- We discuss the updated 2023 CT5-V Blackwing to showcase beast-like performance. This quick review shows the highlights of engineering and V8 savagery. Others to consider are BMW M5, AMG C63, Lexus LC500, Porsche 911, and Audi RS6.

Cadillac making some of the best performance sedans in 2023 was not something I expected, but I appreciate it.
2022
@Salty Florida Man of course Florida Man wouldn't know what year it is.
Why did you not expect it? The CTS-V and now the CT5-V have always been great
@@jacobyo99 so what? This is the same company that axed the Camaro and turned the Blazer into a crossover.
None of us did. Could you imagine saying that in 1995?! LOL Id laugh in your face!
I love laughing out loud with Mark and Jack while they're uncontrollably laughing out loud. Fast cars are awesome.
Man the guns, Mark!
RRRRRRRRRRRRR
These guys need to find a third and make a new Top Gear! These videos are just perfect!
@@anydaynow01 My dream is they merge with Throttle House.
A brand new luxury sedan from Cadillac with a V8 and a manual transmission...in 2023.
The last time this happened was in 1959 😮
@Phillip Velednitskiy have you been alive in the last couple of decades bud? The original CTS-V was a manual rwd v8 super sedan. And the 2nd gen was the first 4 door to ever get under 8 minutes at the Nurburgring
should have been available with an na v8
668 hp AWESOME
@@saltyfloridaman7163 Broski I’m not talking about the past 20 years. I know.
That last sentence was exactly what I thought when I drove one of these. There's no way I could own this because I'd be in jail.
I downgraded to something more tame for my daily because exactly this.
I would look at a chevy SS (Holden Commodore) same formula, just naturally aspirated with less power. Actually slightly roomier too, and infinitely more easily moddable with the LS3.
@@geerstyresoil3136 great cars but people want stupid money for them
@@wigletron2846 true, but you'll but easily pay over double for a new CT5-V-BW in this crazy market. I really wish they made a NA V8 with a stick and called it a Buick or something. I don't need 670 hp, just want the updated chassis and handling.
@@geerstyresoil3136 true. I just couldn't pay more for an SS than when they were new. It's a shame how nuts the market is now. Besides that it's only Chargers.
Mark in the passenger seat just improved my Monday morning outlook by 150%. Absolutely hilarious.
The T-Level gauge slowly rising through each turn and dig out had me signing up for gym memberships in other countries because this one couldn't handle all the weight I was going to push after this review. Thanks for bringing me to my senses with your final thoughts and saving the planet with all the air travel I wouldn't book.
Whenever Mark and Jack laugh like a LC bouncing off the rev limiter, I know the car is gooood😂 7:26
If you look closely you can see the T-LVL exceeding over a 1000 ng/dl, which means at 7:26 jack gets a 100mg shot of deca right into his spinal cord and his power level goes OVER 9000!!!!
this to me is the measure of a sports car, not lap times.
love to see it, this part of the video was heartwarming
"Man the guns, Mark!" as Mark holds the oh shit handle the whole time 😂 You guys are brilliant!
It always amazes me that EVERY CT5V Blackwing CZcams reviews features the drivers giggling during the entire test drive! What a car!
It's why I bought one. Even with the auto I love it. After a few thousand miles the 10 speed learns and calibrates itself and becomes better, and I've gotten a 3.2second 0-60mph by launching from 2nd gear in manual mode and immediately switching back to auto mode once I got rolling. It's very very very fast for a 4,000lb sedan
@@saltyfloridaman7163 It's actually cool to hear from someone that bought the 10 speed, I know everyone is raving about the manual but honestly for what I'd use the car for the 10 speed seems like the better buy
@@tyler9703 are you using it for something other than driving? Because if you plan on driving it then manual is the way to go 😜
Owned one of the first 250 6MT slicktop with every option, one of the few cars I regret selling.
Watching Jack and Mark barrel around a race track, laughing involuntarily, is what male friendship is all about.
AAAAAAAAH. *turns* AAAAAAHHHH
Those track reactions tell me everything I needed to know, and I’ll definitely look at one of these (in 15 years when I can afford it)
Hopefully the used markets shifted enough that these will become used bargain sleepers for $20k. Because these things (even in auto) would be a blast
Nothing that's this good, with a V-8 and a manual transmission, is going to go down in price.
You will never able to afford one unfortunately. This car will be a collector item.
In 15 years, cars like these will be banned.
They are so rare and the last of its kind I only seeing them going up.
Best video in your entire catalog. The visceral reaction to its character makes me want to buy one immediately. I know this car is amazing but watching you and Mark so thoroughly enjoy it sealed the dea for me.
Your most hilarious driving segment! Also, GM’s new T-Level feedback meter is groundbreaking ❤😂
As someone who recently bought one of these I can tell you my T levels are off the freaking chart.
I bought one too. Car is so freaking sick.
I also bought one. Base model with 10 speed in Emerald frost paint, white interior, bronze wheels, carbon brakes, and carbon fiber pack 1 and 2 with a GM performance intake. Beautiful car, fast as fuck, and rides bumpy back roads like it floats over
@@saltyfloridaman7163 i got a 22 black on black w all carbon options. 10 speed auto.
