It's actually dope. Everybody likes to shit on the worst players from the top of all sports. Like to make it to the NBA you have to be amongst 400 best basketball players in the world and the 400th player is still insanely good. To make it to F1 you need (apart from money) to be one of the 20 fastest drivers on entire Earth and yet the slowest driver of those 20 is insanely quick. You can count these type of examples. People think it's all easy, but there is big border between the worst of the best and the best of the rest.

Jim Loscutoff initially had the no. 18 jersey retired for the Celtics, but for some reason it was unretired for Dave Cowens to wear. The jersey was later retired for Cowens. For Loscutoff, a jersey with his nickname Loscy was hung in the rafters.
He didn’t want it retired, he wanted more people to be able to wear it. They’re gonna need to start doing that with the rest before they run out of numbers

You might want to consider Patrick McGaw for the 3 rings slot. Dude won 2 rings as a benchwarmer in his first 2 seasons in golden state, then he was signed by the Raptors who went on to win a ring in that lone Kawhi season, so it was 3.
Agreed. By their own definition, if a dynasty holds on to you for more than a year or two, then you obviously have sustained value that other bench-riders don't. Golden State didn't care to match an offer to retain McCaw after just two years, and he was lucky as hell to pick up a third ring after that. So he would fit this definition more than Simpkins. Not to mention McCaw is only 26 and has already been out of the league for over a year
And Jameson Curry would absolutely annihilate any one of us on the basketball court.

I went to elementary, middle, and high school and graduated high school with Simpkins’s son, here in Tennessee of all places. Obviously, his son played basketball but he was also a really good artist/drawer.

Adam Morrison deserves to be on this list more than anyone. I coined the term "Adam Morrisoned" as "A draft bust wins a championship as a seldom used reserve on another team" a la David Carr with the 2011 Giants and Blaine Gabbert with the 2020 Bucs
At one point the Panthers had 3 number one overall picks on one team. Keyshawn Johnson, David Carr, and Vinny Testaverde.

It's an extraordinary achievement to be good enough to make it onto an NBA roster, but not good enough to play more than 3.9 seconds in your career.

This is a super weird list. I like it. It's fun.
For one thing, it's basically entirely composed of HOF NBA legends and guys you'd stick on the end of the bench and hope they stayed there. The one guy in the middle is Steve Kerr...who is also the guy in the middle of the list.
Also, it's shaped more or less like a basketball team. There's a big franchise-cornerstone center, a couple other 6'9" guys, and a few more forwards. They have a deep collection of guards including an elite floor-general PG and a star scorer at SG. There are 11 players total, with a pretty wide variety of playing styles. It's not the traditional 12, but you can play a game with 11 players.
And yet this is not a functional basketball team. Not even close. There are only four starting-caliber players and besides Russell, their only good NBA players are guards. Half or more of the team is guys that you wouldn't put into the game unless you absolutely had to, or if the game was a complete blowout. 4 guys in the hall of fame, 0 depth. In a video game sim they would dominate because of the star power. In real life? I have no clue. With no injuries and a coach who was all-in, they could go pretty far if it was a weak year in the rest of the league. With a star hurt and modern load management, I could see them missing the playoffs entirely.
Likely a "superteam" that is legitimately a bad team. This list is weird.

Great video, one thing I will say is that the criteria for worst player to win a ring should be someone who actually recorded minutes during the Finals, or at least the playoffs.

I find it hard to imagine that among those who won two rings anyone could be worse than DJ Mbenga (Lakers, winner in 2009 and 2010). Adam Morrison definitely was far better.

To have won a ring in the first place means you were a part of a winning organization, if a team has a top heavy roster, some players won't even get to play but still get a ring thus why we get such terrible players with championship rings.
