    The New Olight Baton 3 Pro Max is going to be one of the best EDC flashlights in 2023. A super bright 2500 lumen 21700 battery torch that is rechargeable , waterproof, dust proof and drop proof. This is my review after 3 months of use carrying it every day and I must say that I love it. In this video you will see plenty of outdoor night time beam shots and how the flashlight looks in the dark . A good review and highly recommended flashlight for EDC in 2023. As well I show you a comparison with the Baton 3 pro and size difference between other models. I have the WW and CW editions of this light and show both.

    I, too, got the baton 3 pro before the pro max came along ! The pro max is a far better light , and the proximity sensor is working as you would expect on this pro max light !
    I never returned the baton 3 pro for the faulty sensor, but I just don't use the light anymore as this pro max is in another class to it!
    This model feels fantastic in the hand, and performance is amazing , a total winner from Olight.

    NT's reviews are so informative, thorough and interesting. If NT loves the Max this much, I know I will too when my OD green arrives tomorrow. The Baton 3 and Pro are the best compact EDC lights I've ever used, so picking up the Max during Olight's sale was an autopilot purchase. And I really do think the Max is a much better large compact EDC size standard than the Warrior 3S. The 3S is just a bit too big, and it's not a particularly comfortable or convenient light to carry, especially if you're a smaller/medium size person. But the Max finds a perfect sweet spot between the Pro and Warrior 3S. It's the largest of the Batons, but still a legitimate compact EDC light.

    Do you prefer the WW emitter over NW and CW?

    • @donaldstrader7241
      @donaldstrader7241 Před rokem +1

      I love the WW for nightstand use. Perfect for going to bed or getting up in the night without irritating one's eyes and disrupting the sleep cycle as little as possible. It also is going to have more limited availability if you are unsure. So I am happy that is all that I had available as a prototype as I might have gone NW. For general purposes I would probably go with neutral white and I have that on order in the Max. If you can only get one go with NW, unless you have a strong affinity for WW. As for CW (crappy white), forget it. Crappy white is only good for irritating the eyes, disrupting your circadian rhythm, and fooling you with its crispness into that it is a brighter, "modern" light. Actually you loose depth or 3-D effect, colors become muted and difficult to distinguish, and you just cannot perceive details as well.
      That is one of two reasons I do not have the Warrior 3S. Olight come's out with a wonderful switch, but otherwise handicapped the light by making it CW and removing the very useful 60 lumen mode, thereby significantly reducing its utility as a general purpose light or even as a tactical light. Hopefully in the future Olight will offer the 3S (with potential name change) in neutral white, add back the useful 60 lumen mode, and go with the hidden proximity sensor like the Max. There is one CZcamsr who loves his 3S as one of the finest lights BUT he modded it/fixed it, by switching out the emitter to a fine neutral white. I would rather Olight offered it that way. I don't think the video is extant any longer, but I'll never forget the comment by someone watching it about how much more one could perceive using the Olight versus the Fenix about the grave monument, before Olight gave up its tint/perception advantage. The cooler the light the less one is going to be able to discern. I love that Olight is now once again offering NW in some of its headlamps so they again can be used and recommended.

      @tonytrofe7137 Před rokem

      @@donaldstrader7241 Appreciate the feedback! I already ordered the Pro Max in Magnesium (which is CW) but going to pick up one or two tonight. Since NW in the Pro Max only comes in Black for now, I am thinking of grabbing the WW Pro Max and Pro ODG in NW just to have some variation.

      @@daviddawson1489 I can't count the amount of times my flashlight has gotten ripped from my pocket just going through some brush or just simply by my seatbelt. I never had that issue with my old olight s1 or s2 baton. The S1R Turbo S was the best EDC they ever made (a shame mine got lost somewhere). The moonlight setting was at least half as bright, and the color of the led was just a bit warmer which was much easier on the eyes, and it had the OG clip that allowed me to rotate the button around so it wouldn't be directly rubbing on my pants. I've already worn straight through the button on my Baton 3.

    Anyone who calls these lights an “edc” light is using the definition of everyday use! Not defense! If you need to deploy one of these lights in a defense situation you are at a major disadvantage because the switch is hard to get to and it’s not a tail cap switch. And anyone who has had to deploy a light in a defense scenario knows you don’t want to fumble around with your light to turn it on.

    • @TismFishing
      @TismFishing Před 8 měsíci

      Self defense is a secondary concern with this light. It will blind someone enough to disorient them. I think I could deploy and use the thumb button more quickly than a tail cap button. I do use my flashlight 3-4 hours several days a week doing inspections though so it’s like muscle memory. I don’t know that olight has great tactical lights compared to other brands, but they are definitely one of the best for ease of use daily. I also have never lost an olight from falling out of my pocket.
