Ekanoo went 5.73 over a year ago. They have two 2jz car running in the 5s. If they want the record back I think they will get it. They do have the fastest door car in the world at 5.30s at 279.99 with a twin turbo hemi. Just a badass team. Great job by all running anywhere near these times that said. It's an amazing accomplishment. Any car running this fast is but specially with an inline 6. That's coming from a v8 guy. I earned their respect many years ago. I just had the pleasure of working on the original 2jz supra king Vinny Ten's car back in the day when he was the first to go 7s almost 20 years ago. Actually first to 12,11,10,9,8 and 7's lol. Congratulations for that 5.60s pass enjoy it while it last. Someone's always knocking on the door these days.

The reason I said not quite is because funny car engines are basically dodge hemis on steroids. Just like you I think it’s amazing how a production car v8 can be morphed into 10000 hp monsters. I believe that class rules allow only one 98mm turbo but twins or compound wouldn't make it faster his single is capable of more boost than his block could handle and anti lag means no waiting for it to spool compounds usually have a small turbo that boosts first and die to small size spools fast then a bigger one takes over but antilag takes care of all that and his motech computer has launch control anti lag and you can set different levels of boost for each gear what's limiting him is a factory made block but a billet one is coming soon they can handle 100 psi plus and are lighter there's 100 kg to be lost on that car before it's at class minimum weight
Yes u are right about the single turbo rule but a compound set up is definitely faster check out jett racing colins Mitsubishi ecilpse low 6s from a billet 4g63 and he can still pedal the car on and off and maintain boost but with a big single turbo u can't either on song or it's over
The high trap speed can't be fluked it's also a sign that with a good reaction time the record will happen especially as his r/t on that run was about .700 slower than those above him

Rod is a true kiwi battler,his chassis is a few years old, factory non billet block,small team with a tiny budget compared to his competitors.i know rod gonna put all together and be no.1 in the near future.
this was the fastest speed when I uploaded this but just last week big21 broke this record by going 260 mph in the quarter with just a few tenths slower time. Rod is racing next weekend at the Winternationals in Australia so hopefully we'll see some more new records.

Seb C You could say that for most drag cars in this class. Is a top fuel hemi the Same as a hemi from dodge of course not, how could you even compare the two. Any engine in this class is insanely modified. But honestly you can make a toaster go 5.7 if you have enough money.

It's not so much about the race. This is an acceleration/speed challenge. When Ferrari, McLaren, Tesla, Corvette announce a new model, the first thing everyone is talking about is their 0 - 100 time. Think about it, this car is going from standing still to 413 kph in just 5.7 seconds. It's absolutely phenomenal, it's quicker than the space shuttle or a fighter jet and 5 times faster than any of the cars I mentioned above.

This is an awesome car but I think you might have your "perspective" off just a little. The four cars you listed are "Super Cars", not "quarter mile dragsters". Yes, the Toyota might have them as far as "Top Speed" goes, but the dragster isn't designed to go two hundred and fifty plus miles an hour over long distances, where the super cars are. That would be like peeling an orange and expecting it to taste like an apple. The Toyota would be great for the street if you're racing city block to city block, but if you want to get from Cali to Florida in record time, better grab one of those super cars.

Puertorricans are better in 4 and 6 cylinder car racing..In 2JZ they have about 4 cars faster than this one. All of them made in Puerto Rico.In rotary power they are also the best..Don't know what they do..Just want to know the secret..