Damn y’all got big money lol I just bought a used ls460
@@JDMSwervo2001 keep at it man. 8 years ago I was driving a dodge dart lol. Manage your money wisely, try your best to keep positive equity in your cars, and count your blessings! It’ll come.
Great quick review. I got mine 2 months ago and it's been simply awesome. It's an E39 M5 intensified and evolved over 20+ years. Highly, highly recommend.
Nailed it. An E39 M5 is relevant 20 years later for the same reasons this will be relevant 20 years from now. I don’t feel the same at all about the E60/F10/F90 M5s.
Its an easy recommendation as long as you can afford a 6 figure car...
Considering its more than double the median US income, it will unfortunately just stay a dream for us mortals
These days Cadillac is make cars that are more BMW than BMWs are these days. BMW needs to go back to it roots and make visceral ultimate driving machines again that don't cost a small mortgage!
@@anydaynow01 Uhhh....you forgot theM5 CS, do you?
Kids in The Hall reference gets you tops points! well done.
Im happy someone got that
I mean this car is an ENTIRELY new vehicle.
Think of how much weight shifted to the rear with the addition of that emblem. Jack, I think you may need to call GM and convert this into a long term loaner so you can truly evaluate the cosmic level changes of the blackwing logo on the rear deck lid. Oh and don't forget to let them know that you'll need another LTL for the mid cycle refresh. We understand that this would be grueling testing but it is all in the name of science.
Cadillac should just upload this video as their official ad, it works!
Silverback Jack's out here playing real life Mario Kart!
Good thing there were no turtles shells flying around, though Jack would probably avoid them.
I have the CT4 Blackwing and it's a phenomenal car - under the radar and you don't see them everywhere like M3's. Also manual!
You also don’t see CTS-Vs parked in repair shops as often as M3s.
They should call it the M(oney)(exponential)3 because they cost 3 times what you paid for one to keep it running.
Well if you want quality do not buy german!
It also looks about 1 million times nicer. Any day I don’t see a current gen M3 it’s a good day.
@@jessejimenez9915 I feel the same way about your wife!
My wife daily’s a CTS-V wagon you want to talk about unassuming…….most people never seen one or even know what the hell it is.😂
Even the so called “car guys” I’ve run into. Very funny conversations.
Danger to prostate made me actually laugh out loud 😂 You guys never cease to entertain
Love this. Can't wait to see Mark and Jack hooning a 2024 Nissan Altima SR VC-Turbo; I heard one of the best available track mods is opting out of your car insurance.
I thought it was replacing the windows with trash bags
Many are optioned with the turn signal delete package.
@@jmakhlouf422 🤣😅😂
That whole bit starting at 7:15 had me rolling lol
When the first gen Cadillac CTS was featured in the Matrix Reloaded, it had the look of good things to come. 20 years later, here we are.
DANGER TO PROSTATE
If I could only have one car this might be it.
You’re vídeos are so informational and amazing at mixing a unique style of comedy. I’ve watched for years and years and can’t ask for more.
Holy F -- one of the best driving segments ever, you all had me rolling - Ape-Like driving induced Mark and Jack laughter soothes the soul. Better than meditation.
I literally said out loud "oh no" when I saw the opening with Mark eating the banana. I knew then, that this vid was gonna be gold.
The Academy called and screamed Mr. Bunghole nailed the overhead shot of drifting over banana peels! *chef’s kiss*
One of the best reviews you’ve done! So great!
Oh man after this video my T-levels are up 100%. My wife has abandoned her boyfriend for me finally. Grr pushups, crunches. All that V8.
So glad someone is still making cars like this
Easily one of my favourite openings of all time. Man, the effort and polish you guys put in is unparalleled. Disney called it "bumping the lamp" , which sounds dirty, but is not.
The license concerns I also feel are real, friends have GT500s and I don’t know how they can not get monster tickets with them
track days like this makes the monkey urges disappear on the street (mostly).
@@geerstyresoil3136 only if you go often enough.. what you're talking about would need to be once every three weeks 😂
Probably because they don’t use them to their full potential?
I love how Mark is always thrown around when Jack is behind the wheel!!
At the 7:59 transition to final thoughts, I half expected to see Jack sitting at a Steinway piano in tuxedo with tails and Phantom of the Opera mask. BRAVO!!
It was a bit of a miserable Monday morning, but this fixed that. Thank You!
😂 man I needed this laugh today. Great video. Short and sweet
This is my ultimate dream car. If I was in an even better position financially, I would trade up my 6-speed manual 2017 Chevrolet SS Sedan for a 6-speed manual Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing in a heartbeat and without question.
I love all you content but, this was fun to watch. The drive! I was smiling the whole time!
I had the most fun watching this video above any other video in a very long time! What a great car and I loved watching every second of it!!
It is BEAUTIFUL to see Mark and Jack laugh so hard and let go!!!
