Abhirup Guha Roy, I salute you for the responsibility taken by you. One more point I want to add when we choose our representatives in democracy, it is clear that majority party will rule the state and party will also lift the aspirations of majority only then he will come in power again and again. Jyoti Basu did the same. He also done many great works in begal for majority. There are many state which are not industrialised but their per capita income is higher than industrial states because of other source of income, low population density, migration of people to other place for better jobs, enterprising nature and where political rivalry are detached from social rivalry and not so staunch. I am from Bihar and lives in Gujarat for 20 years and conclusively say that if Gujarat is developed the major reasons are enterprising nature of Gujarati, no hesitation in migrating to other country and state, high investment and low lavish expenses, solution minded, less social conflict. Of course better infrastructure electricity by govt have been given but this is also main demand of people here.

    Being a Bengali living in WB for almost 2 decade. Top 3 reason according to me;
    1. Partition
    - Most of our industrial region went to Bangladesh.
    - Value of ports in Kolkata decreased.
    2. Border issues
    - Illegal infiltration.
    - Illegal cross-border trade.
    - This results in stagnated growth in border areas.
    2. Left rule
    - Lack in proper ideology (or no vision).

@Sujan Mondal brother,India's largest organised sector industries are in the states of Maharashtra and Karnataka because their were no left and communist government in the past and congress ruled this states for majority of time which stayed away from appeasement politics in the name of welfare schemes.
So Maharashtra is largast contributor in direct taxes which is nearly 40% of total collected tax from states.
      Followed by delhi(11%) Karnataka (10%).
But in case of BIHAR(0.65%)- third largest population, UP(3.5%)- largest population, Bengal (4%)-fourth largest population. You can see that they hardly contribute to direct tax revenue. If you doesn't improve tax base and tax collection how the government is gonna get money for development and infrastructure.

But they also improved industrial and service sector which is prime driving force of their economy in which our Up, bihar and west Bengal lagging.
In one of the above comments i talked about tax contributions from different states and in that how much our nothrn states like up, bihar, West Bengal are lagging because large percentage of population is involved in agriculture and primary base sectors.
And you know in our country there is Tax on agriculture income.

Maharashtra was ruled by congress for nearly 50 years under leaderships of Yashvantrao chavan, Sharad Pawar, Vilasrao Deshmukh, etc. These leaders really worked hard for development of Maharashtra.

I have heard from a relative of bureaucrat in Bengal that people of Bengal especially in rural areas don’t want any kind of development to happen on their land they just want status quo. This kind of belief, environment and attitude has been inculcated in Bengali systems by local politicians and bureaucrats to keep the people deprived so that they can eat out the resources. That’s the main reason Bengal really needs political change.

The salary growth rate has been slow and the inflation adjusted income value shows lesser buying power to people. Britishers used to cut the fingers of Weaver of Dhakai Muslin Saree, the then most fine Saree in entire world. Even there was a gteat Famine in Bengal in 1943 that was artificially caused by Winston Churchill. Still after the independence Bengal flourished a lot so far as the Industries are concerned under Congress era but people were starving. The wealth was captured by few Rich. Then the violent Naxalite Movement took place by 70s and Industries started to fly away. Uniformed People assume that the trade union of CPIM party stopped Bengal's Industrial growth but it's false. The reason was Naxalite Movement, much before CPIM came to power in 1977. Even Naxalites used to kill CPIM leaders equally. Jyoti Basu massively decreed Lands from big Zamindaars and Distributed them amongst Landless Farmers that is called the famous land reform of Bengal, unique in India. And Bengal again started to flourish. Still Bengal's GDP is higher than the average GDP of rest of India. Thank You for making this video.
