- Who could forget Ramo the graffiti artist And Carmen struggling impoverished relationship in Beat Street, the 1984 Hip Hop classic film. They were in their early 20’s when the film debuted, now they are well into their 60s. How do they look now?

Beat Street was the first time I remember hearing female MC's the ones who performed @the Xnas party in Ramos apartment. BeatStreet, HipHop changed my life and I'm forever grateful. This was before Lyte, Salt&Pepa, etc... they rocked the mic and I still to this day can recall their lyrics. " Us girls can boogie too.., cmon on girls lets get ready. Shy Roc is the one with the magical touch. I dont burn the fire you know I'm much too much, I wanna treat you like a King in the heat of the night romance to the moon if the timing is right. Beatstreet captured the BX!!!! No debating. Somebody gave a copy to my Pops in VHS and he brought it home. It changed OUR lives forever. S/o to HipHOP, I love HER.