I really wish I could sell every car I owned and buy one of these. I couldn't imagine what you guys feel when you drive this car hard. What an amazing platform built by GM. I can only hope this isn't the last 😢. Great video as usual guys
It’s the last. :(😢
That edit through the driving sections was greatness!
Great video! Extremely entertaining and fun. Keep up the great work guys!
New blackwing trunk badge has got to be good for at least +50HP 😆
This car really is something special... in terms of no compromises, I got mine up to 30MPG on the way back to California from Spring Mountain. So it's also an economy car
Another amazing video guys! Love every one!
The driving segment was the best scene in the entirety of savagegeese. Loved it.
Smashed that like as soon as I saw the banana peel toss!😊
20 years ago, I'd never have considered a Cadillac. Now, I am a Caddy V-Car owner and love every second of it
Finally a dedicated episode... I've been praying someone one would do it justice before I would need to. I'd even argue the 4 is an all around better buy than it's class competition as well
Thanks for putting out this video guys. Freaking hilarious! I love all the gorilla and testosterone cracks with the cackling laughter. I know it was only done because Jack needed another excuse to vaporize some tires in the CT5V but I enjoyed it nonetheless. You know it’s good when even Mark has no choice, but to temporarily shelve his (deserved) anti-GM bias.
ONE OF THE BEST CAR REVIEWS I WATCHED
That glorious sound is worth the price of admission, GLORIOUS!
Spiritual successor to the Holden VF Commodore/Chevy SS. The way it just flies sideways round corners like a lunatic, guarantee there was some ex-Holden engineers on the development team
No, it's literally the successor to the CTS-V that's been in production since 2004. They just changed the S to a 5
@@saltyfloridaman7163 Yep, and the Chevy SS was basically the cheaper non-luxury version of the CTS-V.
Chevy SS and Pontiac G8 and Police only Chevy Caprice (Holden Commodore) were on the larger, Australian developed, Zeta platform. Last CTS and this CT5 are on the Alpha platform shared with the 6th gen Camaro. Nothing in common
Love this car, LOVE this video! I had SUCH a great time just watching this, much more than any other car video ever, hands down. Thanks guys, I was feeling like shit until I watched this.
Barney Bunghole was my Favorite Director at the Lansing Film Festival / Banana Hot Dog eating contest.
Honestly the best review yet 😂 pure gold
"I don't believe in warm ups Mark...... Yeah!" - Jack
I was cracking up at you guys laughing. Great video!
Jack going full gorilla mode will never not make me smile
This is so great! The in car commentary? Hilarious! Thank you!
That was a blast to watch!!! Thanks Gentlemen!
I’m excited to see the refresh of the CT5 this summer. Interior should be a million times better
This is a a reformed C8 interior.... Great content !!!!!!!!!
I love everything about these reviews
I work for a GMC dealership, and we recently got 2 of these in that the dealership specially ordered. $115k each.
The title of this video alone made me laugh then watching it was such fun. Cadillac is going all out on its final ICE tour. All though I'm not getting this car, I am getting the Escalade V and I can't wait for it to arrive!
Great show and commentary!!!
Watching this for the third time. I love you guys more each time
This & the M5 CS are my 2 favorite sedans
Short but 1 of your better videos. The driving is hilarious!
Videos get better and better
Straight out!! Phenomenal review of a spectacular sleeper sedan! I’d clearly buy this over an m5 or AMG👍🏼
Good to see cars like this still being made.
The driving segment ending with a full minute straight of manic laughter is what dealers need to have a on a loop in showrooms
amazing as always
This. This is the one. The car. The review. All of it. GOAT.
Oh man...thanks for making me actually laugh out loud!! That was funny af. Cheers from NZ guys.
5 minutes of minor technical update followed by 5 minutes of exhaust and laughter. Standard😂🍻
I enjoyed the track scene more than any other test drive video ever. Ever. Ever. Thanks for letting me ride along. (I absolutely would have pissed my pants 😅)
Awesome video guys!
The kids in the hall Intro, respect
I loved Mark's reaction to Jack driving the CT5V in the track. Mark was scared for his life. 🤣😂
0:52 I appreciate this very much
This video is hilarious, thanks for that!! 🤣👍
Loved this review
Love these cars! Bought 2 of these!
Love it! Great video.
Always love when Jack gets giggly
7:23 🤣 I’m loving the amount of fun you guys are having, just cackling like a couple of lunatics. Lol.
Well done guys great vid
The Caddy looks surprisingly good in Grabber Blue.. And as always sounds amazing
That certainly looked like a lot of fun...what a car! Great little review! 🤣🤣🤣
Mark’s noises is what did it for me
I just bought a white 2024 last week with the manual transmission. Replaces my 2017 Chevrolet SS, also had the manual. Last of its kind, and I have to be in on that.
Bought one about 6 months ago. Its as advertised. I'd highly suggest scooping one up.
The big YEEEEUHHHHHHHH as the T Level Tracker pegs out was hilarious
This was THE most hilarious video I’ve ever seen capturing pure driving fun between friends. I will pirate clips from this (and give credit haha!)!
Those throws sounded fkn great. What a beauty.
