    Greetings 🇨🇦
    I know this rifle has gotten a lot of beef, and I’m not the one to take other people's words until I try it for myself and make my own conclusion that's always the best way to get your own opinion on something. So I purchased the wooden stock of the model 2020 and I absolutely love it. I haven't had any issues with it. It shoots well and it feeds well with the Ruger 10/22 magazines. I suited the rifle with Vortex diamondback 4-16x44 FFP MRAD it turned out to be a great match for the rifle. Who knows, maybe I got lucky with my rifle and I didn’t end up with a lemon like most people did. I’m not denying the hate about them nor the issues that people have claimed, I'm just saying my experience was a perfect one, and I’m very happy with my rimfire model 2020 Springfield.
    FYI I love the factory trigger 4.5lbs. But I am thinking about upgrading to a TriggerTech, Remington 700 Diamond Single Stage Trigger 0.25 lbs to 2 lbs.

    Here is to hoping for a V2 or one they actually claim to be a Match version. Like you said, they did lots of things right. 700 compatible trigger, stock shape, smooth action and threaded heavy barrel. Sounds like they just need a match chamber/rifling. If they can do that and price it at $500 bucks, they will have a winner.

    I bought the satin walnut 2020 and its been a great rifle. Im no group shooter so i cant claim a moa but i shoot at a 1.5 inch steel round target at 50ish yards. Hits eveytime. Only problem i found is it doesnt like the ruger mags, and that shitty bolt shroud had to come on off. Ive noticed most of the bad reviews are coming from the synthetic stock model.

    Every honest test has junked this rifle. I own several .22lr rifles. One of them is a Norinco EM 332, it cost me $160 and it shoots sub MOA at 50 meters. My best .22 is a CZ 457 MTR 20" sub MOA at 50 and 100 meters. The 2020 rimfire is not even suitable for plinking. I would like to see someone put a bore scope through the barrel to see what it looks like in there, especially the crown

    You are shooting at 50 meters and the one average you said was sub MOA at .97, wouldn't you double that since MOA is 100 yards? Or were the groups actually under .5" and you already doubled the size for 100 meters?

      @EpikArms  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Yeah you are right, so all the numbers I'm reffering to is at 50m. Also from what ive been told springfeilds claim of sub moa was meant to mean sub 1" at 50yards. Good review, Springfield should have sent the barrel blanks to savage for rifling. It's a nice looking rifle and everyone wants it to be a shooter. If your looking for a wall decoration this would be nice, especially with the high end wood. My question to Springfield is how could you deliver this to the market place? If you get the issues fixed in gen 2 it will be too late to save this rifle.

    My CZ457 out of the box with a cheap Simmons scope I had laying around did just under MOA at 50 yards with cheap Eley (Contact, not their match grade), like .48". Pretty sure it was a cheaper rifle too.

    • @davidleatham296
      @davidleatham296 Před 8 měsíci +1

      Nah, the very cheapest CZ is actually about 28% more expensive than the 2020. Im horrible at math but the plastic stock CZ street price is about $539 while the 2020 is only about $419. Not that its not worth the extra $110, but at low price points 28% more is significant. Again, that being said, I would buy the CZ also.

    DO NOT BUY THIS RIFLE! I bought the 2020 rimfire soon after it was released. 5 shot groups at 50 yrds were ranging around 2" to 1" groups. When it did shoot 1" it wasn't repeatable like other rifles. It was difficult to find ammo that it likes. Ammo used were cci, sk, eley, aguila, and norma tac. I feel there is something off with these barrels. No ammo shot consistent with the 2020. I also shoot with a CZ 457 and use to own a Ruger RPR rimfire that I shoot with over the years. The springfield 2020 is not consistent at all. What did i do? I contacted Springfield and told them what happened. I sent the gun in and they said theres nothing wrong with it. My guess is that they dont care how it shoots. And they arent stupid. They know it isnt something theyd own themselves when you have cheaper rifles out there that are more accurate. Stay away.

    Quick note on warranties... You are going to be hard-pressed to find any manufacturer guaranteeing anything other than a 3-shot group 1moa@100yds with factory match ammo. They all either don't guarantee it or say 3-shot groups. That said, MOA guarantee doesn't matter if you aren't an MOA shooter... As a gunsmith I will say I have yet to see a new gun perform worse than the shooter. Not saying they don't exist, but generally it's the operator. Clearly you got a bad rifle.
