem
Maybe do quick sessions of body studying where instead of trying to draw a very detailed and refined character just make poses. For exemple find à référence pick that seems to have an interesting pose going on and then try drawing it with rough shapes (like circles ovals rectangles etc) just so that you can figure out the dynamism of the body. So the most important thing is understanding the body and its articulations before trying to do fancy details. So first you exercice with the articulations, the general pose and the rough shapes of the body then you try understanding how the muscles add to that basic structure and how they are supoosed to play around the bones etc. Try maybe various different poses that you may not be familiar with in order to escape that kinda static feeling! (Wow that was long sorry!)

Itzzz cherry when drawing try drawing a line of motion and don’t focus on detail just on blocking out the main shape try to make over dramatic poses so they don’t look stiff when drawing idk if this helps at all but with my art style I gets it’s harder If you add details to soon🎨🎨
