  • In this video I share the care tips for the anthurium crystallinum and do a side-by-side comparison VS the Anthurium clarinervium. This is probably the most common of the heart-shaped leaf anthuriums that are grown more for its foliage than flowers. The care is a little bit different from your other aroids so do pay attention as I share with you my care tips and secrets for this species. I also propagate this plant using water, soil, and leca medium and give you guys an update. Get ready to see some serious root porn in this video!

Just to let you know - LECA is already designed to share moisture, the clay covering of the balls will wick the moisture up through capillary action so you don't need the twine. That's the whole point we use LECA not random river rocks as a growing medium. You can use the wick to bring water into the container if it sits above it but not through the container if there is water at the bottom, it might be making it too wat actually. Also, I don't think your plant minds the algae, those tropical plants are surrounded by algae in the rainforest canopy all the time, I'm sure it could grow happy with it sharing the container. Were you feeding it consistently? LECA doesn't store nutrients so you need to feed the plant a lot.

Just found your channel, and I’m in the process of binge watching your content and I must say - you are so pleasant and fun to watch. I appreciate your authentic silliness and casual approach. I get stressed watching other plant pages sometimes, and you have a calming/casual effect - so thank you! Plants should be soothing. LOL On this specific video, when you said “practice acceptance” - this is such an important reminder for everyone. We (or at least I) tend to fall into the expectation/desire for our plants to look “perfect” - when in reality, their imperfections are what make them so beautiful and unique. Thanks again - I’m off to watch more of your videos. Signed: The new President of your Fan Club. LOL 😂

That’s funny because here in Europe, Clarinervium is much cheaper than Crystallinum! That just goes to show how much plants prices are manipulated and over priced this days!!

Me not knowging should I laugh or cry due to the dry af air here in the nordics. Heaters aren't even on yet but humidity is 25-30% indoors and gets up to only 39% if I keep humidifier on in closed room 10-12 hours a day.
