He is known by the name Eko and is from Indonesia. He passed away in 2019😢. Street performers in Indonesia are know as ‘buskers’, so he is also known as Busker Eko.
The whole performance was one of a kind. The out of tune guitar, the setting, everything was perfect. Someone should do a best of street performers (probably already exists) putting this gentleman at the top! 👍✌💚
That song always does. I don't think there's a person alive who can't relate to that song in some way shape or form. It just hits you right in the feels.
This is what I love so much about you brother Jamal!!! The way you look at music and the performance says so much about you as a human being. I know that you are the type of spirit that gets goosebumps from an awesome movement of music. Keep on being you and I will keep on tuning in. Namaste
I have a story about this tune and my Daughter. My Wife's water broke September 17th 2021, as it tends to do, so we went to the hospital. After 24 hours Charlotte (my Daughter) still hadn't dropped, so they came for Rhiannon (my Wife) and said something was wrong and a C-Section had to be done. The main RN from the emergency room staff came in and asked what music did I wanna hear inside the operating room. I thought he was joking and I was a little out of it, so I just chose my favorite band and said Pink Floyd. So they took Her and had me get into a haz-mat suit and wait in a waiting room. When they finally came to get me, they told me they were just gonna do it and not come for me, but the umbilical cord was wrapped around Charley Pooh's neck and I had to come. As soon as I walked into the room, sure enough Floyd was playing. They already had Her cut open and told me to go under the "tent" and talk to Rhiannon. As they pulled Baby Times out of Her belly, Wish You Were Here was playing. How perfect is that? The song doesn't necessarily match, but You better believe the chorus does. So Charli was born to the soundtrack of Pink Floyd. Good times. Great Memories😃
That was really good! Have you heard of Nandi Bushell, the 12 year old music prodigy? She’s best known for her “ drum battle”with Dave Grohl about a year ago, give or take. She’s been asked by the Foo Fighters to be a guest drummer at their Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in September. This isn’t a reaction request but you should really take a few minutes to check her out if you haven’t already ☮️💜
Jamel!!Home free is coming to CA in September! It would be an awesome opportunity for you to meet them and get a great video!!! They will be in Stockton,San Diego and Anaheim. If you go to Austin's you tube page he has some amazing music to listen to that doesn't get blocked. He also has a link for his web page where he grants interviews! Keep up the great work! Love your channel. Also catch up on Home Free new music. Ain't going down till the sun comes up will blow your mind. They don't block their videos.
That was awesome. I've watched a lot of the videos on CZcams that feature street performers but somehow I missed this one. Great reaction, hopefully you will do more street performers videos. 🙏✌️
Reminds me of when I was an 18 year old young man and ran across a few bikers that liked to hang out at Whiterock Lake in Dallas. They kinda took to me and let me hang out with them. One of them could play anything Pink Floyd did and he sang this song one night. It was the first time I actually heard him sing something and it gave me chills. He sounded exactly like David Gilmour.
I love watching the Play for Change videos to see people like this guy. Jamel they did some The Greatfull Dead songs with some of them playing in the video. Why not do a day of new performers we find.
I feel the pain in my heart from the tone he plays I think it's because of this that it has 15 million views and 230,000 thumbs ups. If you don't feel pain from this music, there's no need or value to hear it.
There’s a great video on CZcams of 2 Jewish guys doing pink floyd in Israel it’s so good sorry I can’t do a link I don’t know how to but type it in it should come up ps it’s shine on you crazy diamond.
Last I befriended a street guitarist. I told him that I tried playing off and on over the years. Although I can’t play I knew enough about the instrument to have an intelligent conversation. We also had some common influences. One day he asked me for a few bucks. I didn’t have and cash so he gave me his cash app number. When I got back to the office, I tried sending him some money but it didn’t work. Sadly I never saw him again.
Jamel PLEASE do “woman in chains” by the 80’s band “Tears for Fears”. Its a slower song but it’s sooooo moving with words and melodies that will definitely get you in your feels. PLEASE. Ty!
Ever notice when SRV sings, he stops playing, or drags out a muscle memory riff, and when he's done singing, starts back up the guitar. Singing AND playing the guitar is HARD!!! Not alot of people can do it. This guy is sloppy as all heck, but look at where he is, and he's singing in a foreign language to him.
This looks like a 3rd world country and I'm wondering how this man learned to play this and where he heard it. Obviously English is not his 1st language. Talented people loving music all over the world. I guess that's why music is one thing done in heaven and on earth.
Jamel, Check out David Gates song "Goodbye Gjrl" from 1978. He is the former lead singer for the early '70's band Bread but this song is from his solo music career and if you have reacted to Bread before and enjoyed their music then I know you will love this song since David Gates wrote and sang most of Bread's songs. I don't have a link to the video but he does have a live performance of the song available on CZcams that's easy to find but any version you can do is fine with me. He sounds the same live as the studio version so it don't matter which video you choose. At least check it out on your own for your own listening enjoyment. You won't be disappointed I assure you.i don't know how to provide links to videos or else I would do that. Thanks, I appreciate it and you have a great sense of humor in all your reactions.
👍😎 Not bad. 😎 I’ve given you many suggestions over the years. I get it, you get thousands of them. This is a little different, check out a channel called - Playing For Change - look for a video and watch yourself. People all around the world playing together, from a guy in New Orleans playing a wash board to Carlos Santana playing in a driveway in Hawaii. Crazy good. I’ve probably watched 20 and every one is great. That’s the only thing that I’m going to request, “try it, you’ll like it” (sorry) ✌️
I LOVE the Playing For Change movement. I've been following them for years! It's fascinating watching musicians from all over the world joining their talents to play songs, and I love the idea behind it!
You should check out The Amazing Rabis, they did a fantastic cover of "Wish you were here", odd seing a couple of Amish looking dudes jam this song, but youd appreciate it.

