- The cap space plan... worked? The Sixers landed Paul George on a four-year deal to come to Philadelphia and join Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey to compete for a title. The Sixers also signed Andre Drummond and Eric Gordon to smaller deals. We did this pod at 11pm on Sunday trying to wait for the PG deal to happen. We tried!

Honestly yeah, if there were any two players I prayed for us to re-sign, it was Batum and Oubre. Don’t know if getting PG will outweigh the sadness of losing those guys.

You guys may end up talking about it, but my first thought on July 6th is that we may look back and see Daryl was seasons ahead of other front offices in understanding how to best exploit the new CBA. He definitely has every dollar available modeled to every transaction That happens in the league
The ONLY times in recent NBA history where this type of free agent signing have happened are Durant to the Warriors and LeBron to the Cavs/Lakers. There hasn’t been anyone else this high caliber in this age range signing to a contender without assets changing hands for like 30 years. That’s how optimal this situation is.

Everyone loves Drummond because he rebounds. Which is the biggest reason the Sixers lose every playoffs outside of Joels injuries but then forgets about it in the offseason
LA kept the wrong guy. Kawhi should have been booted. PG at least took 3 teams to conference finals. Maybe u think he was sick also of no Kawhi when team needed him. I think having a good young star player in Maxey helped alot. If it was just Joel he probably wouldn't come
