  • 12volts seems to be a pretty common setup for little electric kids cars, comprising in this case, of 2 x 6v batteries.
In a DC electric motor, the speed is directly linked to the volts, so a third battery in series gives us 18v, and a theoretical 50% increase in motor speed.
I added this 3rd battery for a bit of speed boost with minimal effort (truly minimal as you'll see in the video.)
I haven't gotten the motor out to look at it's actual capacity, but it hasn't blown up yet.
If you blow yours up doing this. It's not my fault.

Have you tried running it on 18v when using the remote control? Mine seems to power the rear wheels ok at 18v on remote but steering wont work

So far so good. 24v was too much though.

It's got a 6v mode. I use that and charge them one at a time.

Hi Gary. It's just two female spade crimp terminals and some automotive wire. There's already a jumper between the two batteries, you just need to make another one to go between the 2nd and 3rd battery.

What speed did the car have before and after? Speed by the manual not by aproximation

I didn't measure it that accurately. Went from a medium walk to a fast walk?
