Kim, after 12 years of designing and building Aquaponics systems, I believe that I am the resident expert on pond and aquarium pumps, at least in your comment section... That 1 - 2 feet rating is what I was warning you about. These are valveless vane pumps, for this one to do what you want it to do, it is going to have to sit on the mill table...
I think you need to build or buy a tool and cutter grinder to sharpen your end mills etc. recirculating pump is actually a good idea, make sure you use some kind of filter or that pump won’t last long.

I don't think you need coolant. You have been using dull cutters. Clearly. That is what is making all that heat. Get some sharp end mills. Seriously. And slow the speed down a bit. You may be making them dull from spinning too fast. Just some ideas from what I see. Enjoy. -----Doozer
