Zamperla Air Race Info and History - Flat Ride Friday 17

- Zamperla introduced the Air Race in 2010 as a completely new and unique ride. The ride is offered in 5 versions that all do the same basic movement. The ride spins clockwise and the rider vehicles, attached to arms that stick out from the ride spin on their own axis, inverting and flipping as the ride spins.

This Is Who I Am (Instrumental Version) - Tape Machines
This one is so much fun. Has the right intensity without being nauseating. Looks gorgeous at night!
I rode the model at Carowinds, and boy it was a lot of inversions. I probably should have had more nutrition and hydration in my body, but it definitely made me slightly queasy.
Zamperla does make some of the best modern classic flat rides. I had no clue how great Air Race is selling, I hope other models like Endeavour sell just as well.
Very fun flat ride, been on three of the five variants I believe. Though I much prefer the interactivity of the Gerstlauer Sky Rollers.
This is really a fun ride experience. Not too intense, kinda chill, and not nauseating. ZAmperla hit the right spot there! I haven't rode a Super version, but I kinda feel like the appeal of the Air Race is also the proximity to the ground.
I have been on the one in Tivoli Gardens, which easily has to be the prettiest one out there. Not necessarily in terms of theming, but the lighting is gorgeous, and riding it close to midnight was a seriously surreal experience
Tried my first at Beech Bend. An interesting compact thrill ride that pulls some surprising forces.
Me and my son rode Air race at Beech Bend in Ky. It was a super fun ride!!!!!
You didn't mention the one at Luna Park NYC. You did include quite a bit of footage from that installation, though.
Least intense sprit airlines flight 💀
First time riding one was at OWA in Foley, AL! It was super fun and it would be nice to see one at Dollywood one day!
Ive been in one at Carowinds! One of my favorite flat rides!
There's a western themed one at Beto Carrero World in Brazil. The park named it Rebuliço. Really fun ride.
The theming put on the Avatar version of the ride is actually so well done??? It feels like the park owners saw a ride that could fit an IP well, which is a really nice amount of care to put into an IP experience. No idea if that translates to anything else in the park or mall haha, but I hope to visit it!
I've been on Lagoon's Air Race and it's such a fun ride
I've only been on 1 of them, Air Race at Drayton Manor. It was a really fun ride but I then had to be evacuated off it...
Why did you have to be evacuated?
These ride are super fun. They’re not too intense, but not boring. I rode Dare Devil Dive at SFFT.
I went on this once, at Casino Pier in Seaside Heights (before they took it out). I think it was an 8x2 model. Just made me too dizzy, though now that I got those wrist-beads again, maybe I'd give it another go. It wouldn't surprise me to see Knoebels get one at some point.
didn't Carowinds get an Air Race for their new aviation themed section last year? I've been to Cedar Point 15 times this year and I never see you. where are you hiding out?
Just a correction: When you mentioned about the 8.4 version of Air Race located in Fantasilandia, Chile, you showed an image of Rebuliço, the another 8.4 version located in Beto Carrero World, Brazil.
Thanks for FRF bud
I'll get the rest of the episodes out shortly! Thanks for supporting the series!
Awesome video as always! Wish you touched on the portable vs permanent ones but besides that it was great! I love these things!
Hey, can you do a video sometime on operational delays and what exactly they are?
the air race has to be my favorite flat ride. there is one at the shore point i go to. pretty sure its the 8.2.
That’s impressive this ride type has not had any bad issues
Still on my personal FRF wishlist (while acknowledging that some of these will appear this season):
Matterhorn / Flying Bobs & Trabant / Hully Gully - these were mentioned in a previous video, and I look forward to seeing them.
.
[old-school and/or unique]
Boomerang ... I remember seeing this at Casino Pier a LONG time ago, when I was too young for such things [8:00 mark of czcams.com/video/YwKNQgnkJyQ/video.html]
'Sidewheeler' (or maybe 'Sidewinder') ... looking a bit like the inner workings of a watch, this one-of-a-kind SFGA installation was something to see. [a brief image can be seen in AT's first episode of the history of SFGA]
dont forget to do a video on the skrace ride its brother by zamperla
This would be good at Family Kingdom in Myrtle Beach
Six flags America should get one for their new steam town
Do the SBF Air Maxx
Question, how come each individual arms spin differently from the other arms?
Eac one has its own motor, if that was your question..?
@KingRCT3 yeah, but wouldn't they all spin in sync with each other in the same direction? To me, it looks like it's rider controlled.
@@markvolpe2305 No, it's random. Definitely not rider controlled, I rode a few versions already and I can tell for sure ;)
