  • Recorded December 5, 1949. Charted at #1 for one week on the Billboard Disk Jockey chart in June 1950. Released as the B-side of "Rag Mop", this single proved to be a smash hit. "Rag Mop" hit #1 first, and then "Sentimental Me" months later. As was common in those times, the disk had a lot of competition from competing versions. Others vying for chart action (with Billboard placement attained when charted) include recordings by: Ray Anthony (#7), Ken Griffin, Martha Lou Harp and Vic Anthony, Billy Mayo, Russ Morgan (#7) and Ray-O-Vacs. The song was later recorded in 1961 by Elvis Presley.
Written by Jim Morehead and Jimmy Cassin.

There are Many Singing Groups but absolutely None have the Glorious Harmonies like The Ames Brothers. May be it's because they're family and the closeness enriches the vocals like no one else can.
