Happy to have made this for the NewRetroWave channel. Each month I make two mixes for them, one a best of series and then another where I just let loose and make something fun. Last month was a Valentines day themed mix, so I thought it would make sense to tilt the scale the other way and make something more on the darkside of things. I love the oldskool horror movie artwork, I used to spend ages looking at it in the video rental stores as a kid, I couldn't watch the movies though which sucked 🍻

Fright Night 2 poster always amazed me as a kid.
I was around 5 when the decline of blockbusters started which meant the stores were closing and unfortunately I only ever stepped inside one once but I do remember having that experience of getting lost in the artwork of the VHSs

The 600 series had rubber skin. We spotted them easy, but these are new. They look human... sweat, bad breath, everything. Very hard to spot.

This may sound silly, but I found this during quarantine and I find it so relaxing. I take a bath to it just to chill and keep my mind off all the chaos. And, occasionally, I dance to it! :) Thank you for this awesome compilation!

These are easily some of the best mixes I've ever encountered, and I've been deeply into all sorts of electronic music since the late 90's. Driving back country roads late on mild nights while playing one of these mixes is amazing.

It cannot be mentioned enough how well this playlist is mixed. Every single track seamlessly flows right into the next. I listen to this in the background and thought the first three tracks were actually one. That's how well mixed these are. They flow perfectly.

This brings back memories of the '80s...as a kid/teen, every Saturday night I was taken to the local video store to get a VHS tape to watch before bed...I always went straight to the horror section and would find some of the most obscure and gory movies to pick out.

There was a band who made most of Dario Argento's movie soundtracks back in the 70's and early 80's. The name of the band was Goblins (Italian band), this music totally reminds me of them.
