- Renee: / classicallycoolprodz had been making this collab with someone else and had finished all of her parts, an entire half of the video, when the her collab partner's computer broke. So Renee asked me to fill in because she really wanted to see the collab completed, and because she knew I shipped Delena. I do love this cover of the song and Delena, although I don't really think they go together... the song is about a painful break-up and Damon & Elena have never really dated on the show lol. I was honored to be asked by Renee though and I love her videos and I wanted to help her out so I accepted and then I made all my parts yesterday afternoon/evening/night lol. And in record time made a whole half of a TVD video! :D
I wasn't sure while vidding it if it was supposed to be AU or not lol so I kinda went more canon whenever I could... I'm more of a fan of canon Delena anyway. ;) So for things like my part starting at 2:55 - I meant canon, Elena is missing Stefan and Damon is missing Katherine and Rose, and then I made that part before last night's episode had aired and I couldn't think of any real times Damon was clearly comforting Elena over the loss of Stefan but Elena in both of those hug scenes is comforting Damon after he lost his loved ones. And Damon is thinking "now Katherine/Rose is gone and I'm wishing..." - that was my weird thought process anyway. :P I'm sure most people will just watch it and see it as me trying to make manipulations where at 2:55 Elena is crying over Damon, etc, though. And that's fine too. It's the beauty of the art form of fanvideo making - it's open for interpretation lol.
So anyway ClassicallyCoolProdz made all the parts using the odd numbered episodes. And she'd finished them before season 3 started. She did use one scene from an even numbered episode by accident - a scene from 1x02 in her first part - and she made 1 manipulation using episode 1x04, another even numbered episode in her second part. But other than that she stuck to odd numbered episodes.
So I got to use all the even numbered episodes and also all 5 episodes of season 3 so far. ;)
Also you can tell our parts apart if you want because my parts (the seasons 1 & 2 parts at least) are all DVD rips, whereas hers are all TV rips it looks like. ;) Lol. I used TV rips whenever I used season 3 though so that's also not a sure way to tell them apart if you don't know the show too well. Also TV rips don't always have the CW logo on them so sometimes they look like DVD rips which makes it more confusing.
Um... Renee did the coloring and rendered the whole collab - twice!! So thank you SO much for that. I really appreciate it. She also cut the song I think in the beginning of the whole thing... I mean I didn't do it lol. ;) I don't know for sure if it was her or her original collab partner but she was able to send me my song parts for vidding so I figured she did it.
I came up with the watermarks and font choice though. ;) Btw.

Aw, thanks! We're so glad you like it. This combination is much more to ClassicallyCoolProdz's credit than mine, I would never think this song really fit the canom relationship Damon & Elena had and I hate making non-canon videos without specifically thinking up an AU plot - so like if someone suggested me using this song for Delena, I'd have to say they were dating once and now they're broken up and miss each other would end up being my specific plot. Sorry, idk if I'm making any sense... lol.
I thought that this song definitely worked or at least you guys made it work! The stuff like using the necklace instead of a ring and the scene of them at the pageant for wife was really brilliant. The chorus really works with them, especially considering that Elena doesn't really remember their most epic moment aka Damon's love confession, haha. This flowed pretty seemlessly, the mark of a great collab!! :D

I loved this and you always know how to do scenes so well. I actually really like this ship and seem to lean more towards them as of now. They bring out the good in each other. Plus he makes Elena fun :)

Aw, wow, this turned out really good! You're right, the song doesn't seem that fitting for DE at first - but watching the video totally changed my mind, you were both able to make it work from their POVs. And I really appreciate how you sticked to canon as much as possible, I think it made the video even better ^^ Kudos to Renee for the coloring, it's really good and fitting for the song!

@MusicIsMyLifeForeves It's from Stefan's dream that Katherine is forcing on Stefan to torture him near the very beginning of season 2 episode 4, "Memory Lane". :P Stefan is watching Damon & Elena as if they were happily dating in his weird dream and that's why I thought it'd be perfect for the idea of matching the lyric "it was only just a dream" lol - that's an even numbered episode so it was my part. ;)

@HHForeman Thanks! I think if you know and love the original (or some other) version of the song, and know it really well, then hearing a cover like this will sound bad to you. But if you listen to both a lot or this one a lot you might end up liking them equally or this one more even. Possibly lol. You'd probably like this cover more if you heard this one a lot in a row without hearing the original. ;)

I can't remember honestly if I've commented on this since I haven't done much on youtube in about a week, but I guess if I did a second comment wouldn't hurt. lol. I might not get the story/pair itself but I like a good video when I see it. It's a nice mash of you both. It's clear you work well together. I liked the transtions especially around the 1:00 min mark. used when needed and less from more emotional impact. good job guys.

I used the kisses they had up until 3x05 (the last episode that had aired before we finished this) - I had even numbered episodes and season 3 and so I used when Damon kisses Katherine in 1x22 thinking it's Katherine and the kisses they shared in the nightmare Katherine plants in Stefan's head in the beginning of 2x04 (I did both to match the lyric "it was only just a dream")...see 2:41 & 3:58 lol - plus I also used the 2x22 deathbed kiss scene, see 1:51-1:57 lol. ;)

I loved every second of the episode though. Stelena and all was EPIC haha. Every second just wowed me.

First I will start with the positive..I enjoyed the coloring and concept behind the video, but because I did not like this version of the song it brought a disconnect of emotion for the entire video. And because I did not like this song it made me feel like the editing of the beats sometimes were too fast. BUT I do want to thank you for sharing. Always nice to see new Delena vids!
