Perhaps if you run and hand launch, thing will turn out differently. Plank wing loves airspeed given the shorter moment arm, i.e. elevator control becoming stronger as airspeed builds up. I hope you will have success in future attempts 😊
Could your mistake come from the wrong name „elevator“ of conventional airplanes? Because the so called elevator is‘nt a tail elevator but a tail downholder.
Instead of plank style wings that use elevons I prefer planes like the LanierR/C Shrike or Sig Wonder due to they didn't have them bad tendencies with their semi tail and elevator
@@NicksR.C. you can't buy the shrike kit anymore unless you can find a very old one on eBay but I'm building a 36-in wingspan one for fpv(that I have almost done) from a set of plans I found on the internet and had printed and I do know that sig manufacturing still sells the Wonder because I bought one a couple months ago to put on the shelf for for one of my next winter time projects..
You can't (well you can but shouldn't) build an airplane missing the horizontal stab with no further thought to longitudinal stability and expect it to fly.
I spent dozens of hours flying a wing like that with a OS25FSR. Great fun.
The great OS FSR engines. I still have a couple of .40FSRs , had many years of great fun with those. Then I quit nitro fuel altogether.
Well that went well....
Try turning it upside down?😊😮
I did not see any reflex in the elevons for take off, that is a must for that type of aircraft.
Perfect!
That ding when it hit .... OH-YOU-SEE-HECH !!!!
Wing tip launching like that is bound for failure, I grip mine between the elevons and give a tiny shove
I learned about "REFLEX" that way! (elevon reflex, that is!)
WHOOPS
Wasn't the shortest flight I've ever seen👍

That is correct, inside of a certain envelope, the elevator is effective. Great call 🤙🤙
@katana50cc you must be a real pilot.
@@NicksR.C. Try bungee start or using landing gears? I've built a similar flying plank. Needs speed and positive Cm0.
I don't know why but I can't stop laughing😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dang at least post the redemption flight 😅
Hahaha. It was too small and too fast to film. I only got a little bit of it. I will though!
Well...... that went well lol. Nice try though, back to the drawing board!

Hahahaha. Das ist sehr gut !!

I have a wonder from 20 years ago when I was a kid. It's never flown. I am going to try and get it running this summer.

Elevators backwards?
I believe that's what happened. It actually flew very successfully right after, but it is very sensitive to CG. Fast and snappy.
He though he had throttle on both sticks.

hahahaha
Bad launch
