      Actually as ling as theyve got some tread on them there is no use changing them. In the heat youre going to get blowouts no matter if theyre new or used. Most of these heavy load operators will put all their used tires on the trailer and good tires on the prime mover, far cheaper to blow youre used tires than brand new ones, this is why they have so many tires and axles to carry the weight and still operates even if youve got multiple tire blowouts. Changing all 96 tires for new ones will set you back close to $40k

      when you have 96 tyres you run them until they blow.

    • @pnwRC.

      @@longy6612 Are there not governmental regulations pertaining to these tires? In America there are predetermined conditions that mandate when a tire must be removed from the vehicle before it is allowed to safely be on the roads. Items such as cracks, rot, tread depth, air pressure, rips, tears, missing parts/pieces, lugnut tightness, & others have clear rules & regulations when the tire becomes unserviceable.

    I assume those trailers are built for this situation, having enough axles and tires to be able to accommodate a problem like that so they can make it to their destination without risking lives of someone attempting to change tires on a trailer hauling something of that magnitude. Just by the way the show was portraid I also assume there are chain points to hold up the axles that have a blown tire due to the fact that once a tire separates it causes alot of damage on the rest of the trailer including main airlines that could be damaged would stop the entire fleet from moving for an extended period of time due to brake and other issues

    • @trippnoutmotorsport3164
      @trippnoutmotorsport3164 Před 2 lety +2

      The trailers can handle running with axles up, however there is a law that requires certain amount of axles on the ground per ton.
      And they also have a pin that slides in and locks the axle up off the ground.

    In those heat conditions less air in the tire would result in less blowout

    • @tba3900
      @tba3900 Před rokem +1

      Less air pressure ,means the tyre sidewalls flex more creating more heat which then causes tyre delamination.

    • @t-dog8528
      @t-dog8528 Před 7 měsíci

      Nah it would be the complete opposite, sidewall failures and delamination would occur
