Take A Walk Through Ancient Wiltshire - Stonehenge to Avebury & onto Wayland's Smithy

- Follow me as I venture from Stonehenge over Salisbury Plain to Avebury and onto Wayland's Smithy Long Barrow via The Wessex Ridgeway and Ridgeway national trail. A distance of just under 50 miles, I try and route past as many ancient features as I could fit in. This includes monuments built in key prehistoric periods, from the Neolithic, Bronze age and Iron age, up to the Medieval period.
Thank you for this video! I have tons of ancestors from this area (Dew, Jones, Edwards, Birch, Benger, and Watts) and it was great to see the area they lived in. I live in the states and have never been to England so it was a great tour. Thank you!

I've walked most of those areas, returning to Avebury as often as possible. Great energy there 🌀
I was looking out for Alton Barnes and Alton Priors, with their interesting history, church and well but you must've past by them.
By the way, in regard to your 'walking like an old lady' remark, old men do too 🤣😂

relax - long range snipers are pretty accurate. The MOD do publish a timetable of firing dates
Aye, I had some conflicting information from OS Maps and the phone line wasn’t much help, but my concern was getting shouted at for being in the wrong place! All is well that’s ends well though 😅
