Here's some suggestions: A comfortable place to sit, mini fridge, and microwave. Gotta look out for your own comfort. :)
I would definitely paint the walls white and the ceiling black to make space brighter but also cozier.
That's a very nice shop, I like it so much. Great job!
In my experience, blacks do not help with reflecting the light. I would paint the ceiling something lighter, like gray or white. Walls in some warm color.
@@multisilhoutte black ceiling will make it feel bigger. I did this in my shed workshop that has a low flat ceiling. Much better! A bunch of cheap Amazon LED lights (like fluorescent) and it's great. Walls are light grey, and reflect plenty of the available light.
Great lil work set up Rob ..I'd panel and insulate the doors and paint a feature wall white along with the inner doors .less bulbs needed to illuminate a bright white workshop
That is a cool bike shed setup. one nice thing having everything on wheels you can move things around easier in case you decide to rearrange somethings later on.
great overview of your new shop! Very nice. When I revamped my shop recently, I added a motion detector on/off switch for my overhead lights. It's nice to have the lights go on (and turn off) automatically. No more middle of the night treks back to the shop to turn off the lights
Some initial thoughts: 1-I'd be a little concerned about all that weight hanging from the rafters without some kind of framed-in reinforcement. (Also...Getting a bike down from there looks like it might be a huge PITA!) 2-Maybe hose down those OSB walls with some cheap flat white paint to create a brighter space? Otherwise...cool setup. Congrats!
Great shop well planned out. Very nice. Now get a security system for it!!!!!!
Very Nice, and the Heaven is full of bikes......
Very nice sanctuary!! Thats a good cave's man!!
I really like what you did with your new shop. I built a similar shed two summers ago behind the garage of my 81 year home. It is 12’ x 12’ . I use mostly it for storage. I repaired and refurbished a number of bikes for friends and family during covid. People bring me old bikes which I fix up and donate to a local co-op that has an after school program for kids. Besides my bike hobby, I repair and build golf clubs. I also use a lot of the same storage methods as you, tubs for bigger items , plastic shoe boxes for small stuff. My garage functions as my shop as it is too small for my truck
or my wife’s SUV. I have learned a lot from your videos and appreciate the quality of your work. I was inspired by your paint jobs. I recently bought some Spray.bike paint for a 87 Bianchi I am going to build Neo-retro. I am always happy when I see you have created a new video. Keep them coming.
I agree with several other comments about painting the OSB a white or lighter color to give the shop more reflective light.
As a former carpenter, I am concerned about all the weight pulling down on the rafters and you have zero collar-ties to keep the rafters from splaying and pushing the walls outwards. Did you have a structural beam as the ridge board to carry the load?
Awesome Bike Shop Rob. Just watching the tool board is amazing. how many of them. what I like the most is that there isn't noise of motorbikes or honks outside.
The shop is so peaceful. Noise ruins everything. Greetings from Bolivia. a sad, dangerous country for cyclists. Congratulations.!!!
I think I’d paint, or at least prime the walls a light color… because I’m old enough that I don’t see as well in low light as I used to.
Congrats on your new shop! Thanks for keeping in touch.
Looks great Rob! Nothing like having things organized to get you motivated for the next project. Well done!
This shop is my dream shop.
Wow. I wish I had the room for a shop like that. Well done and keep up the good work.
So jelly. This is sick Rob.
that's one sweet setup you have there
Demonstrates that great pride you take with your work.
Love the organization and design choices you made here, esp that book organizer for the spray cans. The single most important upgrade I would recommend for your space is to get a permanent, bike shop style repair stand with a solid steel base plate - the kind that don't fold up. They aren't annoying to slide around if you want to use the space for different things, but the way they hold bikes steady makes a HUGE difference compared to the folding, portable stands. I put a heavy weight on the base plate on mine to make it even more secure, but I may even bolt in directly to the concrete floor in my shop because I think the benefits of a securely held bike outweigh the loss of flexible floor space.
Yeah, paint the walls white. Looks cozy. Should be fine.
Always great to see your progress & new projects. Even though I own a Cycle Rescue all the way over in the UK. Keep the great content coming & good luck in your new shop.
