ABOUT US
Hi! We are high school sweethearts from Atlanta, Georgia who decided to take a year off to travel around the world. Together we decided to create vlogs for our journey as a fun way to remember it. On September 15, 2019, we left Atlanta with 3 bags, 2 one-way tickets, and 1 goal of traveling for a whole year. Little did we know, 6 months later we would find ourselves in a nationwide lockdown in India. After spending 5 months in India, we came back to the United States and decided to purchase a 34’ Trawler, dive headfirst into boat life, and kick-off America’s Great Loop.
The good, the bad, the ugly - and most importantly, the real and real funny. We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.”, just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you - the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem.
Thank you for following us along our journey!

Thank you for watching! This video was filmed on July 6th. Our total for 4 months on the Loop was $12,401.45 which comes out to roughly $3,100 per month. We hope you enjoyed this, and stay tuned to our future adventures!

Thanks for sharing the highs and the lows - I especially appreciate Jen's honesty about anxiety. I think from a mental health perspective that honesty is inspirational for those with these types of struggles. I developed a totally irrational fear of flying later in life. It's something I doubt will ever change but having a healthy perspective on it is important. And Jen's courage in the face of those anxieties is remarkable.
Thanks so much. It means alot to hear this, sometimes its tough to be honest and transparent online but we try our best ♥️
Spiders are extremely common in the upper Midwest for some reason, and yes, on the docks. We bring our houseboat to the beaches and zero issues. Once we dock for the week on Sunday…spider heaven. Don’t stay at a slip with a cover, twice as bad. They drop from the covers frame.
“The bugs…it’s like the wind has become physical.” I think I will remember that line the rest of my life. It’s like when my cousin Joey said “the temperature is perfect you don’t feel anything.”
Loved this. We live in Minetto and the river is in our backyard (literally). We enjoy seeing all the boats, yachts, and kayaks go by. Thanks for sharing your view of the canal system and river. And yes…the tons of spiders are definitely a part of life on the river.
I enjoy all of your videos. All of the good, the bad, and the ugly of motoring on the loop. 🤠
The first (but not only) time I tried to start my engine in gear I about had a panic attack! It only took me about 10 seconds to figure out what the problem was, but those ten seconds were pretty intense.
Sounds like you’ve been there!
Yay for Ollie’s bath.
I know when anxiety is an issue that it's impossible to tell you not to worry, but try to relax a bit if you can because you are doing GREAT!! You are completely rocking it.
Make sure to stop by Richardson Canal house inn Bushnell basin for a bite to eat!
Love the details you include the good and the bad parts of your journey.
Always, just keeping it real! Thanks for watching Phillip!
Fun…kayakers! I hope your travels on the Great Lakes were smooth, uneventful and fun…growing up very close to Lake Michigan I know how quickly they can change! Wow, those beet bowls looked yummy! Safe and happy travels!
Spray Raid on the ropes and dock cleats. Works for me.
It's like the end of the world, depression, anxiety, frustration and then "O" 🙃 it's in gear 😀
1/3 of the loop done YAY 👍👍👍
Thanks Bubba!
Great job getting to the great lakes ! 👍
And Lake Ontario is the Smallest one!😁
Good footage and story as always, keep it up!
See a lot of breweries on your expense reports, you’re doing it right.🍺
Now for the big water again. Great lakes are sometimes a surprise but you shouldn't have a problem with serious planning. Canals are truly an experience and one you will always remember. Head for Chicago and hope for the best. Enjoy
I said it for the last video, but again... poor Ollie.
Another great installment. As I spend my days winterizing my boat.
Haha poor Ollie
Lol. I found a little crab crawling up my line in Carrabelle.
haha part of the life!
Jenn, greetings from Carolina Beach! You should read a book called "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle. It is a life-changer if you can work through it and practice his teachings. Keep up the videos! As a merchant mariner I always find it fascinating to watch this kind of content.
Awesome video..Safe crossing Lake Ontario..🇨🇦🇨🇦 Exciting...
Hi Scho and Jo, I've been out of the "loop" for awhile. My little Lady passed away and I have been feeling quite low. I followed your progress and seeing Olie always gives me joy. In reality, where are you now on your adventure? Aloha!
So sorry to hear that Steve. Our thoughts are with you! In real time we are on the Tennessee River.
I really enjoy watching your videos, keep it going. I hope you're not done boating after the loop.
Your lucky the lock master opened the door without catching that fish first. :-)
Great videos of the etie canal. 99% of that debris that you saw was from flooding in the spring. Safe travels to you both.
lol we had the same
Problem in the same
Lock in our trip in September .. we left on 1 motor then the second started when we tied up on that wall
Had '68 Buick Skylark convertible in college. Not as nice as you think, but was in south Florida! Sometimes had to go out of park and back in, sometimes more than once and forcefully. Anytime in anything that doesn't start 1st thing I check. It's normally not that easy, but save a lot of bad words when it does.
The first thing I wanted to do was check the gear selector to see if you were in neutral when you hit the start button!
Ahead of the game!! 😁
A double like for Olie. P.S. Did the same thing when we did the sea trial on our tug. Couldn't get it started....We scrapped the trial until able to contact the owner who told us to make sure we were in neutral... DOH!
Haha you get it! Easy to overlook!
Love watching your videos
Always look forward to your videos and having the opportunity of traveling the great loop with you! As for your 🕷 spider problems, a peppermint oil spray may be helpful. It repels spiders, bugs, roaches, and vermin. You can find it on Amazon and won't be harmful for Ollie. I am planning the loop in 2 years and would love to see a video on how you create and edit your videos.
Great tips Dennis! We may make a video on that, or even a course!
as always, great episode !
Thanks!
I........ MustacheU.....a question..... 😂🤣😅🤩
😂
@@SchoandJo So those spiders.... Skeerie!!!
You are Very!..)
I enjoy your channel. I 'm curious why your videos are several months after the fact, Just busy I guess,
Exactly, they take a lot of time and the Loop takes a lot of time 😁
Your videos are amazing!! I so want to do the Great Loop with my wife Jennifer. Saying this with love and respect.... Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
👍
Good luck doing the loop!
You need a folding dolly or cart so you dont have to carry your groceries and laundry
Where are you at currently? I see Nebo isn't track you right now.
The Tennessee River!
Birdsong is a pretty cool place if your a Patsy Cline fan. Her crash site is there. Loretta Lynn's ranch is there too. Birdsong has an old pearl farm there and a museum.
for the beautiful and now fresh cleaned baby, she looks like she earned an extra treat and belly rub. my chuawaw / terry faces away and gives me the look back stink eye.
Jen... With the level of your anxiety how is it that you travel to foreign countries and navigated cultures effortlessly? Is it just and only boat related? No judgement...just 🤔 wondering?
