In this massive Konmari declutter video, I'll show you are we took our garage from a giant mess (it happens--it's life!!) and transformed it working just 30 minutes a day for a week. In this clean with me motivation video, we purged 50% of the mess, and along the way, I share with you tips for decluttering and staying organized. It doesn't have to look like Pinterest nor do you have to become a minimalist to love your space. True minimalism is about keeping what you NEED and USE: to love your space. Hope you enjoy!

Lenysea my favorite word “intentionality” . I feel so much better decluttering when I think of giving stuff away for someone else to find. Even her kids said they don’t need this stuff! That’s a great lesson to pass down

( This video I particularly liked because I've watched several garage organization videos lately -- and in contrast to the others I've watched, you created a beautifully functional space, but didn't resort to a fancy garage storage system or company's products. To me, this is more accessible and repeatable by those of us who don't have a company underwriting the products to showcase their materials. Well done! You stayed in the spirit of your name, DO IT ON A DIME. Lots of investment of time and energy by the whole family. But affordable for the rest of us! )

We recently cleaned our garage 4 hours. We made $300 off our garage and put in an envelope for Christmas. I’ve also cleaned master bathroom closet, master closet, the pantry and a closet off the garage. Sold another $300 if stuff. Then I moved onto a basement closet and put some furniture on consignment. Thank you for the motivation. It feels awesome!
I'm doing the same but I doubt I'll make that much off my junk but it might pay off the trips to Dollar store and wal Mart for bins.
When you let go of your stuff you can start to pick up your life. 😍

I literally just sold two items I didn’t need anymore on FB Marketplace yesterday! I have several boxes to donate and will be going through much more before the holidays. It’s so satisfying!
You can take a few pics of those donated items and post them on FB marketplace so you don't have to leave your home. Just a tip

Oh Kathrine!!! This is my Tupperware cupboard!!!! It’s never ending!!!! I finally.....TODAY.......just donated most all of it ; and only kept my 5 most used pieces. As hard as it was.....it’s liberating!!!!! It was one of the last places in my home that I had yet to tackle......I guess I dreaded it as much as you dreaded your garage! 😆!!! I love it. It took us the entire month of June 2018 to clean our garage. 9 truck loads of goodwill and 17 file boxes of shred later. It feels great.

I've always had a 3 car garage that had storage and would hold only one car. For the last 18mo, my 3 car garage has been able to hold all our cars! It's an amazing feeling. In my garage I have 2 sm freezers, 2 bikes, 1 garbage tote/1 recycle tote, 1 hamper of balls and 1 tool chest with 1 wire rack, 1 push mower and that's it. Knowing Every Thing in there is a new and wonderful feeling.

I get stuck in a rut with all my holiday decorations, some are heirlooms, but what I learned from you in past videos is that I don’t have to tie myself to those items that just are not me because they came from a family member a few generations ago. I can offer it up to other relatives that may get enjoyment out of it or pass it down to my daughter if she wants it/them. The more I purge of my own old decorations the more I can replace with budget items that are more in style and fit my current taste! You are such an inspiration 💕

Yes! I'm not a minimalist, but I think this video shows there CAN be an in-between when it comes to consumerism. You can enjoy having things to look at and decorate with and use without going all the way over into being weighed down by it. Great example... love it.

Kathryn, I was overwhelmed with kids' toys and stuff as well. Both are finally potty trained and do not need crib. These last months I was trying to sell them or donate. Everytime I "made" space, I felt so incredibly lighter. It took time but it is so worth it.

This is awesome! My husband and I need to do this in our garage even though our kids are grown and we can still park our cars in it. Our first home had a one car garage and when our older son started to get riding toys, we were never able to park a car in that garage again. Lol. When we moved into our current home, I told my husband we are parking the cars in the garage (2 car this time), then moving the other stuff in. I vowed that stuff will not prevent us from parking in that garage! Easier when the kids are older. Lol
We are getting ready to put our house on the market and are getting rid of nearly EVERYTHING! I told my kids about the “3 Ts” to make it easier for them: 1. Toss (garbage, recycling, broken or damaged items), 2. Take (donate too small or too big clothes and shoes, old toys, books they’re never going to read again, etc.), and 3. Treasure (what’s left are the things they LOVE).

My husband and I just moved from the States to England, and we chose to get rid of 90% of our stuff, store a few boxes of memorabilia with my parents, and move over with just a few suitcases. We are starting over, totally planning to do it on a dime, and just add back in the things we truly need. It was incredible how much stuff we had collected over the years, and it was freeing to see so much of it just go to another good home 😁👍

YES! We moved recently and our garage is a mess! We are slowly making headway on it and it feels so good. We have gotten quite a few large very sturdy metal shelving units at garage sales and such that has been such a big help!