I extended my shed a couple years ago by 5ft & insulated the walls & ceiling with 150mm rock wool, it's easy to warm up in the winter & nice and cosy but in the summer it gets super hot inside & not bearable to work in!
Yours looks awesome, love the rubber checker plate design floor covering, as some other subscribers have said I would have painted the wall white tho.
Great job.
Very nice,Rob. Congrats!
Awesome shop! Thank you for sharing
Congratulations! Wow soo cool, love the organization!! 🤜🤛
I have a portable tool kit and I have left most of my bikes at my family's homes. I like to spread my bike wealth around for everyone to use.
Great shed build it’s good to have your own space to do what you want and your channel 😊
Well done Rob, i‘m a bit jealous about your setup in the shop, but winter is coming soon and you gave me some motivation/inspiration (as always) to organize my own ,,messed”bikeshop. Lookin‘ forward to your upcoming projects.
Stay safe and healthy👍😎
Very nice love the walls
Hi Rob I love watching you. love the new work shop.i pick up a GT ricochet mountain bike that I am working on unsure of the year. so I have swapped out a few things like Handle Bars and goose neck for a shorter one. plus a set of disc brake wheel set.
nice shop very clean and organized
Im happy about your success... I'm going to miss your tool restoration stuff but you do you big feller
Like your new shop
a classic park tool truing stand nice
Awesome shop. Even if there's a mess under the bench with a tote. You definitely need to move the compressor. You could build a insulated locked storage space just outside the shed for the compressor rather than moving it into the house. It would be a shorter distance and easy to do. I have a friend that did that with his compressor and it worked out great. Just a idea.
Nice shop! Next project would be a paint booth with additional sandblaster booth too!👍
White paint on walls and cieling will brighten it up a bunch
Your shop is a inspiration love it
Excellent workshop I'm actually planning to build one also
Wow 😮This space is the stuff of dreams 👏
I use my double garage for bicycle work while still using it to house 2 cars. Wrenches on magnet bars on the wall but the majority of my tools are on a 3 level stainless steel catering trolly that I picked up dirt cheap. I keep it in the corner when not working on bikes and wheel it out to the entrance area (best lighting) when I need my tools. It also doubles as a portable bench.
I love your sign off. Always have.
Love the shop. I have some of those mats in my shop and they really make a difference when standing on them, versus concrete all day. I have a 20x24 shop that I am eventually wanting to set up for a podcast & CZcams studio as well as a bike shop. However currently my son's band is using about 18x24 of that shop for their rehearsal studio. They are building a new studio of their own, but who knows when they will be getting it done???
Thanks for the Video, so we can see behind the scenes
Nice job I like it very much.
Instant anxiety triggered with the crooked park tool poster!
Thanks for sharing
Awesome new shop, congratulations! Much shop envy here, my "shop" consists of my son's old bedroom (which still has a twin bed in, that I nap on and sleep on work nights because our schedules are so different, with half of my future project bikes locked to the (uncovered) porch and wrapped in tarps, lol 😆
Awesome !
Kinda like a bike clinic where you can make a miserable bike ridable again. One thing I missed inside your shop is the silver play button on the wall. 😃👍
One awesome mancave!
thats a nice shop😊
Awesome! I am having similar style shed built for my workshop/man cave. Great minds think alike!
Love your new shed shop. Have you thought about building a closet and insulating the walls for your compressor to cut dove on the noise?
Good job love you From Dino Mares Fontana CA
Super organized considering the amount of bikes and parts you have. I’m surprised you didn’t paint the walls. It would make a huge difference in the amount of light.
Really nice shop. I would have painted the walls in a light color to brighten it up a little bit but that's just my old eyes 👀
Excelente espacio de trabajo 👍👍
very nice.
One day I will have a shop like this.
Sweet
The things I could think of to improve upon it would likely require a bigger, fancier, and more expensive shop. So, what you did is likely the best way to go given space and resources available. I probably would have wanted a more finished look to the walls, outlets, etc. But that's being a little picky. I probably wouldn't be too crazy the bikes hanging overhead. But there is no denying how much space you save that way. If you didn't do that, you would probably need another shed like that one just to house them all. Which probably isn't too realistic. Even though that might be a nice setup. Especially if you have larger numbers of them in the future. Then you could have a separate workshop and storage/warehouse area. Who knows? That might be a future project as you expand your operation. I do, however, like the idea of a rubbery floor. It's probably easier to walk on than concrete and likely has other benefits. Overall, it's a very practical shop that you can get a good deal of work done in. You have tools, workbenches, and storage for parts and bicycles. Things are very organized, and the available space is used very efficiently.