Do a search for Playing For Change. It's what you're looking for.
This guy has the sensitivity to convey the feeling through the music! This was Really beautiful 🎶💛
What a sweet voice he has. Bet that took some time to learn to play, by ear sounds like, and in a different language probably.
Much respect.
That song always does. I don't think there's a person alive who can't relate to that song in some way shape or form. It just hits you right in the feels.
Great reaction Jamel. There is something very touching about this. 😃❤️✌️🌼

Thank you for this reaction, Jamel. His performance was definitely deeply heartfelt.
He was awesome! Brought tears to my eyes.
He had “Heart” behind his rendition of that 🤘🏼🤠🤘🏼🤠
This song has so much emotion, so much truth that it pulls the heart right into my throat. Beautiful artist, beautiful song.

WOW, that is a memory to beat all! 👍✌
Huh, with a name like Rhiannon I would have thought Fleetwood Mac the obvious choice but can't go wrong with Pink Floyd.
@@johnfriday5169 Lol. Yeah. They asked me and She was like okay. If they woulda asked Her it woulda been FMXD
@@johnfriday5169 HAHA, True!
What an incredible memory of a scary event. Imo every birth is a miracle, but some come with special circumstances. 💜
Pink Floyd music is universal. This was great!
What an incredible artist! Beautiful!!!!

Good morning Jamel ! He’s amazing 🙌🏼Have you done “ this is me “ kiala Settle * ? The one in the studio ? Could you react to that please ?

Eko gb Jimmy Hendrix from Indonesia 😁
Check out the farmers who did a great cover of AC/DC thunderstruck. I think they’re called Steve N Seagulls

Anyone see the Jewish guys that Play this on the street. They are amazing
👍✌
He's Got a resemblance to Micheal Jackson from the 80s
Look like the Philippines
No, that is Indonesia
Sounds like Dylan singing.
Probably Philippines. I didn’t hear him speaking otherwise I could tell you but it almost looks like the Philippines
He’s from Indonesia. Lombok Island near Bali. He’s passed away. 🙏
Plies nex rectoin alip ba ta ( kepangku kapang)
No more phish?
couldnt listen to the tuning sorry, AAA for effort tho
No.
His playing needs a lot of work. he has a strong accent, so I'm leaving off vocal technique. I had to stop halfway as his playing was too sloppy.
The has heart, but as a musician myself the playing so far out of tune is like fingernails on a blackboard for me.
Sorry, but meh.
That was horrible
Because that is my opinion?
