A NOTE ABOUT CHART STATISTICS: Before the 1940's, official music charts detailing the top selling records did not exist. However, music trade publications would include notices from record companies mentioning popular records, and other information that could be used to estimate a recording's popularity. As a result, modern researchers (in particular, Joel Whitburn in his Pop Memories book)have worked hard in combing through data of record sales, notices concerning popularity, and other historical artifacts from music publications to discern where the records of pre-1940 would have likely charted if official charts had existed. I feel it is interesting and important to use this data in my descriptions to give the listener a feel for how popular the songs, artists and recordings of the time were.

The Four Aces - I'm Yours (1952)
Charted at #17 on Billboard's Records Most Played by Disk Jockeys chart in 1952. The Four Aces cut a very good version of "I'm Yours" but the competition was too great, and this record didn't fare as well as the releases by Eddie Fisher and Don Cornell, which both charted at #3 in Billboard. A fourth recording, by Toni Arden, charted at #24. Original Billboard review: "The Aces, sparked by lead singer Al Alberts, do a strong job on the lovely new ballad, "I'm Yours"."

The Final Days Before the Storm
This is a beautiful song. I heard it for the first time when i was 13 years old(I was born in 2007 and i'm 17 now). My grandmother played it on the piano a couple years ago when i was that age and told me that her dad would play the song or when it came on the radio her dad would have her dance with him in their living room in the early 50s when she was a child. She said that was one of her favorite memories of him when he passed. He passed away quite a while ago. She passed away tonight due to cancer beating her the 2nd time around. I was able to say goodbye but without words because I was too emotional I played this song and told her about the memory because she could hear she just couldn't open her eyes. This song will forever remind me of her and her father. I hope she heard.