Nice! Now let's see that hanging bike with the Brooks saddle. 🤔
What's your plan for summer heat? Looks good, love a shop tour!
Your channel has inspired me and I just bought a Klein Pulse for $50. The parts have some serious corrosion.
Awesome shop! I’m a little (?) jealous! One thought, would building a box (with insulation) quiet the compress enough without needing to move it?
Nice 😉👍🌻
Looking good man. I was wondering what that wheelset is that you have for your next build? I like the look of them.
A concern is do u have any ventilation for when your are cleaning bike parts, especially in the colder months when you don't have the door open? I know a lot of cleaning chemicals are non toxic these days but it still a good idea to have ventilation.
Always go bigger this video is telling me.
Ahorita no tengo el traductor, pero ese es mi sueño tener un taller así como el tuyo. Saludos amigo
Indeed, very nice shop Rob! Question: why didn't you paint it (partially) white? I did that in my shed an the reflection of the light makes a huge difference. It dramatically improved the light conditions, now I can see stuff that I'm looking for. ;-) Just the ceiling alone would help a lot I reckon. Success with your videos and thanks a lot for your hard work!
Oh i have a build 💡. What about a parts bin bike? All parts must be from what you have.
You have a bicycle store 😂
Good luck.sir do you require any bicycle mechanic?
ça donne envie !
What Is Common Often Wrench (Cup Wrench) Using For Bike Especially MTB Hardtail and Fullsus?
How did you mount your Parktool stand to the wall? I need to do that?!
👍
What typ of tool is the one in the top left corner in the hanging board?
No windows? No ventilation? OMG!
Long time viewer, First time Commenter. What’s the HVAC plan?
May I ask how much did it cost you and long to build this?
Do you have a good solution to store extra wheels? I haven’t found a good solutions for the wheels I collect.
Here are a couple things I have done, one is suspend from rafters a broom handle or closet rod from screw hooks, then I used S hooks rotating the S parts so that they are at 90 deg to each other. Recently I hung a chain vertically and then used the same S hooks to hang them from the chain links
Where will painting be done
If you ever thought about selling your bikes. How would you be able to get the money back from your efforts on your work of art.? Because I'm thinking about doing something like your doing as well. As a side Job. ! Plus that the amount of new parts you have installed and invested in.
Hello,
I have a question for restoration approach,
Currently the hollow tech system is actualy getting Old (I mean its been for quite long time now), so why with your restoration you go for the square bracket instead of using 1st edition hollow tech brackets and drive?
Lets forget about the weight, from technical standpoint there area easier to instal and easier to fix, so why not go this path?
I chose the square taper crank for a few reasons. First I had the right sized bottom bracket and second there is much more availability for a 38T narrow wide chain rings for a 104 bcd crank and their prices are much cheaper.
Do you sell your Bob Ross Style hardtail? And do you send Bikes to Germany? 😀🙋🏻♂️
Is the Sir9 for sale??
Una consulta. Lei que si a la bici la dejas parada, estacionada las cubiertas se les deforman todas con el tiempo. no tengo donde dejarla colgada, lo que hago es sacarle las ruedas y la dejo colgada a las ruedas. Esta bien?
No todas reaccionan igual.
Algunas, despues de estar detenidas y usarlas al mes se van cuarteando.
Tal vez lo mejor sea desmontarlas si no se usaran por meses.
Omg you're 5ft9. Thought you were around Seth's height
Your obviously a brilliant person. I love how cozy your new shop is. Be nice to have a second shed for the bikes. When will you be available to organize my house? Great video!
if I draw you a picture of a bicycle, will you put it up in your new shop?
No windows?!
Since it is also my filming studio I need to be able to control the lighting.
I would never put good working bikes in my shop only bikes that would be in my shop are bikes that need worked on
Good day Rob pwede po ba Ako makahingj ng 1 bike KC luma na po bike ko.taga pilipinas po Ako Salamat po and God 🙏 Bless
